    You did such a beautiful job making this video. I can't even put into words how much you make me and everyone feel like family. I believe in making budget friendly meals and in decorating my home. I shop Thrift Stores, Goodwills and Clearance racks. I hate paying full price. All the clothes our 5 boys wore to school came from Yard Sales and Thrift Stores. And they looked good. Keep doing your down to earth videos. God blessed you with a gift to help and teach others. How to be Crafty, Economical and to show how to have and keep God in your heart. God bless you and your family.

    You can do shelled with tails on yet uncooked too. But shrimp are done as soon as they turn pink. They only take like 3 minutes or less. If they're tough they are over done.

    • @rosiyoder458
      @rosiyoder458 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have grilled shrimp so often in the last few weeks trying to figure out what's the best way because ours too were tough. We discovered the uncooked unpeeled worked best and like you said as soon as they turned pink take them off the grill. We also think we were marinating them too long. If you have more hints, I would love to hear them😊

    Yum we had the same thing this past week! Shrimp tip, after my shrimp are thawed I peeled all the shells off and then we skewered them. my husband lightly brushed some barbecue sauce on them as they grilled and the key to them not getting hard is not letting them on too long, so like just a few minutes when they just start getting pink you know they’re done and trust me they’ll be delicious! 😋
    I think my fam would love that chicken dish so I need to put that on my list. Thank you!

    • @LynetteYoder
      @LynetteYoder  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think I will need to do that if I get the same ones! Although what’s the benefit of getting them uncooked with shells if you take them off before cooking? 😄🤷🏻‍♀️ just wondering!! I love shrimp so I need to perfect them!

      @@LynetteYoder If you like shrimp maybe you would like The Pioneer Woman"s recipe for Spicy Shrimp. I don't use quite as much lemon juice or Worcestershire Sauce, but i do add lots of Old Bay.

    Wow Lynette it all looked so good! Just a tip on the shrimp - I have found if you cook them too long they will be tough. Just want to cook until they turn pink. I have made the ranch potatoes from another video where you made them & they are amazing. I like the cooking videos. Just gives me some new ideas. Seem to get in a rut cooking.

    I love rhubarb. I make a similar chicken dish, will try the potato’s they look yum😋 your video was great! I hate knowing what to cook everyday, as my husband has gotten older he has gotten pickier. We have half of a beef coming Monday, and we had more beef than we thought. I cook 3 or 4 pks of bacon in the oven on a parchment line cookie sheet and put it in the freezer. It’s great for the lake, or bits for Denver’s, omelette’s or throw in a Caesar salad. Bacon and tomato sandwiches. Have a blessed day Lynette💕👍

    Hi, thanks for a great video. It's so fun to get some easy different dinner ideas. Just as a tip, the shrimp may have been tough because of the dressing. If you leave seafood to marinate in acidic things, like the vinegar in dressing, the acid starts cooking them in the fridge and can make them tough.

    What I do having been born and raised on the coast of Maine is I put the veggies on their own stick and let them cook a little bit longer. I put my shrimp on sticks alone and they should be the shape of the C when they are done not the shape of an o once they curl close to touching they are going to be rubbery. Just an FYI.

    Loved this video, thank you for sharing it! I grew up in ND and we had a huge wild patch of rhubarb. My little friends and I would get a cup sugar and go sit out in that patch, break off the stalks and dip them in sugar and eat it. My grandmother used rhubarb to make pie, crisp, cakes, and bars. My go-to recipe is Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken from Dani Spies at Clean and Delicious. It's chicken, bell pepper, onion, and chipotle flavored salsa. I've used any kind of salsa and it's great, but I do like the chipotle better. I make enough for a couple of meals and leftovers.

    I like to make a chicken & veggie dish. Super easy to make. I use chicken thighs instead of chicken breast though. Cut chicken into bite size pieces. Dice a small onion, head of broccoli, 2/3 small zucchini, cherry or grape tomatoes. Combine and add salt, pepper, 2 small pieces of garlic minced and 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Bake at 450 degrees about 25 minutes until veggies are slightly charred. Serve with salad, rice or pasta. I found this recipe on Pinterest. Ill see if I can link it! 🤗

    I love all of your videos! You are a good cook, I think what you make is awesome and family friendly. I am definitely going to make the chicken and nachos for dinner. I don’t know why I never think to make nachos for dinner. Great video!

    Really enjoyed this video. You gave me several food ideas that I plan to use for myself. You mentioned rhubarb being a Mennonite thing but I would say it is a Midwest thing and it looked really good.

      Lynette Yoder..Answering that video also taught me how to spell Mennonite. I lived with Mennonites in my area but never had to write the word. Rhubarb probably doesn’t grow in Florida but here in Wisconsin is is a sure sign of spring. Every farm and most yards have rhubarb growing. You and Megan Fox have showed me different ways Mennonites live and dress. Our Mennonites dress and live much differently.

    Looked very good to me (with the exception of the shrimp, I have a thing that I won't eat it unless it's breaded)! Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Lynette and family. I recently came across your channel and I was very interested in learning more about Mennonite cooking, baking, lifestyle etc, so I subscribed to your channel immediately. Please, please can you share more Mennonite recipes with us. I esp was happy when I saw your rhubarb dessert in this video, but disappointed that there was no footage or recipe for it??!. I love simpler lifestyles and cooking, based around the family. Cheers from sunny Tampa :-)
