Another great video! Great comparisons and very specific, much appreciated. I'm *this* close to pulling the trigger on an AWU from my AW7/Forerunner 955 combo. My training needs/plans have changed, and the AW features in conjunction with my iPhone, Mac, AirPod Pros, etc. are so convenient.
Great vid! London looks quiet different at the moment with the Christmas decorations though 😄 Amazing city.
Excellent video! It’d be interesting to see how these both compare when running in the hills. Especially how they compare in tracking elevations and heart rate in those challenging situations. It’d be great if you could do one such video comparison too. Thanks.

Great detail in these videos! I converted to Garmin Fenix 6 2 years ago having had the Apple Watch Series 1, 4 and 5.
I use garmin pay on my watch, never had any issues after you input the 4 digit passcode.
Not as slick as the Apple Watch but works. I set it up as a hot key on the garmin watch so just hold one of the buttons and the wallet opens

I lived in the US my whole life and recently moved to Vancouver Canada and one thing I’ve noticed is that the rest of the world has adopted TAP payment system as the standard and parts of the US are still chip only.
You won’t find a place that doesn’t accept tap/Apple Pay for the most part here
Here in Denmark it's 99,99% of places as well - almost never know where my wallet is - just paying for stuff with my watch
Same in Australia. I pay with my Apple Watch exclusively.
During my 7 years stay in UK, i think last 4 years were spent wearing Apple Watch. Not one shop, transport system declined Apple Pay. It is an amazing service by Apple and the way UK have embraced it. Glad you liked running around in London. Keep them coming Shervin, love your videos.
I wish the US was like that too! So convenient to have it available everywhere - will do! Paris is next! But now I need more ideas - what else should I do & where else should I go?
@shervin come over to Zurich/Switzerland. Apple Pay everywhere and amazing places to go running/trail running. But wait until it's spring :)
Im torn, I normally wear a garmin watch to basically keep track of daily distance- HR- sleep tracking. I bought an apple watch series 8 to test, I actually started liking it. Im seriously thinking about the ultra now. In the dark the apple watch display is leagues better than the mip display

I’ve been using AWU since it came out and it’s always tracking less mileage than my wife’s Fenix. It’s a good smartwatch but I’m thinking about going back to Garmin because I don’t think the distance is as accurate on the AWU.

Hey Shervin! What camera gear are you using for your videos?
This is almost all shot on iPhone. Few clips using Canon R5
It’s funny you have to check everywhere if it’s possible to pay with Apple Pay. Here in The Netherlands at the introduction of Apple Pay every shop already supported it because we used NFC for years just with our bank cards. Nice thing of Apple Pay is unlimited credit because of the authentication.
I used Garmin Pay, a lot, when in Canada, Europe, or Asia. I don't see why a virtual credit card would be an issue in the US.
I use Garmin Pay all the time with my Fenix 6 in the US and have had no issues.
Phenomenal to pay literally everything by using Apple Watch. The day when also personal ID will be available on apple wallet, physical wallet will be an old memory.

Inaccuracies of the garmin caused me to switch after 10 years
I’ve used Garmin since 2016 (forerunner 235, then Fenix 5), picked up an Apple Watch series 8 on Black Friday and returned it and went back to the Fenix 5.
I love the structured work outs and “coach” being all in one place vs downloading apps to try and replicate that functionality
Main things that made me return it:
1) The work out app and the stop/start/pause functionality with the buttons is just so much better on the Garmin
2) Training plan tracking, the workouts show up on the watch and guide you through them
3) Having been a Garmin user for so long it’s hard to make the switch with all my data being in the Garmin eco system; sleep, steps, PRs etc.
Things I miss about the Apple Watch:
1) Apple Pay
2) texting replies and other “smart watch” things
3) screen clarity
Unlike most I didn’t find the battery to be a real issue when comparing head to head because I work at a desk so I just top it off while sitting and it was never really an issue even while traveling. I wish I just wore both 24/7 but I just can’t bring myself to do it.

@@ShervinShares I use Apple Pay everywhere in the UK, almost every day. Anywhere that takes a credit card will, in my experience, accept Apple Pay.
I think I've decided to get a Garmin Epix instead of an Apple Watch Ultra so I'm going to be really interested to see if Garmin Pay will be the same. I suspect it will be once I set up a Curve account to connect my bank up.
