camping trip to Pacific Rim National Park, meet up with a black bear while cycling and a first try to light my twig stove #pacificcoast #blackbears #twigstove #sololite
Thank you, Wendy, for a great video! That bike trail looked really nice, and that little black bear was a cutie. Loved seeing the beach again, it’s so pretty 🩷
What a gorgeous place! It was nice to meet Bob, too. Enjoyed your Solo stove demonstration, quite nifty. And may I add how impressed I am that you can bend your knees and stay in that position for so long. Good for you! I loved bear sighting along your great bike ride. Many thanks for another wonderful video. Peace~
Instead of investing in buying a wind shield for your stove, take a tip from me, thiscis what i do. I use a strip of heavy duty tin foil and three or more sticks. Arc it around the fire and itll work in any weather.
You do a lot of things i🎉n a short time. And you do look like you are enjoying yourself each time. Your bike is so nice and looks comfy. I would boil my water to have tea or hot chocolate and Ramen noodles with a splash of pepper. Thanks Wendy.
You are always so gracious with your learning experiences, and I find that refreshing Your bike is a great idea since you peddle with a faster paced guy 😊Thank you❤
I am really enjoying your videos. We used to live in the Monterey Bay area in CA. Now we live on the Big Island of Hawaii. I miss the mts. and just being able to jump in the Truck and go for a long drive to anywhere in California to camp or in my later years, staying in a cabin or lodge. Thank you so much for sharing, it helps with my home sickness. Warm Alohas, Marsha and Jim
Hi Marsha and Jim- funny how we miss certain things. Many of us would think Hawaii is the ultimate. Guess we should be thankful for what we have. I have been to the Big Island a few times and would like to go back- Travel and accommodation these days is $$$ so we will see. I loved the beaches the snorkelling and seeing the dolphins. Plus being warn in winter was ok too!!
Love that area. We were out there back in the 70's and you could just drive out on the beach and camp. It has changed quite a bit since then. Glad you got the sun as there is no place like it when the sun shines. We hope to go in Nov. and bike that trail.
I am out there as I write this. doing a video about this latest trip. The trail is complete now right from Tofino to Ucluelet. Wonderful. We have sun at this very moment!!!
Nice video. I have a little solo stove and usually just pick up the dead branches off the forest floor, but it might be a bit drier here. Driftwood looks like a pain.
The temperate rain forest weather keeps things fairly damp most of the year although that is changing with the changing weather patterns. Sometimes I dig around under the big logs for tiny bit that are drier. I find I do better using fire starter too.
What a beautiful beach. I love the tree shelter you used. Nice to meet Bob! What is the warmest that water gets? Have you ever checked out firebox stove on youtube? The guy markets his own design and makes videos about the multitude of cooking methods he uses. It's also fun to see him take his goats and dogs to some of the most gorgeous hidden gems in Utah.

It is a beautiful area. we go up there about 2x times a year if we can. I never tire of it.
Beautiful!
Thank you!

thank you. Bear sightings are always exciting for sure.
Thanks again for these videos. I really enjoy your videos. I just got my own pedal assist bike. So much fun.
thanks for watching. I enjoy my bike but don't really use it enough as I prefer hiking. Great to have though for those longer distances for sure.
Lovely peaceful video… love the mention of books, books books…. I love the beach….ocean ..
Me too!

thanks Dennis- in the end that is just what I ended up doing. Didnt want any more weight and I found it worked quite well. Great Minds!!!

Interesting idea- thanks
Thanks for the bike ride - I wonder if I can still ride a bike.- hmmm! You are my inspiration for getting out there and continue to enjoy life!
You can do it! You dont have to go FAST. Just go as you can! As they say- just stop to smell the roses!
Another fantastic vid. Thanks Wendy!
thank you very much.

I love the ocean. I grew up in Monterey Bay area in Calif. Gramma Candy
there is nothing like it for me. Love hearing the pounding surf.
Was that a black bear or grizzly?
a young black bear-
Awesome video thanks for sharing.
Beautiful ❤️
This looks like a beautiful place to visit. Definitely going to look it up, last October I stayed at Porteau Cove and that was beautiful.
It really is! However the whole area is very busy and reservations are needed these days.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will check out that stove. The water is not warm. Surfers all wear wet suits . Not sure of the temp🥶
@@wendyoutdoors2230 Yes Firebox stove channel is awesome when he goes camping with his goats.
A bear!! Did you pay him for the cameo :)
Hey, you are talking and taping. Of course Bob would be in front of you.
thanks! I can only race him on the hills regardless...my pedal assist wins.... A tiny victory. haha
