Very nice video, so precise, details are very usefull. I just changed one side, and I was quite worried because the caliper was difficult to put back in because of the plates I put back onto the new ones like you. Your video shows it is normal, you had the same difficulty. I also checked the thickness of the pads, mine are 17mm thick, from Bosch (model for Yaris) and I found that many other compatible models are 16mm or 16,5mm thick, which may be a lot easier to get fit. Thank's a lot.
Thank you so much. One of the most useful videos on you tube to prep me to do mine. Mine didn't come with any backing plates so hopefully will go in easier..
@@DaringBeefcake I did my front pads yday. Took a good 4 hrs as I was being super cautious. Also took all the clips and gave a good wire brush and a good dose of brake cleaner all round. It was a good opportunity to inspect other parts for wear. I cudnt squeeze the brake cylinders with a big pliers so used a G clamp instead.

with the Pads being so tightly fitted, will they be in contact with rotors as soon as you start driving? I got pads from Ebay, they claimed the pads fits Lexus CT 200h, as well as the Prius, but when I installed mine, the rotor would not even close. I tried everything I can think of. Jiggle the Caliper, compress the Piston again, etc... still could not close the Caliper. I'm thinking of returning my pads, and get OEM Lexus CT 200h brake pads.
ExMachina SC2 well they need to fit in but even i had mine a little tighter. But i had some extra metal plates which made it a bit harder. Better get oem though.
I'm gonna change 2014 ct200h front brake pads. Do I have deactive automatic brake control or disconnect - terminal before doing this project ? Thank you very much
I didn't have to do any of that to change the pads, all I did was open the brake fluid reservoir and ten proceded to change the pads. All the best with the change.
If you aren't turning your rotor or replacing them you're doing it wrong. Look at the massive lip on that rotor. I guarantee you have warp and hotspot issues. Those rotors are cheap, no excuses!

Great to hear!
I have the same car. And I'm about to change the pads myself. I'll post a video as well. Thanks for your video.
