Corgi 244 Land Rover Heavily Play Worn Die Cast Restoration

The restoration of a heavily play worn Corgi Land Rover 109 WB.
Brought back from the dead really this one. The wheels and axles had to be replaced in the end.
I did checker plate decals but the scale is just a little too small for them to be really effective.

That was a complete basket case! I had a similar one - it had been chromed, so I left the pitting and used it as 'distress' in the final result - it is the matt beige one I have submitted, with the sheep and the shepherd! Might have been tempted to get rid of the while front bumper, and fashion a new on to fit: the solid bumper is wrong anyway as there should be a space behind it where it attaches to the main chassis legs. If you drill too deep at the front post, the top of a cut-down, plastic push-pin makes an excellent substitute for a Capstan Winch, if you wrap a bit of stout thread round it...
Brilliant save though, Andy, and looks the part with really shiny paint setting off the black details. Noice custom..

Before resorting to the caustic. A soak in boiling water with some limescale remover will work wonders.
