I wouldn`t classify the Mechanicum as having restrictions. 1) Blaming millions of mutants to be unpure because you poisoned the environment and were not lucky enough. 2) Putting millions of humans into servitors 3) The biggest eco criminal in the known universe 4) As long as old golden age tech goes, no matter how destructive, its good. Only when its new they get a little shady and call it heresy. TLDR; You have to be very picky to see one side actually be "good" or not "Dark". But yes, the mechanicum probably does not allow demons in their machines, as long as nobody is watching ;).

According to the new CSM code the IW are going out of the way to conquer Forge Worlds in the Imperium Nihilus. Imagine Perty and the Dark Mech teaming up to run a train on the imperium by using all kind of demon enines, dark age and xeno tech.
I mean, technically the Emperor didn't lie. He's the reason for the source of the entire Martian civilization. There would be no Mechanicum without the void dragon and the Emperor is the reason it was even there in the first place so technically he is their daddy.
If we go with technicalities than yeah, the Emperor is the Omnissiah. But we've got the Man of Iron UR-025 who said that he met the Omnissiah itself, and the Emperor was definitely not it. That means the only likely candidate is the Void Dragon.

Well not necessarily. They have daemon engines. They have archeotech. They have xenotech. They have even less care for human life than the admech. Imo they should have much stronger gear with a much higher focus on risk (like plasma pistols being capable of overheating but on steroids) and maybe some psychic phase stuff that admech lacks at the expense of survivability.

You can play them just fine on the tabletop. You'd just use the models for the admech and custom rules for a mechanicus cult to run them. Probably attack chaos iconography or bits to them.
It kinda makes sense that there are not many Dark Mecanicum left. The Cyborg boys are highly logical and view the human mind and body as weakness to overcome with machines. Chaos thrives on emotion and physical experiences. Most Mecanicus now would simply not find that tempting.
You can play them. You just use the rules for admech, maybe a custom cult, then kitbash them with chaos bits or chaos iconography and your paint style.
I made a dark mechanicum reductor army. Plenty of modding and plenty of kitbash. You do not have tomfollow the rules, the rules are for pussies. A lot of my miniatures dont even carry weapons, just books and manuals for how to operate the weapons of mass destruction they worship. In particular, my reductor magos love radiological warfare, and nukes, and orbital bombardment. Omnissiah as the Unmaker God.

Sadly, that would fail. Because Krorks can't really function without the Brainboyz, and the Nightbringer's little 'gift' is still flowing through all of orkykind. So if they believed they were mighty Krorks, most of them would start getting buff, the Madboyz, Painboyz, Wierdboyz, and Mekboyz would start getting supersmart and supersane...and then die horribly. And the whole mess would revert back to the Orks.
The ''Beast'', who let the Orks during the ''War of the Beast'', was supposedly a demi-Krork. Look how much damage that git did.... So, they don't even need to become full-blown Krorks, just evolve a little to the point where they can use their latent psyker powers properly and the Galaxy would be screwed.

In order to prevent the total annihilation of the species, the Brainboyz transferred their knowledge into the 'Ork' section of the species (the warrior caste), who were resilient enough to not just die from all that extra genetic memory, but not smart enough to use it. Tiny fragments surface, and that's what makes a Mekboy, or a Painboy, or a Wierdboy. Unfortunately, sometimes LARGE amounts surface, like...enough to qualify as a Brainboy. It completely shatters the Ork's psyche to have that much information, and leaves them largely a drooling idiot known as a Madboy. Though once in a great while a Madboy has a moment of lucidity and does or says exactly the right thing. The rest of the time they murder you for stealing their shoe...while they are wearing it...because they're delusional and hallucinating due to neurological overload.

In the arhiman books they speak of men with heavy cybernetics in orange cloaks and beakt masks maintaining the thousand sons ships and weapons with one spacemarine of arhimans warband, ignis master of ruin, wearing flame orange armour and an automaton in the same pattern, I even believe they said this to be a faction loyal to the great sorcerer. I can't remember the name of the cult but if you have the time; the arhiman series is considered one of the best for chaos.

For example dark mech didn't gave two shits about ryzas production capabilitys but realy wanted to have their plasma tech. A post Heresy Mechanicum with a Horus win would go down in petty civil wars and powerplays between a small Mars Nobility that casualy destroy forge worlds because they produced better screws

No Gene seed is not from the Astartes who "Donates" it The Progenitor gland grows that Legions geneseed.. the geneseed of say, The Ultramarines, in 40k, would be the exact same geneseed initially taken from Guilliman to create his first Astartes. Even in corrupted geneseed, the geneseed does not take on any similarities to the Astartes carrying it, They are just incubating their Primarchs pure geneseed for them

Eldar: Previously their Avatars which since the Fall of the Eldar they have extremely weakened. So the ancient ones should be called Primordial Avatars. Dark Eldar: None that I could find, presumably because of being isolated into a corner of the Webway and fear of attracting Slaanesh. Orks: Attack Moons. Imperium of Man: I wanna say anything that involves Exterminatus such as Cyclonic Torpedoes and Virus Bombs, but there are hordes of lost STCs from the Age of Technology that was lost, so there might have been more. Chaos: Planet Killer, even though they use Blackstone Fortresses, they aren't Chaos in origin. Plus Abaddon's ship is rumored to still be active and it's unknown if there's more. T'au: Hello? Anybody out there? Heeeellllloooooo? Well, I guess they don't have any super weapons. Tyranids: Seriously, at least one Hive Ship can easily overpower an Imperial fleet and suck a planet's resources including atmosphere in under a day. Old Ones: Among their hyper advanced technology and thrall species, I'd definitely say the Krorks and Blackstone Fortresses. Ancient Humanity: Definitely the Men of Iron because they had countless mechanical horrors that would destroy entire planets and systems in under a day.
if gw ever made the dark mechanicum a proper faction they could be an immense threat. if they were to take over some forge worlds caught up in or near the great rift then they could really jump start quest for knowledge again and who knows wohat they could come up with.
There is a good novel called Titanicus if remember correctly it is about a war between dark mech and the mechanicus with big titan fights and such read it along time ago but i enjoyed it might read it again

i like to think that if an admech of khorne were to exist, he(or she) would be concerned with practicality and simplicity the most. cause khorne is a simple guy, he isn't gonna do more than is needed to win, so his techpriest by extension would probably try to simplify technology as much as possible while still trying to make it as effective. plus out of all the chaos gods, he is most likely the machine god.

That was some slander against my boy Deltrion. He was more than your typical tech priest, the Night lords almost considered him an honorary member of the Legion. Not only was his appearance dad a flayed man designed to shock, but the scream weapon he created had an inventive cruelty the night Lords lauded as more like their own than anything born out of the cold logic of the mechanicum.

I'm sure in some ways, it should just make me happy that the Chaos and Astartes lines aren't all the same, except for a color scheme, and maybe some spikes, but this sort of reminds me that I kind of miss Chaos having Techmarines. Since I find it silly that the Iron Warriors would all be typical CSMs, at this point, I almost wish that they were sort of the Dark Mechanicum meets CSM faction.

Even normal Iron Hads were already more crazy than Iron Warriors. THe later only cut off/replced body parts if they had chaos induced mutations, while the former casually started using cybernetics for no reason.
I'd love to see GW expand on lore or stories surrounding the Dark Mechanicum amd Chaos Knights... two really strong assets to chaos that in my humble opinion, accomplish more than Abbadon has in 13 black crusades...

Among the STCs that the dark mechanicum recovered was an artifact from an apocalyptic event that predates the golden age of mankind, a demonic event that would've resulted in the extinction of humanity had it not been for an unknown champion wielding a primitive yet lethal bolter, that cast the demons to the dirt. The STC contains blueprints outlining the mass production of daemons with cybernetic enhancements as well as schematics on how to safely and carefully graft said enhancements onto the bodies of said daemons. The schematics are nothing new to the toaster diddlers, but what puzzles them greatly is the triangular symbol with the letters UAC written at the bottom.

If the Dark Mechanicum ever gets its own codex I'd like to see the weapons being truly random or having the chance to blowup/go berserk. Same idea if Chaos is allied together if some Khorne units don't make the charge they could turn on the nearest friendly unit.

i so which this faction got more attention in the modern lore and on table top, the are defiantly one of my top 3 favourite factions (and just overall concepts) in 40k
You can play them just fine on the tabletop. You'd just use the models for the admech and custom rules for a mechanicus cult to run them. Probably attack chaos iconography or bits to them.
It kinda makes sense that there are not many Dark Mecanicum left. The Cyborg boys are highly logical and view the human mind and body as weakness to overcome with machines. Chaos thrives on emotion and physical experiences. Most Mecanicus now would simply not find that tempting.
A video on the military forces or the Mechanicum/dark mechanicum/ adeptus mechanicus would be pretty cool

You can play them. You just use the rules for admech, maybe a custom cult, then kitbash them with chaos bits or chaos iconography and your paint style.
I made a dark mechanicum reductor army. Plenty of modding and plenty of kitbash. You do not have tomfollow the rules, the rules are for pussies. A lot of my miniatures dont even carry weapons, just books and manuals for how to operate the weapons of mass destruction they worship. In particular, my reductor magos love radiological warfare, and nukes, and orbital bombardment. Omnissiah as the Unmaker God.

Sadly, that would fail. Because Krorks can't really function without the Brainboyz, and the Nightbringer's little 'gift' is still flowing through all of orkykind. So if they believed they were mighty Krorks, most of them would start getting buff, the Madboyz, Painboyz, Wierdboyz, and Mekboyz would start getting supersmart and supersane...and then die horribly. And the whole mess would revert back to the Orks.
The ''Beast'', who let the Orks during the ''War of the Beast'', was supposedly a demi-Krork.
Look how much damage that git did....
So, they don't even need to become full-blown Krorks, just evolve a little to the point where they can use their latent psyker powers properly and the Galaxy would be screwed.

@@adrienwatson2179 Nope, because the Nightbringer (C'Tan of Death) gave the Krork a little 'gift'. Some kind of affliction that killed all the Brainboyz, and could not be removed.
In order to prevent the total annihilation of the species, the Brainboyz transferred their knowledge into the 'Ork' section of the species (the warrior caste), who were resilient enough to not just die from all that extra genetic memory, but not smart enough to use it.
Tiny fragments surface, and that's what makes a Mekboy, or a Painboy, or a Wierdboy. Unfortunately, sometimes LARGE amounts surface, like...enough to qualify as a Brainboy. It completely shatters the Ork's psyche to have that much information, and leaves them largely a drooling idiot known as a Madboy. Though once in a great while a Madboy has a moment of lucidity and does or says exactly the right thing. The rest of the time they murder you for stealing their shoe...while they are wearing it...because they're delusional and hallucinating due to neurological overload.

The retaking of Mars immediately after the Heresy only gets about a sentence in the lore. I wonder if the DM just abandoned Mars, put up a fight or left a shit load of traps and weirdness behind. Would be a great setting for a Mechanicus related IP.

In the arhiman books they speak of men with heavy cybernetics in orange cloaks and beakt masks maintaining the thousand sons ships and weapons with one spacemarine of arhimans warband, ignis master of ruin, wearing flame orange armour and an automaton in the same pattern, I even believe they said this to be a faction loyal to the great sorcerer. I can't remember the name of the cult but if you have the time; the arhiman series is considered one of the best for chaos.

A post Heresy Mechanicum with a Horus win would go down in petty civil wars and powerplays between a small Mars Nobility that casualy destroy forge worlds because they produced better screws

I believe that khorne and tzeencht are the omnissia, representing the different aspects between technology. Both show possibly the best understanding of technology and knowledge, khorne litteraly having a forge in his realm and him making the skull cannon and juggernauts, and tzeentch having litteraly all knowledge at his command
Thd only dark mechanicum forge world with any real fluff is Sarum. They weren't really a part of Kelbor-Hal's little tantrum but owed the World Eaters a debt of loyalty and were like their exclusive supplier

The Progenitor gland grows that Legions geneseed.. the geneseed of say, The Ultramarines, in 40k, would be the exact same geneseed initially taken from Guilliman to create his first Astartes.

Dark Eldar: None that I could find, presumably because of being isolated into a corner of the Webway and fear of attracting Slaanesh.
Orks: Attack Moons.
Imperium of Man: I wanna say anything that involves Exterminatus such as Cyclonic Torpedoes and Virus Bombs, but there are hordes of lost STCs from the Age of Technology that was lost, so there might have been more.
Chaos: Planet Killer, even though they use Blackstone Fortresses, they aren't Chaos in origin. Plus Abaddon's ship is rumored to still be active and it's unknown if there's more.
T'au: Hello? Anybody out there? Heeeellllloooooo? Well, I guess they don't have any super weapons.
Tyranids: Seriously, at least one Hive Ship can easily overpower an Imperial fleet and suck a planet's resources including atmosphere in under a day.
Old Ones: Among their hyper advanced technology and thrall species, I'd definitely say the Krorks and Blackstone Fortresses.
Ancient Humanity: Definitely the Men of Iron because they had countless mechanical horrors that would destroy entire planets and systems in under a day.
if gw ever made the dark mechanicum a proper faction they could be an immense threat. if they were to take over some forge worlds caught up in or near the great rift then they could really jump start quest for knowledge again and who knows wohat they could come up with.
There is a good novel called Titanicus if remember correctly it is about a war between dark mech and the mechanicus with big titan fights and such read it along time ago but i enjoyed it might read it again
Its interesting to me that the dark mechanicum knows the emperor lied, but dont know the truth of the omnisiah. Also the link between the necrons and the mechanicus is just so cool, like in a way, the necron's technology that the admech steal ar in fact gifts from the omnisiah

i like to think that if an admech of khorne were to exist, he(or she) would be concerned with practicality and simplicity the most. cause khorne is a simple guy, he isn't gonna do more than is needed to win, so his techpriest by extension would probably try to simplify technology as much as possible while still trying to make it as effective. plus out of all the chaos gods, he is most likely the machine god.

Mechanicus and Dark Mechanicum are like Cave Johnson and Dark Cave Johnson, they're pretty much the same except one breathes methane and has better Portal guns.
I'm sure in some ways, it should just make me happy that the Chaos and Astartes lines aren't all the same, except for a color scheme, and maybe some spikes, but this sort of reminds me that I kind of miss Chaos having Techmarines. Since I find it silly that the Iron Warriors would all be typical CSMs, at this point, I almost wish that they were sort of the Dark Mechanicum meets CSM faction.

@@redeye3869 The Horus Heresy novel series is one that I plan to start sometime, just not yet. That whole novel series is the One Piece of Warhammer. Extremely long but definitely worth the dive. Or in this case crusade.

Even normal Iron Hads were already more crazy than Iron Warriors. THe later only cut off/replced body parts if they had chaos induced mutations, while the former casually started using cybernetics for no reason.

Among the STCs that the dark mechanicum recovered was an artifact from an apocalyptic event that predates the golden age of mankind, a demonic event that would've resulted in the extinction of humanity had it not been for an unknown champion wielding a primitive yet lethal bolter, that cast the demons to the dirt.
The STC contains blueprints outlining the mass production of daemons with cybernetic enhancements as well as schematics on how to safely and carefully graft said enhancements onto the bodies of said daemons. The schematics are nothing new to the toaster diddlers, but what puzzles them greatly is the triangular symbol with the letters UAC written at the bottom.
Ah, more Warhammer lore i never intended to learn, but will watch intensely due to the use of the phrases "Cum Blasted" and "Random Dude"
