Working on putting my sampler quilt together - your instructions and demo's are so clear and I love your explanations. Thank You for sharing your expertise to we newbies. You make this process less frustrating.
thank you for this video. i have made clothing for many years and have made quilt tops and helped the extended family to hand quilt...nothing fancy, just in and out. i havent sewn in about 30 years. being now widowed for a second time, I must find something that I physically can do. When I started collecting supplies and searching for block ideas...one of the 1st things I ran across was templates...I thought someone had lost their mind. You are the first one I've seen that actually shows how it is used.
This is great! I like your QAYG method better than any I've seen. Love that you give such detailed instructions as you go. This really has helped me a lot. I am a beginner quilter and I use my embroidery machine to quilt my blocks and will use your method to finish. Hope to try the templates at some point. Thanks a bunch!

thanks so much for handout, I been looking for different ways to QAYG but most of them wants you to buy the pattern just for one technique and I want all of different ones so would be very expensive
Does anyone know why the last strip used to finish the seam between two blocks (59:16) is folded and thus double layered, instead of single like the other strips used on the seam?
What foot do you use for the tack. Thank you. I am so glad to see how far you have advanced in ways of quilting. I will be 81 this year, have taught myself on quilting which I have a long way to go still but not enough time. You ladies today do beautiful beautiful work. Love watching all the videos on different ways of quilt as you go. What you showed on this lesson of the temp plates and tack was awesome. You are a very good teacher. Again thank you.
Thank you for sharing , I am a newbie , and I find that it is the easiest way to quilt as you go and when you stitch the blocks together the quilt is nearly finished completely
@@templatequiltingwithdonell6377 I am talking about the template with the mustache in a variety of sizes, and also where can I find the directions for the QAYG, the other lady there with you said there was a link at the top of the live chat, but now viewing the video there is no chat and there no links. @ Laura Sepcot - Because they act as a guide so you know where to put the template and your design comes out equal distance from the last "moustache" design. Of course you could try and eyeball where to put the template, but why make it hard on yourself and chance things coming out wonky?

I’ve wanted to do quilt as you go but was afraid to jump in. Thanks for showing me that it’s not that hard. You are an excellent teacher.
Thanks for watching! You can do this - this method is so easy!
Thank you for sharing the instruction sheets
Enjoyed that.

Hi Kath
do you have this ruler in a for low shank machines
Love how you explain every step so well..... Do you have a method of quilt as you go without sashing?
No. Not at this point.
How are you sewing that with a cutting mat underneath? Did I miss something?
That is is a glider that has a grid on it. It is not a cutting mat. Lol I know it does look like one.
Does anyone know why the last strip used to finish the seam between two blocks (59:16) is folded and thus double layered, instead of single like the other strips used on the seam?
Does anyone know where I can get this pattern and rulers?
So there is no raw edge on top. Once you see the back strip you can't see the top strip the same way. You will see when you try it.
What foot do you use for the tack. Thank you. I am so glad to see how far you have advanced in ways of quilting. Very nice. Thank you.
Where do I find the hand out, I’m a new quilter
Send me an email ( sewbiz@indy.rr.com ) and I will send it to you. It won't let me attached it here. Donelle
Could we have the direction to print PLEASE!
Hi Carol
Just got this template today 10/1/21
Can you list the ruler templates on this video. I save to possibly do at a later time
Hi how are you?
Oh,It just dawned on me that it is going to be joined by block 2 thus eliminating the raw edge. Right?
Thank you for sharing , I am a newbie , and I find that it is the easiest way to quilt as you go and when you stitch the blocks together the quilt is nearly finished completely
What about the right side of the last block in a row. Do I leave it free of the sashing
Yes. It will then be encased with the outer binding.
Do you have video on how to make the QUILT AS YOU GO blocks?
On the sashing at the back of block 1, it is upside down when stitching. It has a raw edge though. So do you have to fold the 1” sashing?
I am watching this on TH-cam, where would the template be. You mentioned it would be at the top, but I don’t see it?
No template is attached here
How to make the sashing like 2 inches wide?
Hi from Florida
My handout does not look like yours. Yours looks easier to see what you are doing.
Hi Judy
Can you put the link for the template in the show more under the video, as there is no chat to view on you tube for the re-watching this video, TIA.
I am not sure what you are asking for. Give me more information. Thanks!

Where do you get the templates?
Hello Kathleen
Why do you not add the third block on each row
Dose your sewing machine have a stitch regulator? Or are you just free motion quilting and how do you keep stitches from being to loose or to tight?
What is the of the seam tape
Please explain what you mean. Any products shown are on my website. www.sewbizmarion, com.
@@templatequiltingwithdonell6377 I meant the tape you put under the joining strip when doing quit as you go.
Oh my goodness! Where are you located? Do you conduct retreats? I do much better with face to face instruction. This is a great tutorial!
Did you miss two lines on the left side?

Hi Cindy
Looking for the template
I am not sure what you are asking for. I don't have a template for the sashing.
