    I have been a Michael Jackson fan all my life. I was grading papers and watching TV when the news broke. I was in shock and then I couldn't stop crying. Such a sad day.

    I was pulling into the Walmart parking lot when I heard about Michael Jackson. Poor Farrah Fawcett lost her battle the same day. Sad day.

    Was at work as an apprentice chef in Brisbane Australia just before lunch service. My mother had passed just a few months earlier. That felt like another big part of my childhood hood dissolved. I didn’t believe it when I first heard. The Dangerous album was the first cassette I ever got, remember listening too & loving.

    i'd just sat down for dinner here in australia and saw it on the evening news. didn't believe it at first and frantically switched channels to see if anyone else was reporting it. once it sank in i just cried.
    i've lost so many family members that i sort of bottled up any emotion when someone died but when they televised his memorial service i think i mourned not only for Michael that day but every family member i've ever lost as well.
    grew up listening to the jackson 5 then followed his solo career right up until that tragic day. now forty something (ugh i'm so old) years later i still love listening to his music. RIP King of Pop!

    Michael Jackson was in many ways larger than life . It seemed everything he touched musically was gold . I was in a hospital with my husband in Ft. Myers , FL but I only heard about Farrah Faucet passing . I've since found that it was the same day when he passed . When I heard , my heart sank . I remember singing his songs all the time . Weird Al did spin offs of some of his songs . They were meant to be funny . I also remember his video appearing MTV , which was new on cable , with the song Billie Jean . Somewhere in the group of cable / MTV , it had become a huge issue about putting a " Black " singer on MTV . None of them wanted to show / air his video . There were still some very serious bias / racism happening . It seemed he wasn't recognized as a music artist . But eventually MTV gave in and played his video . It blew the roof off MTV . Because of Michael Jackson it broke the industry not for just music , but also black artists on MTV . Michael did a tremendous amount for people everywhere . He gave a young Mr White a friend when he needed one - - - HIV from a blood transfusion . Michael raised money to help feed the starving children in Africa with " We Are The World " song . He visited hospitals all over the world to give children some happiness . To forget their troubles for a bit . Neverland was also a place where anyone could go to feel young again including him . But in the 90's people started abusing him financially . Then they decided that he had so much money that they would accuse him of horrific things . For the record I know if someones body has been assaulted , and those two men were not assaulted by Michael . But they insisted they were and kept Michael going in and out of court over that crap . They were simply trying to get all the money they could out of him . I would never be saying that Michael was innocent of all this crap unless I truly believed it and knew it in my heart . I spent almost all my life studying people and animals . I know what either of them is going to do before they do it . Unfortunately I also knew that at least one was going to be a huge issue for him . Unfortunately I was right , though I didn't want to be .
    Michael was also a huge animal person . But as much as he loved animals , he also knew when it was time for them to move on safely to a zoo ( the monkey he had ) . I heard in one video interview he did that he had to release the monkey to a zoo because the monkey was slowly becoming dangerously aggressive to all including Michael . It became a safety issue .
    There were many things that Michael did to try to make this world a better place to be but he only broke ground . He left it to us to continue what he started . I have already been doing what I can to bring love and understanding to this world . It's time for everyone else to take a look at themselves and ask " what more can I give ?".

      @jerriedenham2320 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is not true about MTV. I was there with MTV from the time they first aired. There were many black artists featured on MTV. As for his innocence, only he knows and his accusers, the public will never know. You don’t know what goes on behind closed doors.. The day of his death, it was all over the news, Farrah took the back seat when she died the same day.. I grew up with the Jackson’s, loved their music, and Michael’s music, especially the Thriller album. But as for personal life, you can’t possibly know.

    I was at a friend's house that day in Fall City, WA. We were 17 and 18 at the time. We were doing our own thing: my friend was playing Xbox, me on the computer. And then this headline popped up, and it read: "Michael Jackson Dead at 50". I got my friend's attention, and we just couldn't believe what was happening.
    After his death we listened to a lot of Michael Jackson's music, and we've been huge fans ever since.

    I was in a patient's room passing noon medications. I was a registered nurse. I had been a fan for years and have tons of memorabilia. My father always had music on of all types. So I had grown up listening to him and his family's music. It's still hard to believe that such a talented soul and gentle soul was taken out of this world and home so soon. I just turned 50 and that is a long way from being old. It seems like the people who are really changing the world into a better place always die before their time. My heart goes out to his children and family

    I remember exactly what I was doing that day. I was living in Santa Ana California with my ex at the time and I had the day off from work that day. it was in the middle of the afternoon I was washing dishes and listening to the radio and the station I was listening to interrupted the song playing to say he had died. I ran to the T.V. In my room and it was literally on every channel I couldn’t believe it. I loved him and he was the first musician I remember actually really liking as a child. I use to dress up and dance to his music all the time. He the reason I started taking voice lessons and dance lessons. Hope he’s at peace now ❤️❤️❤️

    I dont care what anyone says, Michael Jackson wasn't a pedophile, he was just a man, who never had a normal childhood, and wanted to do and act the way a child would of done, once he had the chance to, R.I.P MJ 💙🙏🌹🕊

      I agree 100%. Michael was a very misunderstood person. He wanted to enjoy all the childhood activities that he missed out on. It breaks my heart for him.

      Kids say otherwise. I had posters of him on my wall, but who invites kids over for a “sleepover” unless it’s with kid friends? If he wasn’t who he was no parent in their right mind would allow that.

    I was at home putting dinner on the table ( I'm 3 hours ahead of California time), when the news report came through stating that Michael had died :'( I've been a big fan of Michael's since he was a part of the Jackson 5, I grew up in his era. It tore me up pretty badly when this happened and I will never forget this wonderfully talented and gentle man. RIP #MichaelJackson , you may be gone from this world but you will never be forgotten...FACT!!!!

    Thank you for the video for Michael Jackson. I Love him. He got me through my childhood and more. I was in a part of Harlem or Washington Heights in absolute shock when I got the news of his passing. My instinct was to go to the Apollo Theatre on 125th Street NYC, there were hundreds of us there. 🌹
