2019 electra glide standard is my absolute favorite of all the new Harley’s. Price no option I would still choose the Standard. Felt really right. Congrats!
Thank you! I really like that it was sort of a blank canvas and I could put things on to make it mine. I also like the fact that when I walked into the dealership, there was only one on the floor. Dealership said they get one or two a month.
Nice set-up. I put lots of accessories ($3K worth) on mine but I think the single best one was a pair of 13" Russ Wernimont Designs rear shocks. Stunning difference from the 1 1/2" stroke 12" standard shocks!! They fit with no modifications. Standard settings fit my weight (190) and the extra weight of a full TourPak and Hammock seat without having to change anything. Even the standard pre-load for sag setting was correct. You get 3" of travel including 1" of extension and 2" of compression. Absolutely the best addition. The damping and bump absorption on both compression and extension is really amazing. No radio --use Bluetooth speakers and boom mike on helmet for radio , saved music, and telephone. Made a magnetically closing hinged door for the open ex-radio box to keep things from falling/flying out. All lights converted to LED's plus flashing turn-sequencer tail light, etc etc. Love being able to start with the basics and make exactly as I wanted.
Bought mine with Security and ABS about a month ago. I added a hammock seat, rider backrest, taller windshield, front fork air deflectors which helped a lot with turbulence and chopped tour pack. I agree don't need a radio or nav. These are sweet rides. thanks. Have a video on my channel if interested. thanks
I bought the same bike and added the exact same items. Put a stage one on it also. 90% if what I added I would have had to do a street glide anyway.... Just did a 1700 mile trip to Smokey’s and loved it.
Like what you have done to yours, and hopefully in a few days I will have a walk around mine. Just wanted to let you know that one of the old 6 button 4.3 boom box radios will work also. Bought a new one for only 150 and some kickers from Best Buy and it Connects via Bluetooth to my phone for google maps and pandora music. Did spend the money on a set of lighted hand controls and flashing the stereo, but all of it was plug and play on the standard. I think all the wires are there to get it to a CVO model if you wanted to. I did the same seat backrest and floorboards for my wife at the dealership. The only thing I would do different would be to not get the extended warranty. Can’t do anything with the motor without voiding it now.
They actually do make a glove box door. Eglidegoodies sells them, not sure if they make them too. They posted a comment a few months ago with a link. I have to admit, after a couple of months, I liked the space for my glasses, gloves, gas cap..
I see you're from AZ. I live in the Far East valley. How was HD of Scottdsale to deal with? Seems like the valley has a lot of HD dealers and opinions vary wildly. I am thinking of this bike or a RK. A FLHTP would be perfect, but there aren't many new ones around.
H-D of Scottsdale was great! I bought 4 of my last 5 Harleys from them. I’ve found that if your buying with no trade in, Scottsdale is hard to beat. If you have a trade in, you get better deals elsewhere most of the time. Scottsdale has FLHTPs in stock (as of about 5 days ago).
@@BaggerBull Was there dealer markup/ADP? I've heard some dealers pad in ridiculous fees that can add 5k before tax. Just wondering. I don't have much experience with dealers out in AZ as I moved here 8 years ago and haven't bought a bike here. Thing is, when a dealer doesn't list a price on a new bike, I get suspicious, but most HD dealers are like that. I've only found two that don't: Laidlaws and Bert's in FL.
James L most dealerships in Arizona don’t post prices online on new bikes. Most have the prices on the bikes in store. Desert Wind in Mesa doesn’t have prices on their bikes in store either. Scottsdale doesn’t mark up their bikes and are usually at msrp. Other dealerships mark them up and then take a little bit off to seem like they are giving you a deal. If you’re buying with no trade in, I feel Scottsdale is the best place to buy from.
Nice bike, I would like to replace my 2002 Nomad with one of these one day. It would match my black Suzuki GSX1250FA perfectly. I dig the stripped 2019 Electra glide standard great choice.
Great bike! Nice job on the upgrades! Are you putting a radio in the slot? I want to put the 6.5 GTS on mine. Be interested to see your video if you do. Have fun! New subscriber
I was going to put the Sony bundle from Fathead Cycles in but just before I pulled the trigger on it, I traded in the Electra Glide Standard for a 2020 Street Glide Special. The dealer I went to made me an offer that i absolutely could not refuse. The EGS was a great bike and I had a lot of fun on it.
@@BaggerBull Think that's a great way to go. I hope to make a similar move; heading to bike week, I'll be shopping all the way down and back for a '21 RG limited. Best
Hi thanks for the review. I am thinking of buying one, i have a 2014 switchback . Is the space for the radio useful, i mean do you keep anything in there or do things just fly out when you take off? Thanks
Bill Flixtone the space for the radio is okay. I usually throw my glasses or gloves in it or my gas cap when I’m getting fuel. It’s deep, so you could leave glasses or gloves in it when riding as long as you push them to the back. It’s pre wired for a radio and there is a company that makes a locking door for it. I love mine! So glad I went with this instead of a street glide.
Stuka Dive even with my add ons, I was able to get it for less than a base model Street Glide. I also liked that it was sort of a blank canvas by adding the things that I wanted, I probably wouldn’t see another one just like mine. Thanks for the question.
I traded in my 2017 Road King for this. The biggest thing that I’ve noticed is how much more wind the batwing fairing blocks over the Road King windshield.plus, I really like the batwing fairings looks.
It’s a great bike! I ended up trading it in for a 2020 Street Glide Special. I wish I had not done an impulse buy and bought one with ABS. Using my Sena hooked up to my phone gave me gps and music, so not a big deal for me. I really liked that bike and loved what I got foe the price. Good luck!
I test rode one of these a few days ago, slightly used with only 1200 miles. I loved the bike and was ready to make the deal and pay cash. Wanted to trade in my extremely clean 2007 Heritage Softail, paid for with no issues. The Harley dealer refused to take my bike on trade, because the title states, "not actual mileage." As I said, the bike is extremely clean, showing 9200 miles on the odometer, maybe the speedo was repaired at some point, I don't know. Seems to me they could have knocked a couple hundred off the trade in value and went ahead and made the deal. Kind of pissed me off.
@@BikerJim74 Maybe you wouldn't, but someone certainly would. I may have to drop the price a little when I sell it, but for someone seriously wanting to buy a clean, great running Heritage with no issues, it would be a good deal. When I bought the bike from a private owner, I didn't really look at the title, (yeah, I know I should have), but honestly, the bike was in such good shape, I would have probably bought it anyway, although I would have tried to negotiate a better price.

When you put the stage 1 on it did it affect the fuel mileage much ?
It did a little but not much

I like the fact that the mirrors are bar mounted and not fairing mounted
2021.flh.electra glide like yours.it would also look nice with chrome saddle bag bumpers .bars that finish around the bags.
They need to come up with a little door or something to cover the glaring hole in the dash.

A great looking bike. And tasteful upgrades. Enjoy man !
Much appreciated! I wanted to add what I needed and still come out less than a Street Glide. It’s perfect for me! Thanks again!
