Restoration Abandoned Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa 1957
#restoration - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
As always, a masterpiece of restoration 👍👍
At 2:6 you can clearly see the brand (Bburago) on the underside of the interior. Car is still available new, and not worth more than $20-$30.
My thoughts exactly ! I have a collection of these Burago toys in their original boxes I have no use for. Anybody willing to pay 2000 can have them all !!!! (about 20 cars).
But they are Burago and cheap .....
Try Schuco cars from the early 50's 60's - masterpieces all in metral and with German precision. Expensive when new even back then.
Beautiful replicas of 60's F1 cars with suspension steering detailed engines etc. Great for a lucky young kid.
How long does it take you to make this look this bad?
so much trouble for a model you can buy new at the toy store for 18€
Personally, I wish you would make a video showing us just how you "aged" your models before miraculously "restoring" them. Now that, would be more interesting
Just throw it in oven cleaner or fairy power spray, also bleach + water mix will mess up the acrylic / chrome paint
Exactly what I was thinking
Oh, just run vid backward?
@@jpkatz1435
True but also $900 my ass.
So exactly how does plastic and zinc become rusty? I forget.
The plastic atoms mix with the zinc at...no ...wait..that's how they reproduce...ummmm that's a toughie lol
They sit in a bucket of rusted nails.😂
@@Dan-hk3ge knew it was some type of process lmao 😂
Amazing how they keep finding things with rusted plastic and alloy🙄
Bit of advice for the future, plastic and white diecast alloy (the alloy that most of these toy cars are made of, which is aluminium and zinc), does not rust.
Cool idea
My Lledo collection oxidised under the paint.
Nice job on replacing the missing door 👍
A great restoration and the door fix was superb. Enjoyable to watch, Thankyou
Truely a very fascinating and a very informative video production. I watched from beginning to end and your video production of this model car restoration was enthralling, interesting and original. Thank you for this presentation, (I shall look for more on this TH-cam channel)..!! Mahalo and Aloha from Honolulu , Hawaii
THANK YOU
IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE TWO THOUSANDS DOLLARS FOR A BURAGO'S TESTAROSSA 🤔
I own exact this model in a good orginal condition. anyone here wants to buy it for, lets say 1200€ ? I really doubt.
@@LeChuck652 I'M TOTALLY AGREE
If it´s a rare limited CMC Modell, ok. But Burago, no. CMC are all handcrafted and a masterpiece.
@@townstar1 It isn't a CMC - note the bonnet hinges.
@@-triumphgt667 I said "If", I know that´s a Burago.
Clearly the 'finished' car is a different model - the inside of the right hand door is obviously original and not the replacement made in the video! Nice try but ultimately disappointing
I'm afraid you are wrong about the inside of the right hand door. I could agree other arguments, but the inside of the right hand door is exactly as it was reconstructed
So where did the new grille, the headlights and taillights come from? 😚
That is what I really wanted to see! Still interesting work and great camera work.
Your braise turned into JB Weld! Magic!
It is a bit amusing how every single video you have ever done is sprayed with the exact same mud spray.
@@jimmccormick6091I apologize in advanced, for this lengthy post but I think it’s important to know.
first off, the only things that should show rust is the screws keeping this thing together, but even that is doubtful, because the area the screws were found was still an untouched pretty red paint. Is it any wonder he didn’t display the screws in the disassembly assortment?
The material the actual body of the car wouldn’t and couldn’t rust because it’s made of a pot metal called zamac which an alloy of soft metals mixed with zinc and magnesium, etc. Soft metals don’t rust they patina, and this zamac, although will show signs of pitting, again, will not rust. It oxidizes. Showing stubborn hard powdering that’s virtually hard to get rid of without sanding, scouring and plating, even then pitting is still obvious before body filler and paint. But a restore such as this alleged one, need to be plated with zinc, copper, or chrome to help stop further oxidation and cover any further pits.
Also, this isn’t an old car nor is it a collectible, per se. This is what’s called a “manufactured collectible”. Where the only thing making this a collectible is the words on the package, though no where near worth more than what it originally paid for. No matter the age. For example: if you bought this particular collectible for $20 its price, at best, will either stay the same or go up between $1 to $5, depending on how old it’d be. That’s a big “IF”, too. Because this car would have to be 100 years old to get any where near the $1 to $5 profit range.
Because items that say “Collectible” on them aren’t rare. Hence the name, “Manufactured collectible”. That’s why you’d see such a low profit increase in them after a century because they may not be as common, but they wouldn’t be rare. Real collectibles never have this word on them or their packaging.
@@jimmccormick6091 Correction... at 10 dollars each,
Wundervolle Arbeit ,Burago Modell 1/ 18 34,90€😊
Wow !!! This is a spectacular restauration !! Thanks very much!!!
PARABÉNS!!! Vc é um artista.
A beautiful work! The precision he had with each piece is impressive. Congratulations. And a "hello" straight from Minas Gerais - Brazil
Formidable travail 20/20 Bravo
I'll run you through the process...
1. Buy a mint diecast scale model
2. Use model paints to artificially age the model
3. Film your self cleaning all the crap you just put on the model
4. Publish vid on TH-cam and pretend your really good at mending things
Fr, it isn't so hard to find play worn diecasts.
The inside the can shot was awesome! Good job!
You are a true craftsman and fantastic.
This is a timeless model car, it's a historic, so great work.
Wirklich TOLL 🎉❤👍👋
Those are some serious tires to be still inflated and not cracking ^^
Excellent Work ! Bravo !
Excellent amazing restoration. Well done.
I have the same model , and now i need to find a rich buyer.
You are pioneer in restoration,Hats off.
What a proud looking display Maranello's best! 🥰🇬🇳
The actual rust on these diecast models has to play into question. I have seen damage to a lot of them, but rust? Secondly the title is a bit of a falsehood. $1 is a possible price for an intact but damaged die cast car ... turning it into a pristine die cast car worth $2000 would take gold plating ... not cleaning and paint.
Fantastic work congratulations 😊
Maravilhosa ❤️❤️😍
Well, I don't know how I got here, but this was absolutely astounding work!!.
Jesus, the box in my loft is worth more than the house it's sitting over. $2000? bollocks it is.
The journey of regeneration is so good
Excellent workmanship, and nice job with the detail work.
Amazingly beautiful
❤gran trabajo!!!!espectacular.
MI prgunta es, se compran autos para romperlos dejarlos olvidados para de mostrar que?
Brilliantly done👍👍👍
Great job!
I have the same like new in my showcase in France since the 70' ... But 900 dollars you are kidding or y sell it now !!! ...🙂
First TestaRossa was 1957 which is wht this one looks like. Great Job1
ferrari 250 testarossa burago 1/18 old school the best of made of Italy
and for sale at 59.90 USD ...
Incredible! 🤩
The door job is absokutly fantastic!
Belíssimo trabalho.
Fantastic revival job!
The grille looked very poorly when you removed it, how did you get a replacement or make one, it was perfect!
Well done.
Impeccable bravo encore une de ressuscité
OK, let me see if I have this right, for relaxation you do neurosurgery? Yes? Brilliant restoration.
Simply amazing!
No Burago model is worth 2 grand. They're more like toys for kiddies
Some old models, box in mint conditions and never used nor opened, actually may be worth 250-400€ (300-470$). SURELY no-one will worth more than that unless it's signed by Senna, Schumacher, Ferrari himself, or other big champions, preferably dead.
Большое спасибо, класс супер.
BRAVISSIMO MAESTRO !
very hard to believe someone sold it for 1 dollar, people may not know what something is worth, but if they don't they never sell it cheap.
Great work amazing😉👍
That's pretty darned slick.
THATS AN AWESOME CAR
Fantastic restoration well done👏
Chapeau bas ! Beau travail
Muy buena restauración, quizás la palanca de cambios está un poco fuera de escala se ve grande ,por lo demás un muy buen trabajo.
Door turned out so well you should make the drivers side to match!!
No.
Amazing job man!!
Nice job and good luck
Thanks! You too!
Sensacional!
Creo que es un Ferrari 275 GTB, no es un Testarossa, pero aún así el trabajo es impresionante.
Не каждый свою машину подвергает хотя бы маломальскому ремонту. А тут игрушку в конфетку превратил 👍👍👍
RESPECT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why is there green color onthe body?
You should make a video of making a new model car look old
Joli boulot. Félicitations
Amazing
I just subscribed to your Channel now.
Thank you so very much for an excellent restoration.
❤
Thanks and welcome
how did you come up with $2000? No chance of that, maybe $20 tops
bel lavoro!
Reminds me of the videos showing ‘barnacles’ on baby turtles being scraped off. However, I must admit the video is well made!
Good God do I have to see slow mo putting your visor on?
Such tiny lemons 😄🍋🍋🍋
08:32 You are an artist. 👍
Hes an artist alright😂😂😂😂 A CON ARTIST
bravo
Genius
Me encanta ver como lo has vuelto a la vida, un trabajo precioso, enhorabuena
I don't think a Ferrari would have orange peel paint
Why do you scrub with the smallest and softest brush available? Wouldn’t it be better to use a toothbrush?
Very nice!
Thanks!
Bravo
خسته نباشی داداش ❤
Historical context: This is not a 1984 Testa Rossa. Watch an episode of ‘Miami Vice’ and you’ll see the huge difference. This model is patterned after the original, legendary Testa Rossa from the 1950s that helped create the Ferrari mystique!
900 bucks for a 1:72 model?! You serious?!?!
Anybody who has or collects diecast does not treat them like this! That’s a lot of work just for content…
Its amazing how you keep finding all these destroyed things.
Have you not thought about using heat fusion on the small parts i.E using a battery the same principle as they use on vehicles panels spot welding
Excellent job! One thing drew my attention was that, I would have thought it would be a right hand steering vs the left being of European design.
why would an italian car be right hand steering? makes no sense
In Europe it's only in the UK that cars have right hand drive and drive on the left. Italians drive on the right and therefore have left hand drive.
Can someone please tell me who composed the music heard at the end?
Karrosse restauriert..... Rest zum überwiegenden Teil Neuteile 😉
I like the poor man's lathe.
Needed longer video.
I modeling missing or damaged parts in 3D max using the reference so that all contours are visible, and cut them out of PVC. Watch out my Escalade restoration - you'll like it!
