What an iconic band!!! Pink Floyd is the type of band that will be loved for generations to come! Amazing!
I attended live concerts of many big name bands, including Pink Floyd twice (Cincinnati and Miami). The best 2 concerts I have ever attended were Pink Floyd and Pink Floyd.
What year?
@@ignaciopillado6778 Cincinnati 1972 and Miami 1973. Both were on the Dark Side of the Moon tour. The difference was that Cincinnati was before the album release, and Miami was after the album was released.

@@ignaciopillado6778 It was amazing. Because Cincinnati 1972 was before the release of the album, I didn’t recognize the new songs, but I liked them. Miami 1973 was a few months after the release, and I knew all of the Dark Side songs they played. In both concerts, I remember thinking “I can’t believe I am actually seeing Pink Floyd live and in person.”

I saw this show, not this particular one that was filmed in London, but I saw them at the Rose Bowl a few weeks earlier. Best musical experience of my life. Just off the charts amazing. There aren’t many old school bands that still draw in teenagers like Pink Floyd. In fact I’m not sure if there really are any others now. When I was young (I’m almost 50 now), people my age were still listening to Zeppelin, Beatles, etc. I could name a bunch but you get my point. I don’t think young people are listening or appreciating most of that music now. But somehow when they hear Pink Floyd, it speaks to them just like it spoke to me and to the generation before me. My grandchildren someday will hear Pink Floyd and it will still sound brand new. They were magicians.

The pulse tour AND the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour were the best ever. Sound and lighting from the side of you and behind you. airplanes flying above you and crashing/exploding behind stage, lasers, disco ball. They make a show of it.

Excellent choice, brother! The PULSE Concert was actually the tour supporting Floyd's last studio album, "The Division Bell", and it was filmed (in native 3:4, sadly) over three nights at Earl's Court in London, England, with seating (at that time) of about 24,000. It was named the PULSE Concert because the original CD release (before any of the video releases came out) had a red LED in the spine that flashed, or 'pulsed'. PULSE has been called one of the greatest concert performances ever recorded.
I had the pleasure of seeing Floyd on tour twice, the second time for this tour, at 70,000-seat Sun Devil Stadium, and it was even better than it looks on video. The lights were SO tightly synced to the music that it was like they were another performer. And with speakers around the perimeter of the stadium, sound could come at you from anywhere. It's why seeing Pink Floyd live is called 'an experience'. They bring their own reality with them, and for three hours they allow you to visit them there. I've seen my share of concerts, and this tour was the best, hands down, it's not even close. If you want some entertaining reading, read up on the stats for the stage they had at this show, they're mind-bending. This turned out to be their last tour together, and as it's said, they blew out all the stops. A truly INCREDIBLE show.
The song that brought the house down was "Comfortably Numb", from PF's famous album, "The Wall". The studio version is great - the PULSE version is spectacular. You really need to react to it. And (once you've reacted to "Comfortably Numb") you can react to pretty much any song from the PULSE Concert, and know it will be the best version of that song.

Saw them first in the late sixties when they were supporting Jimi Hendrix. Tickets were equivalent of around 2 dollars. Seen them since in London at Docklands, Wembley and 6 nights at this run in Earls Court. Also at a few clubs and venues in the 70s, and at Knebworth in 1990 at the big charity gig. The Earls Court gigs were not only the best PF gigs Ive attended;, but the best gigs Iv'e ever been to. Luckily these Earls Court concerts were before the dreaded mobile phones appeared at concerts

2 life changing experiences of my life
I was at the Pulse concert on the 14th October 1994. Initially I went attended the concert on the 12th October, but some of the temporary seating collapsed and the gig was terminated after a couple of minutes. Fortunately we were able to return a couple of days later. about 100 people were injured, but nobody seriously. about 15000 fans attended and the atmosphere was brilliant.
Wow, that is awesome they were able to pull it back after such a tragedy and people were still able to enjoy!
The whole pulse concert is off the chart, IMO one of the best concert productions of all time to date. Get one of your kids to sit with you and watch ComfNumb or their closer RUN LIKE HELL. It’s visually stunning. This is Earl Courts in England, 15 sold out shows at their end of the world tour.

I sadly have never seen Pink Floyd but I did see Roger Waters who did almost all Another Brick in the Wall and Dark Side and it was beyond amazing. They’ve been one of my favorite bands since I was about 7 years old thanks to my awesome parents. My dad is the one who brought me to see Waters when I was 15 and I’ve seen over 100 bands live and Waters was by far the best. Their shows are second to none it’s not just the amazing music
Pink Floyd is my favorite band. I was fortunate enough to see them live twice. Once in 1988 and once in 1995 for the Pulse tour. I had VIP floor seats for that. It was absolutely amazing. David Gilmour is a legend in my opinion. His guitar skills are out of this world. Especially in the 2nd solo of Comfortably Numb. No lyrics needed as the guitar sings and speaks to your soul.
Fun fact: all of the shows for the Pulse tour had to be held in outdoor venues such as football/baseball stadiums due to the lasers.

First time I have seen Floyd was in 1977 at the Montreal Olympic Stadium.

I was there in London for this concert, not the filmed one but a couple of days earlier. It was certainly the equally loudest gig, the other being the Who, and while the Who was a raw sound, this was sublime. Looking back i still cant believe how lucky i was to see them

I've seen Pink Floyd live four times in three different decades! Twice in the seventies seeing the Dark Side of the Moon tour in 74 and their in the flesh tour in 77 with the original four after Syd Barrett. That 77 concert was beyond intense I saw at least a dozen to 15 people hauled out because they had freaked out because of the intensity of the music the visuals and everything going on! Saw them in 87 for the momentary lapse of reason tour and this 1994 Pulse concert. I've seen about 100 concert in my life from ACDC to led Zeppelin and everyone in between alphabetically and nobody and I mean nobody puts on a better show than Floyd!! That 94 concert was a beyond belief production that you could feel the music but you always can with Pink Floyd they surround you with speakers and put you inside a giant set of headphones the way they configure their sound production for their concerts!!

I’ve loved Floyd since the early 1970’s. Saw them do ‘The Wall’. Twice. Mind blown.
I met Nick Mason in the early 1980’s while he was learning to fly around the same time David Gilmour was doing the same. What a gentleman he is. I wasn’t particularly surprised to see ‘Learning To Fly’ appear on their 1987 release ‘A Momentary Lapse Of Reason’. Saw them that tour and again for the Pulse tour in ‘94 so I’m lucky enough to be able to say that I don’t have to imagine what it was like to be there. It was truly spectacular. You should look at the live version of ‘Comfortably Numb’ from the Pulse tour. Gilmour’s solo is often said to be the greatest rock guitar solo ever and it might well deserve that accolade. All I know for sure is that if it doesn’t stir something in your soul, you may need to check your own pulse to see if your heart’s stopped beating.

Big Pink Floyd fan here since the release of DSOTM album in 1973, I was a 17 year old Rock guitarist in a local band att. That album blew me away! I was fortunate enough to garner tickets to one of the only 12 Concert dates of "The Wall" World Tour in the US in 1980.
I saw them at The Coliseum in Uniondale, Long Island NY in February of 1980.
Because of the massiveness and logistics of that particular tour, they performed only 12 shows in the USA in 1980, 6 on the east coast, and 6 on the west coast. A normal PF world tour would have 50, 60, or even more shows in the US.
At 67 years old I still play my guitars virtually every day, mostly 1970s tunes, PF, and others. Of all the great guitarists from the late 60s and 70s when I was growing up, (Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Page, and many others), Gilmour made the biggest impression on me, he's different from the rest imo. The emotion, feel and patience in his playing was always a huge inspiration to me.
Love to see you react to more of 1994 Pulse Concert, (Earls Court, London), some suggestions,... "High Hopes", "Sorrow", "Comfortably Numb" as you've never, EVER heard it! An incredible 4-minute song ending David Gilmour guitar solo!

As s drummer, you absolutely need to watch their Pompeii film from 1971 (or 1972?). It will make you fully appreciate what a beast Nick Mason was at the time, which of course this dong doesn’t quite capture because it’s not a percussion heavy song. Still one of my favorites though!
