Im glad they put him where they did, because even as a lifelong fan myself, I wouldn't want to disturb his Peace. This world caused him so much pain and now he gets to truly rest without being bothered and I love that for him.

This is really cool, I’m a Detroit guy so MJ has a huge part over here and is honored in not only Hitsville but as well as Woodlawn cemetery and I’m sure there is plenty other memorial sights for MJ here in Detroit. He is never forgotten.

On Chopin’s Tomb and many other sacred tombs are spray painted arrows with the words “to Jim” desecrating them. Can you imagine the damage Michael’s fans would do if they could get it? Imagine each fan taking one leaf from a plant, or a sprig of a shrub. The place would be decimated.

That’s nice to hear. I found the music a bit disturbing, and all of those tombs on all sides, I found it quite creepy, to be honest. But the atmosphere probably feels different when you walk through there yourself. My own family are all buried in a forest cemetery with beautiful old trees that are hundreds of years old, now that is what I call a peaceful place with birds’s songs as music all day long. But I know Michael’s family had to make sure his final resting place would be safe and guarded, so it is understandable why they chose the Mausoleum.

I grew up with Michael and his music as children we often danced in Germany to his music.... when I went on holiday to Holland as an adult and sat in a small hotel at the bar, the news of his death came on a small TV .... it was then dead quiet no one moved for a felt eternity the grief was inhumane.... my grief over his loss is so enormous without him I would be a nobody and I cry because I owe him a lot.In my heart he lives forever I hope he dances his dances in heaven and sings in the choir.... even my brother often says to me when I feel bad think Michael wouldn't want that.... Thank you for your effort with the video that hurts me to see.. If I were in America, I would go to his grave every day and show him respect.

Michael Jackson lived a weird and tragic life, that much one can't deny. But he was a brilliant performer, one of the best of all time even, a true philanthropist who wanted to make the world a better place, and one hell of a musician. We will never have another like him again. Requiescat in Pace Sir Michael, you might be gone but you are certainly not forgotten.
I disagree completely with the assessment because Thanks to videos the Jackson legacy will live on forever. The sheer number of albums sold means even some of his forgotten songs will be revived anytime soon.

It's strange, I sort of see the need for the security; the possibility of grave robbing for souvenirs, vandalism, even those who might try and steal his remains, but indeed, I also think there were better ways to handle this in such an already secure area; the tightened grip of protecting his remains only gives the impression further still that even in death, his family have such a grip on him to his fans.

It’s so sad, he loved his fans. Now he’s just alone in a corner. For these cemeteries to have so many celebrities they look like a very lonely place, I would think more fans would be there. Some graves are beautiful and some are just plain and sad looking.

Thank you and to the person who made it possible for you to get inside for giving us a tiny tour and showing us what you could show. I remember Michael once said that he would like to be put to rest near children, so he’d be surrounded by their pure spirits. It already broke my heart when Neverland was taken away from him, for that would’ve been the perfect resting place (yes, I know all the circumstances and reasons why that wasn’t possible, I’m just stating what would’ve been nice if our reality were a different one). It was also sad to see the guarded tomb before it was covered up - he had spent all of his life sequestered from the outside world, feeling lonely and trapped, even though the fans showered him with love wherever he went. His painful fate had even followed him into the grave. And now they even put a curtain in front of it. I understand the need for privacy and respect, so loved ones can visit protected from the public eye. I really do. But to think of how much he suffered in life because of the isolation, and to witness now how that continues for him, even in death ... it’s truly heartbreaking. I know people leave flowers and cards for him outside the entrance doors of Holly Terrace, but like you said, I think there should be a special spot outside that people are officially allowed to pay their respects, perhaps even light a candle, and leave flowers in. Because these are the fans who loved, supported, and defended him throughout his life. Having to leave bouquets and cards on the ground in front of closed doors, or in the dirt outside under his windows is very sad. Rest in peace, Michael, you’ll live on forever in our hearts, and we’ll make sure our children also know what a kind, pure, and gentle soul you were. We’ll keep your legacy alive. 💚

This whole "show" they put on by hiding his grave, limiting access and all seems very suspicious to me. You can visit literally any other celeb's grave so easily to pay respects. Something is off about this for sure.
Finally made it inside bro ! Nice 👍🏼 it’s been covered now for a few years . People were getting in and going into the gate where mjs sarcophagus is and they would get caught be security hugging the tomb, posing in front of it for photos, and doing other things that they weren’t supposed to be doing so forest lawn decided to permanently place that covering that’s what I was told by a guard .
Wow, that’s so sad. It was beautiful before but the ugly barrier now is terrible. People should just respect the family’s wishes and leave him alone. The sun shining through the stained glass was amazing but now it’s hidden and once again he’s alone and separated from the rest.
I find it really sad they placed the curtain in front of his area. They used to have it on display but with guards next to it. Even in his passing we fans are still so far apart from him. I’m thankful to have the chance to see it through this video, I’m very surprised that you were able to get right into those chambers.

@Rob true only problem is it would be much harder to get to MJ because he’s at the bottom crypt of the sarcophagus which holds 4 caskets . You would literally need a special device or lots of man power to lift his casket out of the vault. His actual casket is under the steps of the sarcophagus he was lowered and pushed forward almost under the mausoleum floor.

Michael Jackson lived a weird and tragic life, that much one can't deny. But he was a brilliant performer, one of the best of all time even, a true philanthropist who wanted to make the world a better place, and one hell of a musician. We will never have another like him again. Requiescat in Pace Sir Michael, you might be gone but you are certainly not forgotten.
His life wasn't weird. It was different.

I disagree completely with the assessment because Thanks to videos the Jackson legacy will live on forever.
The sheer number of albums sold means even some of his forgotten songs will be revived anytime soon.

Thank you Scott for taking the time to do what you could. It's still hard to believe he is gone. It's strange, I sort of see the need for the security; the possibility of grave robbing for souvenirs, vandalism, even those who might try and steal his remains, but indeed, I also think there were better ways to handle this in such an already secure area; the tightened grip of protecting his remains only gives the impression further still that even in death, his family have such a grip on him to his fans.

It’s so sad, he loved his fans. Now he’s just alone in a corner. For these cemeteries to have so many celebrities they look like a very lonely place, I would think more fans would be there. Some graves are beautiful and some are just plain and sad looking.

Thank you and to the person who made it possible for you to get inside for giving us a tiny tour and showing us what you could show. I remember Michael once said that he would like to be put to rest near children, so he’d be surrounded by their pure spirits. It already broke my heart when Neverland was taken away from him, for that would’ve been the perfect resting place (yes, I know all the circumstances and reasons why that wasn’t possible, I’m just stating what would’ve been nice if our reality were a different one). It was also sad to see the guarded tomb before it was covered up - he had spent all of his life sequestered from the outside world, feeling lonely and trapped, even though the fans showered him with love wherever he went. His painful fate had even followed him into the grave. And now they even put a curtain in front of it. I understand the need for privacy and respect, so loved ones can visit protected from the public eye. I really do. But to think of how much he suffered in life because of the isolation, and to witness now how that continues for him, even in death ... it’s truly heartbreaking. I know people leave flowers and cards for him outside the entrance doors of Holly Terrace, but like you said, I think there should be a special spot outside that people are officially allowed to pay their respects, perhaps even light a candle, and leave flowers in. Because these are the fans who loved, supported, and defended him throughout his life. Having to leave bouquets and cards on the ground in front of closed doors, or in the dirt outside under his windows is very sad. Rest in peace, Michael, you’ll live on forever in our hearts, and we’ll make sure our children also know what a kind, pure, and gentle soul you were. We’ll keep your legacy alive. 💚

The family didn’t put him in the grave because people will rob his grave. He was a beautiful soul with a big heart inside and out.

I grew up listening to Michael Jackson and I am a fan and I have his cds Off The Wall, Thriller, and His Number Ones and I still remember when he first did the famous moonwalk he was so famous for on the song Billie Jean and I remember when the audience just want crazy when they seen him doing to for the first time on tv. This whole "show" they put on by hiding his grave, limiting access and all seems very suspicious to me. You can visit literally any other celeb's grave so easily to pay respects. Something is off about this for sure.

Finally made it inside bro ! Nice 👍🏼 it’s been covered now for a few years . People were getting in and going into the gate where mjs sarcophagus is and they would get caught be security hugging the tomb, posing in front of it for photos, and doing other things that they weren’t supposed to be doing so forest lawn decided to permanently place that covering that’s what I was told by a guard .
Wow, that’s so sad. It was beautiful before but the ugly barrier now is terrible. People should just respect the family’s wishes and leave him alone. The sun shining through the stained glass was amazing but now it’s hidden and once again he’s alone and separated from the rest.

I find it really sad they placed the curtain in front of his area. They used to have it on display but with guards next to it. Even in his passing we fans are still so far apart from him. As much as I wish his grave was more public, I respect Katherine’s wish to have it private, safe, and secure. For every billion ppl that loved him, there’s still ignorant trolls who disrespect him. The family doesn’t need his final resting place bothered or desecrated. I actually heard a rumor he was cremated and his ashes spread at Neverland, because Katherine was so scared crazy fans would try to dig him up. That’s wild. I think that’s just a rumor though because in the months after Mike’s death, there were armed guards at the mausoleum and I don’t think they’d do that at an empty crypt
They might. But spreading ashes in a place that was sold to some billionaire later on to do with as they please, that doesn’t make any sense at all. I very much understand his mother’s fear of his grave being vandalized or desecrated, but I’m not buying the cremation story. If they had managed to keep Neverland in the family, then yes. I would’ve believed it. But not under these circumstances.

I don’t understand why they have to cover this tomb. He would’ve wanted fans to pay their respects. He’s dead, years from now his family will regret not allowing fans to say goodbye. You can visit Elvis, Sinatra, many other equally famous people. This is the height of conceit on behalf of his family.

@Rob true only problem is it would be much harder to get to MJ because he’s at the bottom crypt of the sarcophagus which holds 4 caskets . You would literally need a special device or lots of man power to lift his casket out of the vault. His actual casket is under the steps of the sarcophagus he was lowered and pushed forward almost under the mausoleum floor.
@Rob 100% it's not a circus. The entertainer left us music. Theres no need for his final resting place and many others to be a tourist attraction. It would be carnage day in day out with fans in there.
