      Did similar inc tefl teaching few yrs ago...onnut area in bk nice...try teaching in ayutthaya,great unknown historical place stay banks of river not in city. Also sisaket in rural area need uk teachers. Ban phe near rayong is not bad little base on coast, as u can go south or to island. Also try koh mak instead of Chang if u want peace idyllic, amazing by jet boat or koh wai. Trat is ok, based there few weeks, not much apart from nt mkt and couple of historic streets outside of main town.

    Hey man, just want to say that as a young man stuck in Australia because of vaccination requirements to leave the country after I spent 3 years living in Thailand, I really appreciate your videos bro. It really helps me escape from my depressing existence in Australia back to thinking about all the fun I had living over in Thailand.

      Same here! Maybe I'm not so young (!) but yes, can't wait to get back there, was fun living there in 2018. Was all booked and paid to go back in June 2020 for good ... alas, now waiting too ...

    • @BigDongEmperor
      @BigDongEmperor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@sliceout9040 yeah but I'm not comfortable with getting any of the vaccines because of the health risks for young men

    • @sliceout9040
      @sliceout9040 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@BigDongEmperor The benefits outweigh the potential risks by far. Especially as infection rate worldwide is exploding due to Omikron. You are basically guaranteed to catch covid sooner or later if you are not vaccinated and you want to be protected when it happens. Its your choice obivously but i strongly encourage you to get vaccinated, even more so as you said not being able to travel at all takes a toll on your mental health. And frankly, unvaccinated travel will be a very long time to go if it comes back at all. Have a good one :)

    Welcome to almost normal. I lived in Bangkok for the last 4 years and just moved to rural southern Thailand. Loved the city but I wanted to get back to the country. I worked in NYC for most of my life and Bangkok is like NY in so many ways but much more affordable and enjoyable even if your not a millionaire. Hahaha. Enjoy my TH-cam friend😀

    I love Bangkok and can hardly wait to get back there, but it was definitely not love at first sight. My first couple of visits it was just a stopping point on my way to or from other places, but I found that the more time I spent there, the more it grew on me. It looks like that is what you are experiencing as well.

    I live in Thailand near Pattaya for nearly 7 years. I am married to a special and beautiful Thai woman for almost 13 years. I came to Thailand for the first time more than 25 years ago and it was love at first sight and it was an even greater love when i met my wife and ever since i have never failed to come here every year, until i am permanently moved to Thailand , as I have already
    said about 7 years ago.

    Change is good Paddy, I'm glad you are resetting in BKK a bit, but trust me, if you focus on establishing yourself more, doing remote work and finding a good partner to help you, NE Thailand is better than what you experienced. You explored this area using a VERY rough method and considering that you did well, but are higher levels of life for you to experience. Even just having a car or truck here is SO transformative. TH-cam is not going to make you rich, but it helps. Also, I know what you mean about the search terms being way better there. It's glacial channel growth outside BKK and Pattaya. I really recommend, add some online work to your workflow. I'm happy to help if you ever need.

    Just remember this, Paddy.. carbohydrates, alcohol When it enters the body, it is the sugar itself. You can slim down without the insane amount of exercise just by avoiding carbs, alcohol, and sugar. When our bodies stop taking on them, our bodies start to burn fat and sugar instead, and you'll lose weight quickly without the insane amount of exercise or starvation you suffer. All of this is similar to the ketogenic principle. /wish you good luck and success, Paddy.💪🙏🏻

    Hi Paddy, I have been to Bangkok so many times and never been to this place, Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park and Botanical Garden. It looks so much like the quiet countryside and might be good to have a chill day? Also try the klongs, they have long boat taxis and it really shows you the back waterways. The closest to you would be at the south of Asok, the boat taxis run along there. You can get a boat and see how the locals travel. Thank you for showing me places that I have never been to. Carry on the good work and good luck with the channel for the coming year.

    Getting to 'know' Bangkok - what I did during my first visit (2003/4) was to wander to a bus stop at the end of the soi where I was staying in Ramkhamhaeng, and just get on a random bus. I would just get off when I spotted something that looked interesting, and start to wander the streets and alleys for a couple of hours before looking at a map to find out where I was and work out a rough route to get back to my apartment.
    It was normally at this point a local would approach and show me my location, then suggest a few other spots worth a visit. As well as advising on where to get lunch.
    Wear comfortable shoes if doing this :)

    Hey Paddy, you sound refreshed! I’m so glad you are going to get stuck into Bangkok. I lived there back in the 90’s and it was a lot different than it is now but it still had so many interesting things about it. I recommend checking out the Jim Thompson house. It’s very serene and interesting. Soi 38 has great food.
    I am so excited to see your next videos.

    G day Paddy. I have spent a lot of time in Bangkok over many trips over 30 years and one place I recommend for everyone to visit, is ,Adhere the 13th Blues Bar. Avery small bar which sells nice small meals and good drinks, with some of the best blues music that you will hear anywhere . Pretty much the coolest bar in Bangkok. It is a couple of kilometres from Khosan Rd. If it is open again after Covid, please give it a try. Cheers

    While I'm not one to iron a t-shirt, I do love a bit of routine. For many years I was a travel photographer--mainly resorts but also pure travel stories. I loved setting off from my apartment to the airport to points across the globe. BUT, I loved coming home again and having a bit of routine too. (COVID slammed the door shut on any travel work but luckily I have my own photo studio and shoot for other clients beside travel). I would guess the weight will just peel off once you get your metabolism fired up every day. Good luck with your new fitness regime.

    I got back to the UK about 6 months ago after living in Bangkok for a year and a half, so weird seeing you vlogging just down from where I was living on Sukhumvit road haha. I can't say I agree that its the best city in the world, but its definitely not all as bad as everyone makes it out to be and there are for sure some great things to see and do. Interested to see what you get up to in the coming weeks!

    Cool video as always. Love your content.
    Loved the few weeks I spent in Bangkok and Koh Chang when I went there on holiday few years back, so I get why you made this your “home”.
    PS: I don’t think staying for 6-8weeks qualifies as making this your “new home”, it’s more of a temporary stay but who am I to criticise this small fact. Got a feeling the stay will become longer than this tho😃enjoy every single day
