I just bought a harmonica a couple of days ago, because I sit in a forklift all night on an industrial site in Northern Canada. But, I'm not that busy. It's no place for me to bring my guitar, and I've always wanted to learn a harmonica. And if you think about it, it's pretty ridiculous that there's this weird character, in the dark, sitting in a forklift, playing a harmonica.
So, I was looking around on TH-cam, and I found you. Since then I've been entertaining the heck out of myself in my forklift, because I've been learning from your videos.
But that's not why I'm taking the time to write a comment on here. The reason I'm writing a comment is because I want to tell you, that you're maybe one of the coolest people I've ever seen do any kind of instructional video on TH-cam. Just your vibe, is so awesome. You are definitely a very rad human being!
Thanks mate. I think your very cool jamming when you get the chance. Keep having fun!
I am 85, my sister and daddy played but I never tried . This makes me want to get one and see what I can do. You are FANTASTIC👍❤️🙏!
That’s great. I would recommend this lesson first as it is easier. m.th-cam.com/video/atTJlGR6K9w/w-d-xo.html just need key C harmonica. If you need one please check out

Still 85yrs young 😊
Great job. Will move from melody to enlarged chords.
Tks😅
It's never too late to start, you can do it!
Carolyn i just started today is my third day practicing ❤
👏👏👏👏👏 I hope you be always safe ❤❤❤
A good teacher makes you believe that you can do something and enthuses confidence and belief, this man is cool.
Thanks 😊
@@JuzzieSmithTH-camwhat kind of microphone you are using. I never saw this one.
Never thought I would be saying I'm so glad I have this in my algorithm.
That is an iconic riff and I'm now dusting of the 10 hole to master it. You are amazing teacher and listen to your music while I ride my motorbike coz it got soul. 😊
Thanks. Have fun learning 🎶
You are my brother, it doesn't matter when, in what country what nationality - this is the power of music. The power of love. Thank u, Juzzie!
Your the best teacher out there! It shows how much you love what you’re doing. Take care.
Thanks 😊
Juzzie Thanks for sharing !!
Thank you for showing us a very simple riff. I've been playing around with the harmonica for a couple of years and really enjoy it. I play only by ear and would love to see more of your videos on riffs for the blues. You make it easy to understand how to either draw or blow on the sound that is needed. Thank you.
Great you learn by ear. I’ll keep posting so stay connected 😊
Thank you! I have never heard anyone play as well as my grandmother - I wish I had a recording of it. Yours is the first lesson I can follow, so I hope to take your formal lessons soon!
Love this lick. I never could get the guitar and harmonica together. I spent the late 60s and early 70s driving across Texas at night traveling from one rodeo to the next holding the steering wheel with my knees playing country songs on the harp.
What a really pleasant teacher, great personality, I’m looking for my blues harp right now. Thank you.
Juzzie your a talented artist and someone everyone can relate to. You have a love of music and it shows . It Brings out the best in us beginners and makes us want to learn . You found your calling . Thank you . Keep the videos coming .
Thanks Randy 😊
You are such a legend bro, genuinely smiling and learning and you have a great way teaching. Big thanks from a beginner.
I was privileged to hear Paul Jones of the 60s group Manfred Mann and he could sure play harmonica ❤
Because of you (and Gussow, Wilde, Ricci etc;))i made people happy this weekend . Thank you.
You’ve got me dude !
Childhood dream of mine to play like this - I’m on it - thank you !
That’s great 👍
Me too!
I mean I'm trying.. u make it look easy
I love this rift and your way of teaching. It’s simple enough for me to grab a hold of it. I’ve been blowing the harmonica for a while, but have never been able to play along with a blues riff. I love this sound so much.❤
Just to say, after a couple days, it’s getting better and better! I am enjoying this so much.
This man's vibe is pure bliss and love. He is Godly.
When I first discovered your music and personality, I was an immediate fan.
Thank you for your contribution to the ocean of talent with your amazing perspectives!
Thanks Mark 😊
You know how to transmit your passion, it's really cool to learn with you and your good mood. Thanks again!
💯
Most likely the coolest video I have ever watched on TH-cam. Do not watch it in a rush!!!
Thanks 😊
At 66 you got me alllll Revved up on the C Harp Juzzie! Whoooooooooooooooooooo Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
That’s great. Have fun 😊
Picked up a harmonica for the 1st time 2 weeks ago ...after watching one of your performances on youtube ...now absolutely addicted to learning it .Thankyou for the inspiration
That’s great. Keep having fun
Learning to play at 46..love the sound of blues on the harmonica.. Will b watching intensely...
Great. 46 yrs young 🎶
I got a harmonica a month or two ago. I learned this riff from this video in a day, it blew my wife away that " I had gotten so good so fast" what she doesn't know won't hurt her. You are the man. Can't wait to amaze her some more after watching your videos. YOU ARE THE MAN.
Haha. That’s great. Keep surprising her 😁
Honestly I've wanted to learn the harmonica for years as I always though it was such a cool instrument. I bought one a few months ago and kind of gave up pretty quickly when I realised how long it must take to master. However, your videos are so easy to watch and understand, and then there's how good you make them sound, you've given me a second wind to stick with it. Much love.
That’s great Scott. Just play 15min each day and you will go a long way 👍
Awesome mate love the video.
If I may suggest when starting…if you overplay your lips and mouth get tired until they “muscle up” and your lips develop “calluses”. I got frustrated at first until I got past that. 15 mins is a good start.
I love listening to you play (and teach).
You are an awesome talent that i frequently share.
Thanks for sharing 😊
I pick up the bass last April (2022), never play a instrument in my 63 years. I know play in the band at our church and have sat in on a few jams. The mouth harp has always been on my list. Yes Muddy Waters’, “Manish Boy”, is THE song. You can Juan, improve lyrics etc. Your tutorial earned my subscription.
What a great lesson. I'm 70 years old and I'm straight to the music store to buy a harp. Cheers
That’s so cool 👍🎶
Juzzie Smith, You are the BEST !!
A good friend who played harmonica for 65 years recently passed away. He could make the instrument
walk and talk, and was a joy to hear, solo, or with the many musicians he jammed with over the years.
When she learned that he played harmonica, the doctor in the ICU put together a multi-hour blues
harmonica play list, to help ease his passing into the next world... Bless her heart...
Some time later, his friends discovered his legacy, a mini-SD card [ one-quarter the size of a postage stamp ]
containing hours of his playing and jamming, material for a CD he never got to put together...
OMG, What a Treasure ! His friends will be playing along at his memorial...
Just did a road trip with my daughter. Stopped at the cumberland gap and bought a harmonica. Seems as though Juzzie will be my teacher. Thank you for breaking so much down in your videos.
That’s great 👍
Thank you for sharing! You make it fun.
Sounds like you’re one of the luckiest men alive. Thanks for giving back.
Love you Juzzie, we are true musicians we play because we love it !!!😎👍🎶🎶🎵🎵🎶🎵🎶
My father bought me a harp when I was eight years old and he taught me the easiest tune to learn on a harmonica "three blind mice" I mastered that tune in a day and I've been playing the instrument ever since and I am currently teaching my grandson's to play anything they want just like their grandpappy 😉
That’s great 😊
This is so FUN! THANK YOU JUZZIE!
So Good, please put more classes guitar and harmonica, you are the best👏👏
Thank you so much for a good start for a 71 year old harmonica player wanna. Ordered my C harp.
That’s great. Have fun!
Turned. 77 a couple weeks back. Harmonica set gifted to me because I love the blues. Your tutorial has got me hungry… thanks pal!
That’s great. I look forward to hear how your going. Have fun!
I've enjoyed watching your instructional videos. My uncle was a harmonica player. He passed away recently and I inherited his case of harmonicas. I've thought of learning to play them and after watching your videos; I think its time to begin. Thank you for sharing your gift of talent.
Thanks. Great you now have a harmonica collection. I’m sure your uncle would be happy 😊
Do it! You won't regret it.
Enjoy,if u got them passed down, clean them and then enjoy them,my all got ripped off at a house party in1972,am still pissed Abt it😢😢😢😢
Had a guy at a bar give me my first harmonica last week. Always wanted one, never bought it. Then I found you as I looked for lessons online. What a breath of fresh air you are, sir! Your energy is fantastic and you're always smiling. The world needs more of you. I ordered a Hohner Special 20 the other day, hope it's got the growl I'm looking for but either way, I think I'll take your course and get after it. You have truly inspired me with this little lick here and with some practice I'll get it down. I confuse the suck and blow lmao. I hope this message finds you well and thank you for the great energy!
Thanks Shane. Have fun learning the harmonica 😊
You are really good at teaching, keep sharing that talent that God gave you.
You do something very good to this world.
Thanks 😊
Wow that was fabulous. Thank you so much. I am now inspired to practice again after becoming stale and getting bogged down. You are truly inspiring. What a wonderful teacher
Great teacher. You make it sound so easy!
You have made me sooooooo happy! I have wanted to be able to play that for about 20 years, finally bought a harmonica and with your help I am doing it!!!! Didn’t think I would be able to do that EVER! Thank you so much!!!!!
That’s great. Keep playing! 😊
It's been on my To Do List for years. But geez, Muddy Waters.... This is bookmarked and I will eventually get to it!
I stumbled across this video and honestly can’t remember how I ended up here lol. I have played guitar so long it just comes naturally. So music is in my blood and I said what would be a fun add on instrument. So one day on a trip I stopped by Cracker Barrel and picked a cheap 10$ harmonica and had a lot of fun. Well I was gifted one in the key of E and had good intentions for it but I never was able to get it to do what i wanted to do with it. This video was one of those were it’s like oh it was that simple but I would never had figured it out. Great video. You did an excellent job explaining how to play. Now I wish I still had my harmonica in the hey of C lol.
Many Thanks Juzzie! what a great groove and so nice to play! So much feel to it!
Thank you so much. I just started on the harmonica and this is fun and simple to follow. Awesome thank you!
Thank you, Juzzie! Can't wait to try it out 😁
Yes!! Where have I put my harmonica? It's been decades.. thanks fore reminding me what great fun it is❤
Keep ‘em coming!!!!
Dude you rock. Thanks for the simplicity!!
Very cool. Your clear passion and joy for music is infectious. 🤠
I really appreciate you sharing the knowledge of your talent. Please, please keep them lessons coming.
Thanks and will do 😊
Wow, I’ve been working with your videos to help me learn to play harmonica. I’ve been at it for about a month now and the fact that I am able to follow along with you and I’m beginning to understand your “short hand”, I’m really, really enjoying this journey. I’m a 59 year old man who has never been musically inclined and here I am actually learning how to play an instrument. I am beyond grateful for the knowledge that you have been sharing with us and I am looking forward to seeing all of your videos and eventually engaging in your classes. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. You are an Awesome Artist. Be well.
Thank you very much Juzzie.
Hey, I'm from Bali, Indonesia, I'm 68 years old, just learning harmonica🫢.
Surprised to find someone like you who is so much fun to watch, so friendly, so simple; the people around you must be so much fun too.
I can't move from note to note beautifully yet, but with the help of your video, I will keep practicing.
When you get a chance to travel to Bali, please let me know, best regards🙏🙏🙏
Wicked! Finally a great lesson from somebody! 🤘🏻😎 thanks!
Great tuition Juzzie, simple explanation for an effective sound. Thanks
Merci beaucoup. I'm a piano Newbie and learning music of all types is inspirational. I'll jam along with the 88's but I learned what you said about keeping the rhythm.
67 years old, and just picked this thing up. I might be too old. But I am not doing this to impress anyone. We will see how far it takes me. Been looking for a little bit on here. And so far you are the easiest for me to follow. Thank you.
Your the best ,I’ve been trying to play all my life ,saw a old guy on the street corner in Philadelphia when I was a little kid and was hooked now I’m 66 but can’t play very good but this lesson here is just what I needed, thanks

Thank you for explaining what I have been doing for 60 plus years. I could never tell anyone how I was playing I just figured it out and played. lol Nice job.
Always wished in my life that I would have met someone like you you seem so easy to listen to and it's obvious you just love what you're doing and I do too thank you
Thanks Juzzie, your teaching is unreal, what an inspiration. Fair play to you. I'm sure you've made so many peolpe's lives better. very grateful to have found your videos. Cool af as well.

Finally, I've had my blue's harp since 197?. Juzzie, I found someone I can learn from. Thanks 👍
Awesome! love your music! Thanks!
When I was a kid my dad played a Hohner harmonica and would allow my brother and I to blow on it. He could play a few songs on it but for some reason never taught us. Now at 76 I'm learning both the harmonica and the ukulele. Such fun! Great teaching!
Thank you for this! Great fun to follow along even though I’m much better in my head than I am in reality!🙏
2024 is the year I learn harmonica, plan to do 15 minutes a day, great vids slow and concise which is what I need !
