- How to change the engine ignition coils on a 2006 Mercedes C230 V6 Automatic. Save money & do it yourself!
My vehicle engine light was flashing and giving misfire codes. When I press the gas pedal it barley accelerated. Vehicle began moving slow/slugish. Also began vibrating. After changing the fuel injectors, spark plugs, spark plug wires, mass air flow sensor, oil filter nothing happened. My last bet was the ignition coils.

When you threw that front engine cover piece on the ground like you just dgaf no more, had me rollin'. 😂😂
Lol ya this car was a pain in the ass turns out it was a small manifold air leak. Took it to a body shop/mechanic and they welded a piece over the manifold to seal the leak.

I just read you sold the car but for knowlege, this engine has several other issues and manifold damaged is one of that. usually a lever broke and can be replaced for U$20. the entire manifold would cost u$800-U$1100 on dealer shop.
Finally, there are C320 outside the US but it is V8. My c230 is v6 not compressor too.

yes these mercedes are a pain in the ass! my friend has one now and his Manifold has 2 leaks from 2 different sides. A mechanic told him we can try welding somthing onto the holes in the manifold or just replace whole thing for $1300
and no problem good to know it helped :)
mlemmi hey bro I’m having the same problem with the same car and my guy told me it could be the manifold or thoes one of those two levers In front of the manifold are messed up so I’m stuck I dt know what to do next .
Whoever decide to have a Mercedes needs to be prepare to expend a lot of money . Handy person can safe some money . Question: is Duralast a good brand for parts including for
Mercedes Benz?. I also heard people say is good idea to change spark plugs when you change ignition coils

Hey bro I just started having this prob I have the same car I already replaced almost the same stuff and nothing so my next thing is to see if the manifold is leaking but I also herd it could be one of the little levers in front of the manifold . Hit me back I wanted to ask u a few questions about it thanks in advance
i am really sorry i just saw this brother! But after i changed the coils it fixed the issue for my car for 2 weeks then same issue happened again. Turns out i had a manifold leak and my mechanic wanted $800 just to weld a new piece onto the manifold to seal the air leak.

So those coils that were misfiring did you by any chance remove then put them back
yes i tried cleaning the old ones and putting them back in, it did nothing. So i went and bought new ones. Turns out i had a small manifold leak which is like $800 to fix.
Ahmed Hachem what about the price of the part of the manifold? was it the air intake or mass flow sensor. Im not too familiar with mechanic work thanks
Jerardo Palacios if there’s a leak in manifold you have to replace the whole manifold or wield something on top to close the leak...
Jerardo Palacios has nothing to do with the sensors unless it’s your sensors that are bad.

Ahmed Hachem Dam bro i have one exactly the same and not alot of people have these Thats why i was interested in how it was looking bro but yeah there expensive ive had mine for like 4 months and ive wasted over 600 in repairs so far there pricey
