Good information. When you square your blocks make the star block points at least 1/4 in from the edge, otherwise you lose the point on your stars when you sew them together.

Hi. Thanks for the post. Suggestion: If you join first the bottom with a one inch strip and the top with a folded two inch strip, wouldn't you be able to better control the outcome of your stiching? All "mishaps" of the joyning would be on the backing, wouldn't they?..... Just saying!

Your hair looks fantastic. I love the way the quilt is coming together. Thank you and all for the prayers. When the surgeon injected the alcohol the heart attack was so painful I passed out. The second time he brought me back to, I wanted to punch him in the face. LOL! It didn't really hurt anymore and it was so peaceful before he brought me back. But the surgery was a great success. I can already breathe easier and no longer have pain or fluttering in my chest. For well over 30 years I had been told it was mitral valve prolapse, when it never was that. I watched your last video before this one also but didn't comment. I'm just beginning to get my strength back up and will be starting physical therapy as soon as the virus takes a break again. Take care and see you soon. 💗😊💗

What size squares did you use? I'm thinking of 9 or 10 inch finished blocks. Great tutorial! For 2" [finished] sashing, cut 2 1/2" for the front and 4 1/2" [folded] for the back. This creates a wider space on the back, so cut a strip of batting for the inside. Then sew the seam closed by machine or by hand,, if you want it to be invisible.

    • @TheCraftyAuthor

Rosalee- No. The strips are not as thick. The strip is just a single piece of fabric, with the exception of the 2" strip which is ironed in half. The batting should butt up together with the blocks and the rows to make the thickness for the sashing. I hope that makes sense. 😊

Not sure if anyone has asked, but where to start from top block down or from left to right block to joining blocks?

Terry, it is a special foot for your sewing machine that moves the top and bottom fabric evenly together...it 'walks' .Most regular sewing machine feet tend to move one layer faster than the others.
