That turned out awesome! You are making me hungry. It really looked delicious! I bet the reason for the gap in the top was to allow steam to escape as all the vegetables are high in water content. Otherwise the water would saturate and make your dough soggy. Thanks for sharing. Gonna have to give that a try. You have such a pleasant and upbeat attitude and personality. That’s the only way to be.
Hi Mark- you are likely correct there about the steam. Thankfully it turned out great. I love the wonder of the whole mysterious dutch oven bake on the fire experience. It is always a surprise! thanks for your compliment- much appreciated
Wendy, this video was awesome. What a beautiful day where you were. That pizza looked perfect. I’ll have to try that in my Dutch oven. I did make a really good stew in mine camping this fall. Your such an inspiration! Thank you for your videos!
hell Heidi- thanks again for watching Yes, the pizza was great- surprise! Glad you had good success with the stew. dutch oven cooking is definitely fun.
Been curious about Dutch oven pizza for a while. Loved the demo! And thanks for sharing the true amount of time involved. Very helpful to know it’s 3.5 hours!
Hello Marilyn, Good luck with your bake when you decide to give it a try. Of course doing it in the regular oven would not be as risky but nearly as much fun!!
Oh yeah😊looks yummy!! Way to monitor to get it cooked! Try 2c self rising flour and 1 cup Greek Yogurt for your dough (makes 2 10” pizza’s) use corn meal on bottom like you did. Amazing taste on the crust. It’s like sour dough!! :) 👍🤌🏻
Beautiful area your cabin's in and what a lovley sunny day Wow that pizza 😍, looked so deliciouse ive heard one can do this in a dutch oven but alway's curiouse how it would turn out. Thank's for showing us .
Hello Sue, I find baking in the dutch oven is always full of surprises. This was a good one. I think luck has a lot to do with it and not rushing. Fortunately I had all day!
@wendyoutdoors2230 thank you for your response. I will have to try it on my next adventure coming up . Still to cold for tent camping here, I'm close to the Canadian border. New truck and new canopy camping. Enjoy early spring 🙂
I believe so. I have done other things with that substitution but I think the die hard bread makers insist on the bread flour for the best result- sadly I can't say what the difference is as an amateur. Maybe a viewer can enlighten us!
It’s just crazy how much pleasure I get out of watching these videos! I cooked so many years over a campfire when our family was growing that I swore I would never do it again … but I think I will after watching your videos!
sometimes, Depends where I am going. We can't cut wood in parks so I bring my own or purchase from the park. Where I made the pizza the family has a supply.
lol- that plus a wobbly table did make cutting smoothly a bit of a challenge. Guessing I can't claim to be much of a chef--- Oh well- It tasted great. thanks-

I think the spacers probably cut into the time frame of cooking. Looks amazing.
Perhaps . All a big learning experience 🤞

I really am glad that I found your channel. It's my goal to do similar content.😊
by all means give it a go! It is actually lots of fun learning.Good luck to you!
I love it❤ going to try it with banok, more like pizza bread. Have you tried making campfire banok?
Yes I have. a bit too cooked on the outside and not so good in the middle!!!
@wendyoutdoors2230 thank you for your response. I will have to try it on my next adventure coming up . Still to cold for tent camping here, I'm close to the Canadian border. New truck and new canopy camping. Enjoy early spring 🙂
🎉❤🎉❤🎉
One other question- can I substitute All Purpose Flour?
Thanks
I believe so. I have done other things with that substitution but I think the die hard bread makers insist on the bread flour for the best result- sadly I can't say what the difference is as an amateur. Maybe a viewer can enlighten us!

Hi Wendy, can I place my order 😊 and where was the wine 🍷 cheers❤
Yes of course!
Do you bring your wood with you everywhere you go? Trying to learn
sometimes, Depends where I am going. We can't cut wood in parks so I bring my own or purchase from the park. Where I made the pizza the family has a supply.
I bought a Dutch Oven but it doesn't have much of an indent for coals on top.
the one I bought is made for the camp fire. The one I use at home has a dome lid and not so good for that. Maybe similar to yours.
Wendy... Where's the knife sharpener? 😅
lol- that plus a wobbly table did make cutting smoothly a bit of a challenge. Guessing I can't claim to be much of a chef--- Oh well- It tasted great. thanks-
Time well wasted, Wendy!
and delicious too!
