I drank a lot of beer on back country roads in southern Ohio listening to this record over and over and over, occasionally throwing in a Mcguffey Lane tape just to let Bustin Out cool down.... !!
Sure am glad that Craig Fuller got to reprise “Amie” with his favorite band Pure Prairie League. Wonderful song, wonderful playing. Wish I could have been there.
Haha! Just saw this video. If I remember correctly, that was at Season Good Pavilion, Eden Park. They played a super show. They didn't want to stop when it was time, and a cincinnati police officer scurried around the stage looking for "the plug" to pull. The band finally ended the show, and picked it up again at The Big Bar in Covington. Great memories!
This song rocked my world in the 70's too!....i remember me, this song, vaseline and my puppte amie.... wow... what memories... HEY AIMIE WHAT YOU WANT TO DO???... ok... cool.... !
hes doing great! hes living near me now but abby just recently moved to tennessee with her mom, but i think her dads moving there later. abby's awesome and their whole family is great! craig goes golfing with my dad sometimes.
What a time to be alive by far the best that has come from cincinnati that's for sure I always thought they were from lebanon up by king's island but I just read they were from waverly
At the 2:28 mark, the very familiar radio version starts. I like this 1972 and 1975 version here as sung by Craig Fuller. I like it better than the Vince Gill version that VG sang when he was in Pure Prarie League for a few years.
I was at this concert (late 80's early 90's) at Eden Park in Cinti and it's a trip to see it here! The graininess just adds to mystique of a video this old! And Fuller sounds just as good now as he did then. Good to see Mike Conner who has since passed on. THANKS.
Vince and Craig are great - just look @ all the great sh**t folks from this era went on to do for our music that we all hold onto so tight... Music today will never have this kind of impact or staying power...
I saw PPL at the Plaza of the Americas at the University Of Florida (GO GATORS) around '76 or '77 (memories kinda fuzzy). I DO remember that it was a great show, and I've loved them ever since.
I wasn't going to reply to this, given that everyone seems to have given it a thumbs down, but it needs to be said. This is an excellent rendition of the work of this band. Just because you're used to the studio version, don't go and say a live version sucks. Every band changes up in concert the original versions of the songs they recorded. If you're going to condemn them for being creative, you should just shut it and stick to the albums instead.
I, too, am a great fan of Craig's vocals. Check out one of my videos you may appreciate if you haven't seen it or if you've never heard the song. It's Craig and Eric Kaz doing "Annabella" from their 1978 LP "Craig Fuller Eric Kaz".I thought it was a great song that totally got lost when it was released way back when. Hope you enjoy it. I tried to include a link but, for some reason, it will not post.
go back and listen to the first two albums with fuller. As good as the eagles. they also finally released a new album with fuller. "all in good time" a couple of years ago. tooo good again. Enjoy and lament they were gone so long.
Pure Prairie League made a live album called "Live" taking the stage. I believe it was in 1977. Craig Fuller was not in the band at the time, but the album is fantastic.
I lurved this track way back when grass made you laugh. I feel all huggy and warm and an urge to laugh at a biscuit!!! or was a lost slice of bread..rubber handlebars totally cracked me up..on an elastic highway
Craig Fuller he is the guy who sang Amie on the radio and the original singer of the band. Vince Gill came later its not his song just sang it in concerts. There voices almost sound a like that's why I never knew growing up in the 1980's that he wasn't the original singer plus Craig's voice is much smoother i like his voice better!
Don't know if you ever found it but Pure Prairie League did do a live album, 1977's "Live! Takin' The Stage", a 2 record set on RCA Records (CPL2-2404). It was during the time Larry Goshorn was singing the lead vocals.
it's kinda funny how i can enjoy slipknot and stuff like it and my all time favorite band is blink 182 which nobody here probably has never heard of watching this video but yet i still truly enjoy songs like this and many others. what an awesome song. so relaxing : )
Mike's Aunt Jenny lived across the street from me in Latonia. I was a HUGE fan. These guys were our hometown country rockers and we loved them so much....still do, just wish Mike was still around. Nobody better on the keyboard than him, ever.
My sister, named AMY was a senior in high school, and of course got at least (blond, cheerleader etc.) 15 copies of the Album. I still kid her about it... Although every time I hear it I think about her... well that is not fair at all, there is no Greg song!!! LOL
I would gratefully take pat if I may. I'll pay either way, Rapidshare free both or DVD/CD full cost including shipping, on me, same amount either way. My best girl friend, that's her name, this is my song..
@@ronmeek552 Correct. Vince Gill has a super voice but Fuller is better. A very unique voice with loads of super compositions. It was the heyday for PPL.
I guess people just don't know how to us the web. Vince Gill wasn't with the band when they first started. See original line up. Yes from Waverly OH and a dime
Plastic has become a bit iffy but not the way we thought. Imagine life without that plastic card in your wallet. Europe is about to melt down...globalisation is a pig
hidey, craig!! (who the frick is the big o fatboy that comes floating in around 4:30?? what a laugh!! gets in the camera & nests...probably the promoter)
Holy crap. I do this song better by myself. Sad when the recording artist(s) bastardize their own song. That was beyond bad. That was pure shit, pardon the pun.
Loved this song in my youth during the 70's. Me and all my friends in Cincinnati were learnng guitar and all of us wanted to sound like PPL.
I had this on 8-track back in the day.......wore it slap out on my player in my 69 Firebird! Good stuff!
Love this song, love the Band, still got the LP's baught in the seventies!!! wow great look back to my younger years, what a great time!!!!!!
Me to but don’t have anything to play it on.
Definitely in my 50 best Country Rock songs.........

These guys and the Marshal Tucker band are my 2 Favs of all time!!!
You must be my brother from another mother as those are my 2 faves also!!
Craig Fuller's daughter is one of my best friends. Abby Fuller. Her dad is amazing!
CarolineIsCurl pls let him know this video is still so great.
Simply one of the best country-rock songs of all time. Thanks for posting!!
Fabulous! So talented, such a great song and group!
Wow! This was wonderful 👏 ❤
I honestly don't really like country music but I love this song!
I totally agree.. this song and a country song (can’t remember the name of it ) by Bob Jovi..
Loved this cut on their album... Grabbed it on cassette when it came out and, played the tape off of it...
This song rocked my world in the 70's too!....i remember me, this song, vaseline and my puppte amie.... wow... what memories...
HEY AIMIE WHAT YOU WANT TO DO???... ok... cool.... !

Thank you Craig for the Neil House and Amie
You understand! I was class of 1979. Coming from St Roch, people at Franklin changed my life! LOVE PEACE TEACH OUR CHILDREN
Fifteen people thumbed down, because they're jealous they weren't there.
I saw them in a barn in Delmont, Pa ,folks were rollin in kegs of beer & rollin up all for $5
I'm jeolous
or the dawgshit video quality.
I was there, if this is Wyoming. My dad took me when I was 3 years old. It was my first concert. Nevermind just hear him say come on Cincinnati lol
A great tune back in the70s and still is.
What a time to be alive by far the best that has come from cincinnati that's for sure I always thought they were from lebanon up by king's island but I just read they were from waverly
Need more of this!

Love this song

Vince Gill played with PPL in 1979 and sang lead on Let Me Love You Tonight.
This is THE best version of this song... Wish I could find it on itunes.... Love it love it love it...
John David Call on pedal steel made this band what it was - unique. Craig can sing, but listen to the pedal steel solo at 4:56.
Best decade n best music

Fallin In and Out of Love was the song. I was 17. It was every dance.
MEMORIES...wow, takes me way back to simple, awesome life!!!!
Loved this band in the 80's, thanks for the reminder to dust off my vinyl!!
They did put out a live album "taking the stage" it was a double and I played the living sh*t out of it.
@klimber1000 it is craig fuller that is singing lead. he also played with little feat after lowell george passed away.
marcuskoncar sorry it took me 7 years but thank you for the info. This version is my favorite.
I saw PPL at the Plaza of the Americas at the University Of Florida (GO GATORS) around '76 or '77 (memories kinda fuzzy). I DO remember that it was a great show, and I've loved them ever since.
I saw that tour, they played Santa Cruz! Great gig!
Love it
WOW. 40 years..that's way before she was born

I expected Vince to be singing but this guy has a very nice voice too.
I think I saw them in 74 or 75 and Fuller was already gone. Sad. But still was a great concert.
In my opinion, Pure Prairie League was always so much better, whenever Craig Fuller was in the band, as in this clip.
I, too, am a great fan of Craig's vocals. Check out one of my videos you may appreciate if you haven't seen it or if you've never heard the song. Agreed that Fuller Kaz album is one of my all-time favorites!!
I think I could stay with you a while maybe longer if I do.........Love this to this day!!

Freak'in awesome live version

Craig Fuller wrote and sang this song! Not Vince Gill he didn't join the group till 1979.
I lurved this track way back when grass made you laugh. I feel all huggy and warm and an urge to laugh at a biscuit!!! or was a lost slice of bread..rubber handlebars totally cracked me up..on an elastic highway
They did have a live album it's called "takin the stage" recorded in 1978 I believe.
Craig Fuller he is the guy who sang Amie on the radio and the original singer of the band. Vince Gill came later its not his song just sang it in concerts. Amen

I wish that CRAIG FULLER would have performed this song wiht LITTLE FEAT.
Yanno, this little song just picks up all the silly assed things we do in our love lives.. plaintive and charming..
1978ish. Ben Franklin HS. Uptown New Orleans. I woulda never liked this song, except...she was so fine, overalls, Amy. Oh so fine...
@TheKathy0026 VInce Gill was originally in the band.
My sister, named AMY was a senior in high school, and of course got at least (blond, cheerleader etc.) 15 copies of the Album. I still kid her about it... Although every time I hear it I think about her... well that is not fair at all, there is no Greg song!!! LOL
Hey would you like a copy of this on dvd? It does look better.
Bob
where can i find this song with this intro on cd or online? i would like to buy it with this intro. its excelent
Ready?
It's a great song but SJB is a masterpiece in a class by itself.
Billy Hinds~~~~~where are you??
Good question. I have Lamb albums from that period with Hinds playing. Early PPL.
a good start
Billy Hines - drums
killer..
ranks up there with "suite for judy blue eyes".
Great condition clip, for a bootleg from the 80s!
How many original members were there?
Craig is my Cousin.lol
I don't know if they were better but Gill brought alot of his talent to the band.
Add the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band too
Awesome version!! I think the steal guitar player missed rehearsals lol
Bad picture but the best version of Amie, better than with Vince Gill is the original here.
Hi Bob,
Sure would be great. I posted the link on the Pure Prairie League website - check it out. Let me know what to do.
What happened in this group that made them want to get rid of Vince Gill?>
Thank ain't Vince Gill....He left for greener pastures as a solo act, He's has a lot of mouths to feed
I would gratefully take pat if I may. I'll pay either way, Rapidshare free both or DVD/CD full cost including shipping, on me, same amount either way. My best girl friend, that's her name, this is my song..
Judas priest. Never heard this tune with harmonica. Sounds great. Ya
Yeah, everyone seems so intense now. The jokes I used to laugh at are just laughed at now
Great song, but it looks like you videotaped this while watching it on TV. Quality sucks!
that ain't Vince Gill
George Houston Vince Gill came after Craig Lee Fuller in 1978, PPL was never as good with Gill.
@@ronmeek552 Correct. Vince Gill has a super voice but Fuller is better. A very unique voice with loads of super compositions. It was the heyday for PPL.

@breaktimewzk I can make you a copy. Email me your address - bkrider@zoomtown.com
Draft Dodger
Which was a great thing to be looking back. Drafts are very totalitarian and non-American in nature.
Plastic has become a bit iffy but not the way we thought. Imagine life without that plastic card in your wallet. Europe is about to melt down...globalisation is a pig
