- Let's sculpt an elf! I will go through the sculpt from start to finish sharing tricks and tips on art. I will use Blender but feel free to use any other program like Zbrush or even a different art medium such as drawing to create your own elf!

Lovely! Im learning sculpting right now. I have no problem with sculpting everything except the damn hair REALLY drives me crazy no matter how many tutorials I watched. I'll give this one a shot tho :)

What a coincidence! I just happen to be working on an Elf sculpt/model myself based on a concept by the fantastic Miranda Yeo. I will have to post a link when I am finished with it.
P.S. I swear sometimes I think you and Marc Brunet are the same guy. Besides sounding remarkably similar, you guys both do character building commentary very similarly.

Such a wonderful video. I would love to see you take on some heavier characters though. Most of them are skinny and/or athletic, would be amazing to see you take on the challenge of adding fat to characters and give us some pointers on how to approach that. Keep up the good work, I adore these videos! :)

I always start out with confidence and a dash of promise, and I always end with a lumpy mess
I had a hot moment of "Oh hey I recognize that screen tablet..." only to realise it's the exact same one as mine. Except mine doesn't like to work with multiple monitors which is fun 8)

Great sculpt and tutorial as per usual! I personally think the white hair was a good choice to avoid everything looking too monochrome.

@@yansculpts Could you do a quicl (~5 min) update video about your grafic tablet and weather you like it or not. I intend on buying this one as well for 3d sculpting but also for normal drawing. And because im a student I can not afford to buy one just to see that it does not work like I wished it would. So if there are any pros or cons about it I would like to her them weather in a video or as an answer.

That Hair! Woah! I see that the hair starts as a mesh sphere(s) but then it looks like your able to control it with a few points when tweaking position, how?

I'm starting with Blender and I have a question ... What is the difference between:
1- Creating a cube and adding another cube in the same "layer" / mesh...
And
2- Creating a cube and creating another cube in another "layer" / mesh??
What would be the applications for each way to do this??

I wish I could follow along, the moment you get to the eyes none of it makes sense and blink and your already done, I just wanna make my characters but it’s always the wrong blender version or it’s a time lapse even though it says tutorial, and I just can’t do absolutely anything
I just saw your video . It was very helpfull. I saw that you are using huion kamvas pro 22 i guess . I have the same tablet . I just buy it 3 weeks ago but yesterday a problem occured in pen . I dont know what to do

That looks alot like my OC but her hair and eyes are green and yours is pink. I wish I could show you but besides TH-cam im not allowed to have any type of social media :(
At 1:52, you join the neck and the head but its too quick for me to tell how. Did you use Boolean or something else? It looks like you're clicking on something in the tool menu but it's too blurry for me to see what.

Okay so I hope someone could give me a hand here. Idk what button I pressed, but it has to be near one of the square bracket keys '[ ]' (I'm left handed so I use those to change the size instead of the 'F' hotkeys.) Now all my brushes are subtractive rather than additive.

Fr though, humanoids are the hardest thing to do because you see them all the time so if you have something wrong you might not know what is wrong, but you know something is wrong
How to make an Elf? Give them pointy ears and make them look like Scandinavian supermodels.
Honestly, that's why I like Elder Scrolls and Dragon Age 2 elves. They looked alien and definitely as belonging to a separate race from humans, but not alien enough that you could still buy that someone would want to bone them (or read a doujin about them :P )
What tablet do you use? Or have you got any recommendations?
