Great outdoor concert. my favorite album is the tour I first saw them on and that was Rocket to Russia!! their Best album!!!

I still haven't got that second album for some reason. Sheena Is A Punk Rocker was played at our PubQuiz on Wednesday, I asked for it tto be turned up to full volume! It's Alive is superb.
Leave Home is the only Ramones I have on vinyl, just never got around to finding more. Remember buying the first four albums on those two-fer CD editions in like the early 90's or something. Always liked their cover of Needles & Pins, that helped me get the band, that underneath all the snotty punk stuff they were just these 60's rock fans. Cheers Rich

I’m sure DeadWax66 has that bootleg. About 6 years ago he showed all his Ramones records. I think he broke down into five 20 minute videos. He has a lot. He doesn’t really make videos any more and he took all the ones he made down.
I haven’t been listening to much music the past few weeks. I may lose my VC membership. The past few years I’ve been purging more records than I have been buying. Mostly classic rock, 80s, and some jazz. Recently I have sold some high dollar punk records.
I saw the Ramones 4 times. Four of the best live shows I’ve seen. My faves are Road to Ruin, Pleasant Dreams, and Subterranean Jungle. All I have on vinyl are my original Rocket to Russia and End of the Century. I did a mail swap of my copy of TMA’s ‘What’s for Dinner’ for a copy of Subterranean Jungle and never received it. 👿
Caught The Ramones here in the U.K. in 1977 with Talking Heads. Also managed to grab one of the (1000 only) limited edition t-shirts you could get, by sending off a punch-out eagle emblem from the "Sheena..." 12" 45 sleeve and £1!!

Hey man. I need more Ramones lps, I think I own only one, but I am holding out for original presses. It's weird, but for some reason it just doesn't feel right to buy reissues or even CDs of The Ramones; I feel the same way about Zappa and The Mothers albums, and, fortunately, I own almost every one of those. The Ramones OGs are crazy expensive, but I'll get my hands on them soon enough. Peace.
I can't imagine how shocking this was when it came out. It shocked me the first time I heard it. Check out Drunk Dial's tribute to the Ramones called "Stay Home" which came out during the Covid days. So good! "Subterranean" and "Brain Drain" are still my favorites. Go Jets!
Great video Rich and you captured the unpredictable spirit of punk with the (almost) fist fight story! I'm pretty cool with the mono version of the first album in that box set. It's like it should have been recorded that way in the first place. I guess the mono mix loses some of the strangely raw character of the original.

There is a lot there you would like. As an Australian I can say with some pride that the punk stuff from here easily equals all those awesome releases from the US and UK!
@@danielbigna5469 I did watch Ben Rankins video. There is such a great music scene currently going on in Australia. The problem is the shipping costs. The last record I ordered from Australia took over a month to arrive and it was in the shape of the letter U. I now only pick up Aussie records that I find at the record store or order online from US distributors.
Great trip down memory lane. When you did that video with Maslov and showed the signed copy of the Ramones debut, you should have seen the look on Mazzy's face, the envy was palpable. Then he tells the story of going a one-stop with the band and doesn't get a copy signed. What a missed opportunity. I saw them a bit earlier than you, first was 6/77 in Ann Arbor with the Sonics Rendezvous Band opening, then 7/78 in East Lansing with Destroy All Monsters opening, and then the last time was 6/79 in Allentown with La Peste opening. The night before was The Damned with La Peste opening for them, as well. Needless to say, that was one great weekend.

Nice stories about signing line and your pal Kenny. There two happenings that started punk here. 1st two Ramones gigs in Helsinki and Tampere. The people started own bands after the gigs or changed style punk. Second big thing was forbidden Sex Pistols to play in Finland. After every youth knew what is punk and why should listen.

I go on a Ramones bender once in a while and watch a bunch of videos of them on you tube, I don't how many times I've watched "Time Has Come Today", but for some reason I have none of their records. I need to fix that.

Joey Ramones’ mom was told that he would never function in society and would need care his entire live. Music saved his life.

@@haroldlumpet That is a very interesting idea. There are levels when I refer to songs as wankers. Some I think are terrible. A song like I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend isn’t really a bad song but it stops the momentum of the record.

@@stevegilmore2093 The Ramones are as poppy as the Beach Boys but I’m not a fan of their wimpy songs either. It is nothing personal but we can’t all like the same songs.

@@haroldlumpet That is a very interesting idea. There are levels when I refer to songs as wankers. Some I think are terrible. A song like I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend isn’t really a bad song but it stops the momentum of the record.
