Washer agitated but did not spin. Could tell the switch was broken but it was at night and I needed to drain the washer and didn't really want to have it sit with water nor wanted to drag out the ship vac and drain it. Saved me time of having to find a local supply for the part and this video easily got me a working machine in less than 15 minutes of work. 👍👍👍

I’m planning on stripping the wires on the pigtail of the switch end and using wire nuts. Same difference in a nutshell correct? Whether I hear back or not I’m doing this and only I am responsible for my diy shenanigans. Either way thanks for not making that a 35 min video. You the man brother!

I got the same machine. Did this method and it still doesn't drain or spin after it fill up with water. The pump and couplers are good. I do hear a buzzing sound at the timer knob after the water is filled.

Yes, if the lid switch is broken, it will fill with water and agitate properly, but will not spin or do anything after that. You're correct and that you would need to replace your lid switch, which is pretty cheap and easy
I would think so. Some models will vary if it's lid switch wiring, and it may be worth doing a quick Google on your exact model, so nothing gets fried if it's a fancy model.

I tried pressing a chopstick on it so it spins and drain while open door, now it wont work even tho i hold the latch with my finger and press it down with chopstick .. the click isnt there anymore.. Reach you're hand under and you can use a small screwdriver and hold the switch body up and push down on the switch arm through the whole and it will spin & rinse out .

@@HandymanHertz Never get a Samsung it sucks, the internal AI regulates your water, they hid the screw water regulator under a plastic cap that you have to either remove or drill hole to get to it. Its in the top back cover once you pry it off. I drilled latch so that I could easily remove it without it catching on the bar that pushes out during the cycle but these b*stards put another secret sensor so that even though my lid doesn't lock as soon as I open it the washing machine shuts off and starts draining water.
Isn't that crazy you have 700 to 800 dollar washing machines and a 7 cent piece of plastic brakes and it completely incapacitates the washing machine it is more proof that the world has gone to shh!!++ Anyways can I tape off the plug with electrical tape instead of putting a spare wire in it then taping it off?
Yeah, it's sad things have gotten cheaper but that's because that's what people want now days. If we demanded better stuff and paid for it when we have the option, they would make it. But we want cheap and quality, there's just no such thing. I'm guilty of that myself. Not sure what you mean by taping?

Not helpful. Why? There are different types of these door switches. My Whirlpool door switch has red, white and blue wires feeding into the door switch. So which of these two wires should I connect? I don't know. None of these wires are green. I could experiment, but I am reluctant to do so as I don't know what happens if I connect the wrong wires. Perhaps nothing. Perhaps highly unpleasant stuff happens. I simply don't know. My guess it is the two outer wires that need to be connected, but that is just a guess. I need more information to make a solid decision. It is the absence of this information that makes this video not so helpful.

I did this bypass on my whirlpool wtw5100hc2 top load washer and the close lid light went out and it looked like it was going to take off, but it just stays on "sensing" for about 10 minutes and then an error code "F5E3" pops up. What do I do now?

You can take the 2 screws out that hold the switch in and get it past the tub without doing all the rest .🤔

Yes if you leave the lid switch in, it will press it in down but not do nothing. If it's like mine.

Couldn't get what you were saying about the green wire. Couldn't see it and needed more detailed instructions.
