Since you made Seth‘s video about warp entities that aren’t aligned with chaos. I’d like to propose a video idea of my own. About what remains of and references to ‘our’ era and earlier things from earth in the time of 40K. That’s something I’ve been interested in for a long time.

@@williamk033 I hope he does, at least he has to say something. But slowly I get the feeling that he slowly turns to focussing more on money than anything else. The Patreon is not what it used to be, some benefits like the free Hentai calendar cant be redeemed. Also the calendar thing starts to grind my gears. For now what feels like months its always the last chance before its gone forever.
Anyway I respect the work he puts into it, every video is entertaining but he should really reevaluate his financing strategys.
And if he reads this I really hope he can take the criticism and grow from it no hard feelings whatsowever.

In his brief reappearance, Perturabo says that he will now answer The Warmaster's call. And seeing as how he has a full legion, we SHOULD see him at some point too. I feel like it's a massive missed opportunity. Perturabo is not a small character. He was instrumental in accomplishing the Siege of Terra, and he's been sidelined for a really long time.

The Black Legion books are actually pretty awesome, but sadly Abaddon usually gets the opposite of "show, don't tell" treatment by GW. Show us more of Abaddon the proud warrior who respects other strong warriors and shows them respect after he beats them (aka Sigismund and those Blood Angels who's corpses he put on thrones made out of BL skulls that they had claimed).
The black legion books are the epitome of tell instead of showing, if I have to listen to khayon talk about how abaddon the greatest astartes ever again my brain will drip out. Plus khayon himself, the greatest sorcerer ever who has all the connections and tools to form the black legion but is desperately searching for a leader because he's a natural bootlick reeks heavily of abaddon couldn't stand on his own give him a babysitter

I think it would be a great way to see Abaddon ever since the Black crusades is that it was suppose to be a twist all along that he wasnt really the main antagonist in the franchise and would reveal that there are other actual dangerous behind the Black Legion like Mortarion, Angron and that new Daemon thing

It's probably why the dude that made the Dornian Heresy made the switcheroo with Sigismund, with Sigi forming the Black Legion and Abaddon forming the Black Templars.

It makes sense for Abaddon to wield Drach'Nyen as a sword rather than unleashing it upon the Imperium because he is quite the egotist. Chaos is inherently Chaotic (go figure), and it gives Abaddon a leg up in every duel.

Yeah I think "good antagonist, just not a good main antagonist/BBEG" is a perfect way of putting it.
Abaddon is a lancer type character. He should be a Starscream, maybe even a Vegeta on a good day but no way should he have been promoted to BBEG simply by being the biggest knucklehead.
That's kind of how chaos space marine politics work. The physically strongest get to lead. If Huron or Perturabo was warmaster, it would be an easy win for chaos. This is GW's way of balancing the factions. By putting Abaddon in charge of the chaos warbands, they won't be that much of a threat compared to the other factions.

Ik a lot of long time players don’t like this guy because of how much he’s used, but I was introduced to him through the MTG collab and loved his design, and is the main reason I’m going to be making chaos as my first army :)

Abaddon is a secondary antagonist. I say chaos itself is the main antagonist of 40K.

His voice acting and stories are the best I have ever heard and he deserves the recognition and audience.
I think the issue with Abbadon is fully in how they used him: 40K is a massive setting and, naturally, we want several povs to follow, right? It's just boring when there is "one main big evil guy", it just is boring. Abbadon is fine, but because he was the only one, he got all the hate: I hope that now, with more antagonists coming in, Abbadon can get some room to breath and get better writing. Also, if we will start bringing more good guys in, there is potential in this too: Khan or Vulkan vs Abby sounds pretty neat to me.

Especially if they’re books you’d recommend to people who could be new to 40K or need a refresher on what’s been going on during the Horus Heresy or in the current setting of 40K. Let me tell you about the "Crusader" class. The dude with the big sword has an ability where he can spin around and do a whirlwind attack with (Hound from GoT) his big fucking sword
This is the only move you need to use on him, it lasts as long as you're holding the button down, and on top of doing some meaty damage, it also knocks down the enemies (I watched as the whirlwind proceeded to stun lock some warp abomination that was like 3* his height by whirling into it, knocking it down, it getting back up only to be met with another round of CC) You do slow down when using the ability but hey its FUN to watch as the daemons, tyranids, traitor guardsmen, Dark Eldar, and traitor Astartes all get rolled over by a normal human in power armor with a sword.
Also while the psyker is neat and fun, they will start hurting themselves if you use your warp abilities too long / too many times and will start actually summoning warp anomalies, so kindaaaa 5/10 for the psyker inquisitor.
i wish black library would write a book for ra endymion to finish his story, kinda like what they did for ancient rylanor.
Im sure we'll get at least some closure in the 3rd black legion book as thats where Abaddon is going to claim drach'nyen.

You're the entire reason I know so much about Warhammer, from fantasy to 40k. I love your content and I hope you keep growing and pumping out these instant classics.
A lot of people point out how often he failed, but Abaddon is the only one to get the chaos legions to work together. Which makes his Black Crusades the only time the traitor legions were a direct threat to the Imperium as a whole, at least since the Horus Heresy.
Unpopular opinion: I think that Lorgar Aurelian should be New Warmaster of Chaos (after Horus), not Abbadon
Lorgar is smart, but he isn't that strong conpared to other primarchs. I'd say Perturabo should lead because he is both strong and smart.

That's the point of Lorgar : he's a priest, a corruptor, he's the voice of the Gods but he will never be a leader because he doesn't have the skills for it
The Heresy series has done a lot of good for Abaddon and his character development

The problem with Abby is that it seems like GW has forgotten how to make someone seem powerful. Like they don't understand where power comes from in a practical sense.

I played Inquisitor: Martyr when it first came out on PC. It was pretty fun. A bit repetitive, but scratches the 40k itch if you like ARPGs.

To be fair, Abaddon *is* a secondary villain when you think about it. He strikes me as the "Sauron" to Horus being Morgoth in this comparison.
By that I mean he's the replacement. Powerful and even badass in his own right but never measuring up to his master, the true villain (unless you count the chaos gods.... then he's a tertiary villain).
Though, also to be fair, Abby has been around a lot longer than Horus had been... so I may indeed be full of shit ;P
Also, you should totes try to get Baldy and the bois back together for a Darktide stream.... yknow, when the game is stable enough to play for more than 20 minutes lol
The biggest problem with Abaddon is similar to Kharn’s problem. They’re the big bad, and some of the best at what they do, but to make the protagonists seem super powerful, they always have to lose. For example, Kharn, supposedly an amazing fighter, probably the best in the current setting, lost to Siggy and Loken, to show that Siggy and Loken are badass. Abaddon can’t win much because we have to see Cadia stand tall, or Eldrad be awesome, or for some other character to kick ass.
GW needs to let Abaddon win, a lot. The IOM needs to be reeling from blow after blow, and hopefully that happens in Arks of Omen.
