As a skier I bought one of these to add to my other shells and jackets. I rarely ever ski in the rain, snow is more the reality so the fully waterproof aspect of my gear needs to be good but not 100%. If the forecast is for snow, I simply use one of my other shells, however the Cyclone jacket has actually kept me dry in snow. There are so many other features that for the money I feel this jacket is a solid addition to my outdoor gear hoard. Also in the winter there is the mid layer and the base layer before I feel any sort of wet.
Thanks for the review. Bought one of these around a year ago for cycling and it progressively lost its waterproof features. It also lets in draughts. Looks cool, fits well tho
I can’t remember the last time I bought a new jacket! I mostly use North Face and Helly Hansen. Always tend to buy second hand or if I’m lucky flea market finds. My best find was a goose down North Face 550 jacket that was in perfect condition for 30euros! It was covered in Husky hair but cleaned up like new 😅. Yep I’m poor 🤣🤣🙈 Or tight with money one or the other……
I have this same jacket. I did have problems with the inner seals un sticking at the bottom of the jacket. Contacted revolution race and they refunded me a part payment to get the jacket repaired. Which I thought was good of them. All it needed was the end bits that were unstuck cut off and abit of glue. The pocket on the left arm near the cuff is for a ski pass 😊. My only concern about this jacket is it's weight. I too have the west highlands ways coming up in July and I I'm unsure if I'll take this jacket due to the weight. I do however really like the jacket and it has kept me dry on a couple of occasions.
They seem to have a really good customer service to be fair. I think I will be taking this jacket because I know the weather can be pretty extreme up there and I want something I know will keep me dry. I took a bit of a heavier weight one when I walked Snowdonia and my mate took a lighter one. I was nice and warm and he was freezing
I’ve a rr cyclone I tested it by accident in Norwich city Center at night ,it was lashing down when I left where I was and got lost badly so had to run 30mins to get the last train and I’m fat lol, On the train I took it off and I was dry and I was really surprised there was no condensation inside, and they look good ,ive now got my wife one ,will deffo look at the trousers ,ive a couple of normal pairs and they are brilliant walking trousers,,great review buddy and a great company to deal with they give you time to cancel your order if you change your mind ,and message you to see if alls ok ,can’t recommend enough, x,
To be honest they look like a cracking set of wets. You can see they have really thought about the layout and functionality of the top and bottom’s. Vents are something I’ve always looked for in a hiking waterproof jacket but unfortunately it seems to be the the downfall of them all, every single jacket I’ve used with vents have leaked. Keen to see how you get on with these, like I said they look really well made. 👍
Just got myself an all red cyclone set today, I have been looking at their products for a while and after the last days meteorological events here in Northern Italy I decided it was time to get a good high visibility (and quality) set that I can wear whenever I'm hiking or doing other things in bad weather before resorting to my civil defence uniform if things get really bad. After reading all the comments to the video I'm just asking myself if I should buy their water repellent kit before having to get myself wet if some parts won't be waterproof anymore someday. Also I hope you had great times and experiences during this year, I'll definetly look at some of your other videos later. Cheers 👋
Hi there pal I've had mine for over a year now with no waterproof issues. Not sure why other people have experienced that. But I haven't had any need to reproof it as yet and have worn it to death 👍
It'll be interesting to see the gear put to the test. Jacket looks very similar in design to my Rab Latok except its price is less than half of what I paid for my Rab. If the gear stands the test its looks an absolute bargain especially with the 20% discount too.
Thanks for the review. I have a question comparing the Cyclone Rescue Pants vs Silence ProShell Pants. How "silent" are the cyclone pants for rain clothes? I wonder if its worth going with the Silence version instead, but the cyclone look like the more high quality line overall. Just wondering about the silence part. :)
shwmae butt! great vid as always! im doing the west highland way in May too! what date are you gonna set off!? might see you on my travels boyo! ill be sure to buy you a beer if I do, and give you a run for ya money in can Olympics! Take care!
I have this jacket. All i will say is don't put your trust in it in really bad weather, or slightly bad weather. It takes abot 10 minutes in heavy rain for it to totally wet out. For £169 go for a Keela Munro or Montane, Rab 2.5 membrane goretex. Its also really heavy.
Morning Adam, great to be back catching up on your content & adventures after 6 months overseas in a remote area. I was after a new waterproof jacket & having had some RR Hiking trousers previously of which I was very impressed with, it's good to see you review these. I do like the amount of fantastic colours, & as you say really thought out designs/looks. Does the jacket compress well? & is it flex enough when wearing? I only ask as they like the trousers i have are quite "slim fit" & just wondered what the jacket would feel like with a full multi day load on your back.
I'm doing a week with this jacket soon so I will let you know! The trousers are indeed a little more tight than the jacket. I will be taking them along as well though so I'll find out soon for you. I'm wearing the nordwand pro trousers right now which I highly rate
How noisey is the jacket? Fancied their gear for a while. My current waterproof is Mountain Equipment Rupal.. it's like wearing a bag of walkers crisps & for that reason I hardly wear it unless it's forecast to be real wet. Love the colour of the jacket you picked, I am one for bright colours. 😂
I've been looking at this set for a while now. Looks like a good set of clothing for hiking in. I'll be sure to check out your thoughts after the West Highland Way. Great stuff 🤙🏻🪓🤙🏻
Been looking at this brand for a while and wanted to know if it’s worth the price. Great review dude and I love that waterfall. Didn’t know it was in a Batman film till we’d visited 😂. Have great week mate 🤙🏽
”Looks bad ass” thats about it. Worthless against the rain, both, jacket and trousers. If you looking for clothes against elements and especially the rain, don’t bother with Revolutionrace, you get what you pay for…..
The pocket on the sleeve is actually for skiing. Normally your ski pass is like a credit card thing. Just to let you know.
Cheers 😊👍

Some good info there I think it's more aimed towards skiing as I realised afterwards the arm pocket is for a ski pass

Mines still going strong at the moment but I will look out for that thanks

Sounds like a good idea if you can find second hand stuff then happy days 👌

The big test will be Scotland now I'll either be happy with them or miserable for a week 😆
How was the jacket for scotland? I bought the jacket as well and am worried about how waterproof it actually is..
@ElisaRodriguezelisa_alien well here's the video th-cam.com/video/uc_GoQF3u58/w-d-xo.html it did me well there and ever since

@@MrWildWalesthat's great to hear, thanks for the quick response, have a nice day
Secondo te li vale 200€ la Cyclone? Come ti stai trovando?
Looks a ace bit of kit
Legend as always 🤟 love the end miserable part of the vid! 😅😂😂
😆cheers pal 👊

I've used them out and about for short times and the rain just bounces off. We will see how they last now 👍
How has the gear stood up over time . There are some bad reports out there
I still use it all the time in the rain and I stay dry 😄
lol when you first said you had to test before ending the vide I swear you were gonna jump in the stream :) Awesome falls!
I was going to stand under the waterfall 🤣
I am 175 and i want a Bagger fit what size?😊
Not far off my size I've got the large and it's plenty big enough for layers underneath with room to spare
Where is that wonderful watetfall?
That is Henrhyd falls mate!
@MrWildWales thanks for the reply sir! Defo a spot I will add to the evergrowing list :)
Looking good!!
It's very good I'm still using it

The trousers are definitely a bit noisy to walk in. You do forget about it pretty quickly mind. The jacket is amazing though.
I already have the jacket, it is indeed amazing. Just hard to decide with all the trousers options around @@MrWildWales
If you do go for the trousers size up one or two because they are slim fit
Did you end up getting the trousers? I am wondering if I should go cyclone or silence
@@archieatkins3022 I tried all of them and they didn't fit for me. Neitehr L nor XL. I went with the Whisper Pants in the end.
OK but are they actually waterproof ?
Hasn't come through since yet

Oh dear its coming on the West highland way with me 😆 we will see now
Have heard this from so many people. They advertising they are so waterproof but no. All their lineup har much problem with waterproofnes
Mine works fine in heavy rain 🤷

Yes I've got the Norwand Pro in olive green & deep orange/brown. Good luck on the then trek out & look forward to seeing the video.

Hmm can't say I've noticed it making a racket so it can't be too bad. Probably hear more from the trousers I think.
Which one is more red?
Lava or red ?
Lava is more of a dark orange
I've been looking at this set for a while now. Looks like a good set of clothing for hiking in. I'll be sure to check out your thoughts after the West Highland Way.

Nice bit of kit there buddy, im not jealous......much 😂
Nice one man!
I am 172 cm for 64 kg and unfortunately their apparel is not slim/snug fit.
Yes I've noticed there is a bit of give in the jacket but it is probably for layering up
A good reviewer would have stood on the rocks under the water😂😂
Can't see them working with the stream up to my waist 🤣

Worked well for me so far in fact I was wearing the jacket last night 😄👌
So long it doesn’t rain , yes it’s no problem. Revolutionrace jackets are only for dog walking in the rain and even that barely…
I must have got lucky with mine coz it keeps me dry 😊
