Wow lovely! and great news that you are coming to #Malta for the #ValettaBaroqueFestival 2024 (Jan 11-27) and will be giving a lunchtime concert on 21st of January 2024 | 12:00PM #VerdalaPalace, #Buskett with Erik Bosgraaf, Tom Armitage, Carlo Maria Paulesu & Luc Houtkamp #BachGoldbergVariations: an immovable force in both the #harpsichord and #piano canon. This version pays respect to its Baroque roots while unleashing newfangledness upon it with newly-composed variations by composers, Houtkamp, Armitage, and Bosgraaf.
Just great! Bach is beyond adjectives. And the interpretation is really touching, a delight to listen to. The recorder has something magic in itself. The core of Western Civilisation has a special component in its musical heritage: how sad and dishonest it is to even suggest that the West has failed... and how sad it is not to look back to then look forward.
Fantastic interpretation from a great recorder master. Beautiful transcriptions that sound great on this lovely instrument. As Bach was an outstanding transcriber himself, these are truly in baroque spirit!
Bach didn't write any concerti for recorders. But one thing about Bach, he sounds good no matter what instrument he's played on. I believe there's a decent Goldberg Variations out there on accordion. And of course, remember Bach on synthesizer? All OK.
I thought that: to get this amazing standard of virtuosity, one would need something like a flute or an oboe. I am delighted to be proven wrong by this extraordinary level of innate talent and hard earned mastery of an all too frequently unappreciated instrument.
If my memory is still functional, the transverse flute became better known as professional grade instrument as larger orchestras needed a more powerful sound from their flutes. The modern transverse flute was developed in the mid 1800s, but before that recorders were just a flute held vertically.
Wait a second. Johann Sebastian Bach didn't write any concerto for recorder 🤔 Also, these don't sound like anything I remember having heard by JS Bach (I may be obviously wrong on this though)
Isn’t it true that back then a recorder was a kind of flute? The transverse flute became more prominent with the rise of larger orchestras if memory serves me correctly.

This has made me completely rethink the recorder. What an excellent musical interpretation of the master. I can feel Bach smiling.
"Brilliant Classics" :
is a mere understatement:
when it is used to introduce Johann Sebastian Bach's totally captivating music.

Prachtige muziek formidabel vertolkt.

We all took recorder in the third grade. This is beyond your wildest dreams!
This is so EXCELLENT!!! Thank you!

no cabe a dudas que que j.s bach es el más grande compositor de música clásica de todos los tiempos..
The one who took the flute school lessons seriously !

For a good time, search for "Bach kazoo" on TH-cam.
Bach 8-bit is pure heaven.
wunderschön

Erik Bosgraaf understands
what Bach was talking about.
Maravilha. ShoWoWonderful.
Wonderfull
Niesamowite.
Person who helped bring this here is the Recorder recorder.
lol deceptive title
I think that might be me! The recorder recorder.
Good day. Thanks
A very good day to you too!

🤗👏

4:05 proves it's Bach
In the description of this video you‘ll find informations about the recorder „concertos“. 😊
the title is deceptive and in the spirit of « lets do whatever helps us and fuck the tradition «

@@CantGetEnoughBach Flute sound is more brilliant, while recorder is more paly.
MARAVILLOSO ! aunque hay algunos "sucios" típicos del nerviosismo al grabar y del perfeccionismo
never knew that flute is recorder)
