In india Buddhism is also seen as alternative by
many ambedkarites to uplift Dalits and give them a new identity and a community where they are not considered inferior .
So in India by default Buddhism looks much more progressive socially.

I do that. I just do it more for powerful religions in the Indian context. Just as pakistani atheists do it for Islam and American atheists do it for Christianty.

I think this is a positive strawman. Atheism is lack of belief in God and it's existence. There's nothing more or less to it. May be you're talking about a person who values rationality, which necessarily doesn't need to be atheist.
Because Buddhas philoshophy was greatly scientific, realistic and based on equality and not dividing human from human. buddha is more relevant today will be choise of futurastic scientific community when religion totally fails.

It is true that the buddha walked 7 steps as he was a Bodhisattva who had perfected the 10 perfections. The pot had started to flow against the river because he had tested himself that if he'll attain the enlightenment the pot will flow against the flow of river.
As an indian agnostic I don't remember putting that much thought into Buddhism beyond the situation of the Dalai Lama. We talk more about Hinduism, Islam, Christianity and sometimes Jainism. Buddhism is there in india but it has zero political influence or strength of numbers so it remains out of our cognizance for the most part.
Buddhism is actually an atheistic religion. Buddhists don't believe in any god.

I don't think that Jainism has any political influence on India as they are a minority religion like Zorostherarians. About political influence, Navanaya Buddhism has considerable amount of them since there are some political parties like Bahujan Samajwadi Party etc.

Geographically it makes sense to criticise the majority religion, and from a content creator's point of view it makes sense, but as an atheist, you should remain critical and sceptical of all religions and cults.

As for bhindrawaale the matter is more convoluted, he was a violent and charismatic man thinking he is fighting for the rights of Sikhs.
His rise is contemporarinous with Sikhs being lynched while peacefully protesting ( like Punjabi sooba movement)
His answer to this was keep weapons and defend yourself because "anti-sikh " government this along with the militaristic nature of Sikhism gave him moral justification to weaponise.
Note: he himself did't take any responsibility for assassinations but said that since government isn't doing anything this is how justice will work ( since he had no respect for constitution which he deems anti Sikh and antithetical to sikh concious since it classifies Sikhs as Hindus )

( You can read about military history when civilians take weapons for example 1st crusade they ransacked their own allied kingdom Byzantium )
Now you can criticise the militaristic aspect of Khalsa ( Khalsa is subsect of Sikhi)

But for India, I have surprisingly seen only hindus ( whether they have become athiest from Hindusim or religious)watching both like your channel, Pravanv's Channel & Harris Sultan's channel ( he is amazing too like you). All of your 3 youtube channels and more such an athiest channels from Indian subcontinent, regardless of whether it is exhindu, exmuslim, etc , maximum viewers are hindus or exhindu ( or whatever you would like to call anyone who left Hindusim and become Athiest). I don't see much athiest who left other faiths apart from Hindusim. I was surprised by Harris Sultan's channel, too. There also most people who watch and comment on his videos are people like Exhindus or Hindus , very few other ex. So that's something strange I have found.

The official religion that has the biggest hands in politics is Islam and second place would be Communism/Marxism which is an atheistic religion. (yes, Marxism is a religion as Karl Marx originated drafted his book "the communist confession of faith" which was later renamed "the communist manifesto".)
U can disregard dogma in Buddhism as Buddha himself said use ur mind not just believe even if Buddha himself said so , or tradition said so.

There is more to it though. Many people in US too has this glamorized idea of Buddhism that Buddhism is atheism or humanism.
Zuckerberg used to call himself atheist once ,then said he finds Buddhism interesting and has now turned Buddhist per internet.
Buddhism has many of the same beliefs as Hinduism and needs to be called out.
Fact is Buddhism is an atheistic/humanistic religion. It's not a glamorized version of Buddhism. One can be an atheist and religious at the same time.
Also Hinduism is not a religion on its own. It consists of so many religions and philosophies of which some of the religions and philosophies in it are atheistic in nature.
I am an atheist but and i don't want to ever be a Budhist but i understand why Budhism attract Many atheist because there is a version of Budhism which is Totally Atheist and deprived of any Supernatural beleive. And there are brances of Budhism which is Dogmatic like other religion but that atheist version is popular among some atheist.
Many Americans find Hinduism progressive and many Indians find Christianity progressive. However it doesn't make sense for say an American atheist to criticise Hinduism as much or vice versa. That's because the politics, culture, dogma of these places are shaped by the majority religions. These atheists more often than not come from these majority religions, so they also have more understanding of it. A Sri Lankan or a Burmese Buddhist will have a better understanding of both the religion and it's impact on their country's society and politics. So they will be in a better position to criticise Buddhism compared to Vimoh.

Atheism and Buddhism are not necessarily incompatible. I think that this is one reason why many atheists have a 'soft spot' for Buddhism. There are some branches or strands of Buddhism that are atheistic. Atheism in general is not necessarily incompatible with religion per se.

Hey there, french atheist, here. I can confirm (from a western perspective) that I have a soft spot for buddhism.
That's because buddhist's metaphysics is very close to western traditional "proto-atheism", like democritus, heraclitus and parmenides' thought. Of course, buddhism still conveys tons of superstitions, but at least it offers a different perspective on the "accumulated" and temporal nature of the mind, as opposed to the concept of eternal soul.
I always have wondered, by the way, how can buddhists reconcile reincarnation with the anatman. That sounds rather contradictory to a non buddhist mind.

Their is clearly written in their Scriptures that you don't need to follow anything blindy,
If anything is factual, logical then you should have to follow...
But anything which is illogical, factless, Unscientific you don't have to follow it, their is no need to follow those things even if those things were tought by Budha himself....
So if you see any things which is illogical, factless, Unscientific rather than criticize those things you have to correct those things.....
That's the beauty of Buddhism and why Atheist don't criticize Buddhism....
But in other Religions their religious texts says that all the stuff in their Scriptures are truth and all the things mentioned their should have to practice without questioning.....
Whereas in Buddhism there is no such thing....

@@unknown_atheist When did I say that I will criticize buddha, but there are lot of people's in teravada, Mahayana, and other sects of Buddhist who believes in many different things such sprituallity, rebirth. Most of them believe that there is something happens to soul after death.

And that's why Even in Scriptures itself it is written that to follow only things which are logical, factual, scientific, etc.
So, technically there is nothing to criticize Buddhism but yeah you can criticize even Budha if their is such thing which is told by Budha is logicless, Unscientific, Factless,

And one more thing you should also have to look about History and culture of all Buddhist countries....
Cause Buddhism is originally Originated from India,

@@unknown_atheist U said that Buddhist scriptures got distroyed and some get corrupted, then how can someone learn about Buddha, how can someone says that this was taught by buddha if the scriptures got Corrupted. One more thing if I Call Mahayana , teravada , Tibetian Buddhist that what u are following is not teaching of buddha they will start mocking me.
