My shower has been dripping for months if not over a year. When my house was built in 18 my plumber told me this was a specific shower and any maintenance would need a plumber. Thanks to this video, I went to HD grabbed a cartridge and within 7 minutes had it changed out and fixed. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
@@jjohnnydaman happy to help
Great vid - very helpful. I have a Moen shower faucet, which is of course built a bit different, but the basics from this video apply. For original residential owners of Moen faucets they have a lifetime warranty against leaks, so I just called them up, told them my issue and model number and they shipped a cartridge out to me free of charge. No receipt required!
Thanks! I’m gonna call them today.
Just used your video to work through my leaking shower, and it was brilliant! I appreciate you!
I'm like you. I'm always hesitant to get involved with any kind of plumbing. But your video has given me the confidence to take on the same job. Thanks
My daughter is having this issue so what an invaluable video for new younger homeowners. Thank You!
Thank you!!! Your step by step tutorial was to the point and informative. I will be using your tutorial to change out my MOEN cartridge that is causing the same issue as was your Delta cartridge.
Thank you for this video. I followed step by step and it worked like a charm.
Oh man thank you so much for the video! Just did this replaced the part now its good as new! Saved me alot of money!
Super helpful, very clearly presented. thanks!
EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you!🙏🏼
Thank you my friend, you detailed this DIY video to perfection…my wife is so happy now that this dripping has came to a stop. You saved me some money and shortened up my HONEYDOO list …Thanks again
Glad to help!

Exactly what I needed to know. Thank U I have the same set up and repairs were made.

Great video. Thank you for this!!
Great video... Very helpful... Thanks!
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! VERY DETAILED!! & I NEEDED THIS!! I have SUBCRIBED!
This was great! Thanks!
Thanks I was able to fix my issue using your video. Had a piece of pex stuff in the rubber and mesh. Took it out and it stopped leaking. House is only a year old so I did not think it was a bad gasket yet.
great info.. easy to follow
Thank you my husband will try now!
Thank you so much ! I’m a widow help me so much ! Your amazing!
This was so easy to follow, thank you!
Good!! You're welcome
that easy great thanks you saved me lots of money
Great job.
Great video. I like to do things the hard way so I stripped the allen bolt on step one
Very helpful video!!!!! Thank you!
Good job, good video. Love your T-Shirt.
Video was very informative I have an old shower valve mine is hot and cold I'm still going to have my plumber man come and do it for me he's going to charge me $350 for parts and labor but I still love your video very insightful very informative
wow 👌 👏 😍 👍 very impressive thank you 😊
Great clip, mate. Secrets revealed.
Saved my a$$. I'm golden with electrical, but plumbing DIYs scare me. I got this Delta cartridge changed out right, the first time. Thanks!
No problem!
Thanks....this fixed my leaking shower and now my wife stopped complaining about it :
Ayyye! My guy, thanks 🙏🏼
Thanks Brother!
thank you
Thanks...I am a new widow with a dripping shower. Can't afford a plumber so will try to fix myself.
I had to get new delta valve seats for ours. The new style valve seats do not work on this older style faucet, I finally fixed it by getting them from true value. They had a pack with the old style delta valve seats and the new.
well done
That cartridge comes apart with on twist and there is 2 springs and 2 black seals. That is the reason alot of time for the leaks two. If you expand the rings slightly it can fix the problem with no need for a cartridge, you can also but the springs and seals that are inside.
I learn something today🙏
Great work 👍
thanks
Ty for the vid - also hilarious electrical and plumbing are the ones I am not nervous about, where you are the opposite! Too bad I’m in the northeast we could trade work! 😂
Another great one❤
Thanks
Thanks
I do actually have this problem that's why I'm watching this video. My wife is also being driven crazy, thanks brother!
Did u fix it
Thank you sweetie
I have a tub with a shower wand. Water seems to slowly build in my faucet, and eventually leaks out, so I changed my faucet to a newer model. It doesn't build up as fast as it did, however, it still will leak over time. Is it possible that it's my shower wand?
Thank you, man. This was helpful.
Thanks, gonna try this today. I think you forgot the silicone at the end for the cover though.
Thank you !! The instructions worked for me😊
Thank You for such a great video. Are you from NC or VA?
I had my delta cartridge replaced, which was very difficult because of the corroded water that kind of sealed the old one in. Now we got a new showerhead and that is leaking nonstop, drip drip, drip any suggestions? Thank you.
Thanks for the video. I changed the delta valve cartridge but still there is leaking from the showerhead. Do you have any recommendations for what to do in this case?
Good video ..I have an exposed Casanic shower and it’s leaking from handle ! Can’t seem to get handle off to get a look at cartridge
I had this same problem house is 25 years old everything looks and works good just that leak.i called local plumber he came a couple hours later quoted me $450.00 to do what you just did so I've ordered parts and strap.
Nice
I'm the same way.. also a Patriot.. military vet.. I also do things myself but am hesitant with electrical and plumbing.. those are the 2 things I'm not 100% comfortable with.. I also use the same face wash you have in the background.. lol
Quick question, do i need also shut off my water heater when shutting off main water?
I change the cartridge and it is still leaking. Any advice. Please and thank you.
Changing out a toliet!
I rent and don't wana deal with my landlord. Is there any problem if I go about fixing this same issue by installing a flow valve on the head itself?
Great video, but 2 suggestions:
1. Give that pipe in the wall a wipe before installing the new cartridge.
2. Before installing the decorative covers, turn the water on and check for leaks. It will at the very least give you peace of mind knowing you did not introduce a leak inside the wall.
My shower has 2 handles. Hot and cold, do you have a fix it Video for that?
Glad I'm not the only one. I also need a vid because my shower head and my hot water knob are leaking.
Same here
Same
I will not fix anything to do with doors 😂 Simple plumbing and electrical issues are not a problem, just doors! Cabinets, drawers, room doors - unless it’s simple planting WHILE the door is hung I won’t touch it.
Thanks for the great video! My husband thanks you!!
Me too.not so much plumbing but electrical is kinda nerv racking
I'm having problems getting the screw out the handle? I can un-loosen and tighten the screw but the screw will not come totally out
It's possible that you don't have to take it completely out, just depends on the make and model I assume
Okay thanks for the video I replaced the cartridge out everything back on turned the water back on ran it followed the last steps and BAM! I still have a drip from my shower head! Any ideas now?
Same...
I changed the cartridge but water still dripping from the shower head. Do you have other suggestions I can do? Thank you so much .
it could be the shower head. So remove just head and wrap plumbers tape around the end of the spout and screw back on the shower head 😊
I put ours in 15 years ago. Where do I look to see what kind of handle it is?
I would take out the old cartridge and bring it with you to the store to make sure you get the correct one
What if it starts dripping a month after replacing the whole shower fixture with a new shower fixture ?
I cannot be able to find the small hole and small screw on my Delta knob as you show at 2:55 in the video. I do not see it anywhere on the faucet. Thank you very much.
It's usually covered by a small rubber cap
Hint, most companies will send you a new cartridge free of charge. I know that Moen & American Standard will.
what if i do not know the make or model of my shower faucet? Do they have universal cartridges?
Start by taking the old one out. Then bring it with you to the store to compare
@@PatriotDIY i am new to having to do home improvements. If i cant find a replacement, that means i have to replace the entire faucet. can i cap the shower faucet so i can turn the water back on, while i am waiting to replace the faucet?
I have a 2006 ReBath model. Tried three different cartridges all still fast drip. Tried lubing seals with silicone grease. I may try lubing ceramic disc with silicone grease. I removed the inner piece, no evidence of leaks there, but replaced o-ring and seal anyway. I am at my wits end. Nothng is corroded or looked bad, new parts made no difference to the drip. Even tried over tightening, no change.
Hate to say it...but may be time to call a plumber lol
My faucet is 35 years old how do you change that old of a faucet??
And if the silver ring doesn’t wanna come off ??
How do you keep the outside part so clean? Ours gets this like white looks like some type of lime sediment buildup or something
Sounds like hard water, you need some kind of in line water filter
@@PatriotDIY sounds like a plumber issue unless it's an easy install?
@nicholasgenaris327 probly pretty easy, get under the house and shut your water off, then cut the pip and add the filter, then reattach the pipe......but ive never done it
Do you got turn the water off
Yes!
Let me do that electrical and plumbing for u I'm real good at that 40 years in the game.
replaced A Delta shower cartragebut still dripps
Brand? Moen? Delta? American Standard?
You didn't need to touch the back plate
Put a new one in it’s still dripping
I replaced mine and now the shower won’t turn off at all. 😢
😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Don’t like messing with electricity
thank you!!! explained this very well!!
I just paid a plumber $300 to do this 😵
🫣
I cant pay 200 i would pay 100
“Quick” almost 12 minute video 😐
You know youtube has this really nifty feature that allows you to skip ahead in the video if you want!
Though I assume if you knew how to do it any faster you wouldn't be watching this video...
