      $500 02 @ 240k 25k miles behind on oil change 😢 cant kill the m112

I have an '03 C230 Coupe, Kompressor. Bought in 2019 w.193K mi. very clean int. black leather, maroon ext. working panorama sunroof, garaged by a old lady who had all the dealer maint. records.
Her son sold it for 4000. after she died, whomever did the oil changes put a bit too much oil and it would drip so I started doing my own changes with 4.5 qts. check the levels after 15 miles driven, just added .5 or 1 qts as specified on the panel. I've never had a drippage issue since I do the filter from the top by hand. Still on the original transm. fluid at 125K miles in 2024! No leaks, I owned a repair shop myself so I'm used to getting under the cars and writing up servicing on autos 👌
I've had it serviced at South Bay Mercedes in San Diego as needed just so they have a file on the car. Belt tensioner, Transm. mount, brake bleed, lower radiator hose cracked at the mfg. clamp, purge valve, plugs, coil set... Had a smoke test at the gas tank done and repaired it (the '05 c230 has known issues for the tank neck leak, not the '03)...
So I could do the fuel filter myself and later as needed, the fuel pump. I'm still on the original pump/parts, I got no problem replacing parts OEM off eBay... I cleaned the MAF sensor myself, tune ups, slotted brake rotors, new Toyo tires for the new powder coated chrome rims get lots of compliments 👍
This 2003 model is a joy to work on, the transmission is fantastic, its very reliable as a daily or weekly driver. I tinted my windows, new Alpine head unit, amp for the 12" sub! Clifford car alarm ☝️
My only complaint is, I put it in a carport, the rain got to the bumper creases and I new a new bumper package now. Many options, I can wrap it if I want to...
The p0171 code has been an intermittent issue but the shop I use cant replicate it when I drag it in... Once I replace the cyl. 1 plug and/or all of them, the code disappears. Its kind of an oddity. I'm doing the valve cover gasket and injector set this fall, just because I delayed doing it in 2021.
I bought a 2002 Tacoma and 2019 Rogue --- I mostly park my Benz to not run up miles. Insurance is only 53. per month on it I love it!!

It's all about who maintains the vehicle. So many mercs that could easily go 200,000+ Miles but end up getting trashed and abused by prior owners who aren't meticulous or sloppy with maintenance on these cars. I personally like the w203 w202(4 cylinder) versions.
Best of luck with all of your future projects.

I’m looking into a 2007 c230, the owner says he has one person coming to look at it today and if he doesn’t show up it’s mine. He said the only problem is the front shocks and it has a dent in the door. Hopefully nothing too serious but ever since I saw the car I’ve been liking Mercedes more. Hopefully God can come through for me. It only has 130k miles.

I bought a 2006 C230 sport for 2995. I had a lot of the same issues u had. I bought all aftermarket performance parts, put 5500 into it and now its a BAD MFer! Whole suspension, rims/tires, blacked it out, small engine upgrades, exhaust, new grill, hood ornament...ppl have offered me 11k! Put in the work, research, and it can be a bad machine! Patience and research my friend

My code reader show a P2212 and a P2004. Should I still take it to the shop to have the read it. Just because the have 50k code reader to my 25 dollar reader. Just want to make sure.

A huge red flag is corny knock offs huge wheels, slammed suspension, etc. Don’t buy garbage with no service history. Tons of these cars in the hood that have the same oil in them since new. 🙄
