I was made aware of Rory in the mid 80’s when I was a drummer in a blues band and I had the huge honour of seeing Rory at the Irish centre in Leeds I believe 1986.The place was absolutely packed and I was left speechless, lost for words.
There are not enough words to describe just how great he was.
Remember hearing about his passing as if it was yesterday which was an incredibly sad day.
If any of you out there don’t know much about Rory and his music your life would be soooooo much better when you do.
Rest In Peace Rory you will never be forgotten 💙🙏

I was a teenager in Belfast when I first saw Rory in the early 70s. I went every year when he returned, usually just before Christmas. We were starved of international acts but Rory, Thin Lizzy and Horslips always stopped off in Belfast. Van Morrison, the only famous Belfast born rock musician at that time, was living the high life in USA. Sadly the fat wee barsteward was actively encouraging international acts to STAY AWAY from Belfast. It was strange when his star started to fade that he himself returned to Belfast to restart his career. It almost broke my heart to hear that he had been given the freedom of the city of Belfast. Totally undeserved for his traitorous treatment of his home city music fans.
Thanks Rory, we loved you then and we love you still.

I used to frequent a great little shop in manchester called vinyl exchange where i’d picked up numerous awesome albums by legendary artist for a couple of quid back in the early 90’s. I used to just pick out records based on the album covers. If it looked cool i’d give it a try & one of those records was live taste. It was one of the best blind buys i ever made. God bless you rory, we thank you for the music. Great video H&HL, thanks.

RG was a terrific guitarist who never sought fame or money, he just carved his own path. It's a shame some people want to taint his legacy by referencing the old lie that Jimi Hendrix named him as the greatest guitarist in the world. It never happened but Rory didn't need that kind of myth to prop up his reputation, his music speaks for itself.

I was lucky to see him in 1979 and the modesty and warmth in his performance gave a feeling of intimacy to the gig - a rare thing for a musician of his fame and popularity
Taken from us far too young

Every time I watch your videos, I’m astonished at what you uncover and what I learn! I loved that he started on the ukulele, I wonder just how many musicians did. It’s a bit of an unsung hero in their tales! I’m not familiar with this man’s music but I’m looking forward to listening. Superb work my friend 🤗

I have been a fan for years. Some of these notes l never heard ,like Donel thinking Rory was autistic. I'm glad that Rory turned down Peter Grant, he was a horrible person. Rory had a great stage presence. Those were the first pictures that l have seen that Rory being with girlfriends. You have done some deeper research than other documentaries that l have viewed on this great musician. 👍

A very very under estimated man multi talented. The number of people who have been influenced by him Jimmy Page for one I believe. Never bought out a single I believe all albums of which I had a few. Real talent o and he played the sax. Thank you for that I really enjoyed that. I'm off to annoy the neighbours with loud music.❤❤❤

Interesting video, thanks. But the title is odd- “Taste’s Rory Gallagher”. That’s a bit like saying “Buffalo Springfield’s Neil Young” or “Destiny’s Child’s Beyoncé “. Of course he was in Taste but but surely he’s much better known for his solo career.

Rory great musician earned his reputation by his live performances but along with other great musicians like steve marriott ,phil lynott, and more drink and drugs took there toll because they where always touring all got ripped off,
