    So after testing this jacket in heavy rain it isn’t waterproof as stated on the website more like water resistant but as a shell jacket it doesn’t what it needs to.
    I just wish companies wouldn’t mark clothing as waterproof when it is really water resistant.

    So great looking coat etc,etc also messaged revolution about inconsistencies in description and received this reply
    Quote
    "The WP rating on the label in the jacket is the European measurement, and the one listed on the website is the Japanese one, which is more commonly used in this branch to rate the waterproofness of a garment. Most of our competitors use the Japanese WP rating so we decided we would too, however the jackets were already produced at the time so we could not update the information on the label. It will done for the next batches and does not impact the ability of the garment in any way - the degree waterproofness is the same, just 2 different measures, like Celsius and Fahrenheit degrees :)"

      Darren Anderson yeah I had same reply. I just hate how different companies have inconsistencies between waterproof and water resistant.

    Thanks for this review! Just wondering since there seems to be quite a bit of disparity about the website: currently, the website now says this Silence Pro Shell is 20,000 mm instead of 15,000 mm. Do you think this is accurate, and have you had a chance to try this "version" they have now?

    • @Vildmark
      @Vildmark  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven’t tried the new version and yes the fabric has been changed. The one I tried was definitely not waterproof. Have a look at the cyclone rescue jacket. That is fully waterproof and really nice to wear.

    Hey Vildmark, thanks for the review. Mind telling me what kind of boots are the ones you put on at the beginning of the vid? Lots of ruberized parts on them from what I can tell.

    Brilliant review, been looking at a few myself and the not fully waterproof is my worry, i've had my eye on the Hyper jacket ( Softshell) don't suppose you've had any experience with that item ? Thanks.

      I don’t sorry. If your after a good waterproof have a look at the review on the fern skjold. That is the best packable waterproof I’ve had.

    Thx for the review, I was going to buy this jacket, but won't be now. I can't see the point of putting waterproof zips on the front, if the jacket itself isn't waterproof. It's a shame. I have their trousers which are great.

      Trousers are great I love them. I have been sent to the packable waterproof jacket from fjern outdoors I need to review. That looks a great jacket.

    Hello, have you had a chance to wear it out in rain? How good it is and for what temperature range would you recommend it? Thanks!

    • @Vildmark
      @Vildmark  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aexoero V thanks for contacting. Yes I have tried this out in heavy rain and isn’t as waterproof as it states on the Revolution Race website. This jacket is water resistant not waterproof. In a heavy down pour it did leak. As for temperature range. It is a shell jacket so has next to no thermal properties other than protecting you from loosing heat due to wind.
      I do hate companies that don’t know the difference between waterproof and water resistant

      @@Vildmark thank you so much for the info! Yeah it sucks when you put your trust in a product just to found out that's not like described. I know it's a shell but i thought it will keep some warm cause it would trap some body heat inside. I looked over their cyclone jacket, seems more like a waterproof material than this one. I have their GPX Pro pants and i like them thats why the interest in a jacket too. You took the XXL right? How tall, how much you weight? Im just 1.75m and 90kg thought the L would fit me but i dunno and after you say that the jacket leaks it sure doesn't worth 119 euros!

      Aexoero V if your after a waterproof layer I would go down this route but it is a nice jacket. A good priced waterproof layer is the fjern outdoors okran. vildmark.co.uk/adventures/fjern-orkan-waterproof-shell-jacket/

      Neeman Callender it’s ok it’s better than the last jacket I had. I just wish someone would make a jacket bibbed at the back in this style.
      You can find woodsman / bushcraft jackets like this but they are really heavy
