  • I bring you the #1 sales trainer in the world, Tom Hopkins. The thing about sales is that every human is a salesperson, whether you're convincing your partner on what restaurant to go to, or your child to pick up their toys, you're selling. This episode not only dives deep into sales but also the psychology of a highly successful individual. The humility of Tom touched my heart and I believe a lot of you who want to improve your communication will benefit from this episode.

    I love Tom Hopkins, he was my inspiration to do good in Real Estate in 1974. I traveled with a group of new salespeople with him to Hawaii for a 10 day seminar that he had at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Hawaii. God bless.❤

    In 98 I was short on money even while working a full time job.
    I was still somewhat new in the US and English was not as good. I took a job in sales. I was hired to sell credit card balance transfers over the phone for Fleet Bank(later Bank of America).
    I spent two week on the phone and one night I logged in to start taking calls my manager asked me to come into his office to have a chat.
    I knew I was getting fired since I had not made any sale or was even able to keep someone on the phone for more than 5-6 seconds.
    My manager, instead said I think you have what it takes to be a very good sales person. Now do you believe me? My answer was NO.
    He laughed and said ok just believe me for a sec then. He then said I will train you and you will see what I mean.
    He then gave me a script and 3 typical objections reply.
    He asked me to read it every time someone answers the call even if i feel like i am been a robot and stumbling over my feet.
    Within a week I made my first sale. Within 2 weeks I had my 10th sale made.
    Mu manager then asked me to go barnes and noble and buy Tom Hopkins book.
    Holly shit …. I wrote everything Tom said down from what words to use and how to overcome objections.
    Within a month I was selling as much as top 5 sales people in my team.
    Besides Dan Thomander, my manager, Tom Hopkins changed my life. I kept that jon for 8 months and for 6 months I was a #1 salesman on a team of 47 telemarketers.
    I was only working 20 hours a week and putting up $1,000,000 in bal transfer every month (in 98 million dollar was something)
    Thank you Dan, Tom Hopkins, and Zig Ziglar for changing my life.

    38 years ago I drove from Vancouver British Columbia to Arizona to invest in Tom Hopkins "how to sell" cassette tape course. I quickly doubled the amount of roofing contracts I would close. Tom Hopkins is a phenomena. I never met him that trip Ozzy had to leave town. I would still like to meet him one day for changing my life with his sales training.

    Tom Hopkins was my instructor for my real estate license in 1972 in Phoenix, AZ he had just moved from CA and was b=eginning his Profile of a Champion series. I took that immediately after I obtained my real esate lacense. J. Doulas Edwards was also part of my early training career. He was the best thing that happened to sales training in that era. I spent 47 years in the business still dabbling as a Mortgage Broker.

    My first sales training 25 years ago was from Top Hopkins and his strategies are still as impactful today at they were then!!! I love how humbly confident and approchable he is after all of these years.
    Great interview, but it was odd seeing the interviewer with no shoes on?!? I understand it was a casual setting but as was said in the interview, "know your audience".

    Saw this interview in my feed and was glad I did as introduced me to you and your channel. Coincidentally, I attended the seminar you refer to Tom did in Brisbane in ‘99. I also attended another also including Tom a year or two later and shook hands with the great Zig Ziglar, extraordinary.

    Question for you guys....I want to start in real estate sales and I'm almost 40....is it too late?

    • @johnpeter1999
      @johnpeter1999 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's never too late. Often we have to pick up our health and energy. That is totally doable with a functional medicine doctor or a holistic nutritionist. Or maybe you're blessed with phenomenal health. Good luck

    I went to one of his seminars 35 yrs ago bought all of his stuff worked my ass off. I called on the phone 5 hrs every day, went door to door farming Hit fsbos ect. I stayed after the seminar and heard him cussing his staff and he wanted to sell me more stuff lol. I was broke from buying all the other stuff. He lost my respect. But I tried in a 19 percent market. I learned his closes word for word and marketed harder than any body. I did better then most but never made it big

    Seriously man ? No socks, no shoes, no long pants , while interviewing Tom Hopkins? Very disappointing, disrespectful, distasteful.

    • @johnpeter1999
      @johnpeter1999 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have to agree with this point. However Tom dressed very casual also. The content was great however and that's what counts.

    • @bybyana26
      @bybyana26 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I was looking for this comment, like the way he is dressed is beyond casual is utterly disrespectful and disgusting. You are in your briefs 🤮. People nowadays think dressing that way makes them look humble or something but end up looking ridiculous. I am truly appalled 🤯 because it’s actually a good interview the shorts/boxers is truly a disgusting look.

    So we aren’t going to talk how about how disrespectful this man interviewing john Hopkins is? Unbelievable….please wear some pants at least.
