- In this video I try to fix a Velo Solex that belongs to a viewer of my channel.
Is a wonderful old Velo Solex 2200 that has not been running for years!
What I was expecting to be a quick and easy fix, turned out to a bit of a ordeal...
But noting beats hearing a old engine coming back to life.... but will that happen?

Nice bit of work there Seppo in spotting the missing copper ring , people like me who don't know about these mopeds would probably have taken a month of Sundays to work out the problem.

Yes, you can helicoil. The inserts go quite small. You need to offset the hassle of doing that against the price of a new pump to see if it's worth it. It also may not seal as well as the original thread.
Yea... better to get a new pump... but always fun to try to fix stuff instead of changing parts... :)

Takker for de gode velo fif :) meget brugbart. jeg er blevet ejer af et par velo'er og vi er ved at få en lille club op at her på lolland. er der nogle steder du kan anbefale for reservedele og dæk ??
