A great Harmonica for a great price is Juzzie Smith Blues Harmonica.
    juzziesmith.com/store/juzzie-...
This song uses the Key C
Sections in this video for quick reference
    1.06 - Train Rhythm
    5.20 - Tongue Shapes
    7.05 - Hand Cupping
10.50 - Wha Wha “All Aboard”
    14.00 - Mixing Rhythms
16.45 - Sonny Terry Style ‘Hoots’
    17.50 - Fast Single Notes
    20.00 - Jam with Juzzie
When I was 13yrs I got my first harmonica. I really wanted to imitate a train sound. I slowly sped up this rhythm with a metronome getting a little faster every day. I now look back on this rhythm and how it shaped my style and ability to play harmonica the way I play today. This lesson covers a lot of great exercises to practice. Take your time and enjoy the train ride.

I am 60. I bought my 1st harp at 14 but didn't play it much . I now wish I had put more effort into it . I have been playing for a year now and starting to put things together. It's gratifying to play a little music . Stick with it .

You’ve a wonderful way to explain. I’ve always liked guitar and have never been so interested in harmonica, but you have changed my mind about this. Isn’t it strange how a person can influence you when you do it in the right way. It’s about how your soul can accept to learn and make you happy to find the key to open up your mind. Swedish greetings from Thailand.

Always comming back to this! Always see whole video! Its so great explain! I jam in my car every time i go to work! Small steps every time i go. Lissen to mp3 i buy from your webshop. Sometimes i just playing for fun and its not always sounds good, but it feels good to training on how hard/soft i blow, and like you say, its fantactic how just 3-4 holes whitout moving lips, just use same holes, can sound so different! I got 10 harmonica in just one hole! Its mindblowing and something i dont even coud dream of before i begin to try out different versions of tongue and trouth movement mixed with hard/soft blow and speed. Its fun to go to work haha! Munspel (swed) is in my heart for all time now and its because of you! You isperied me so mutch and i always loved harmonica, but expect its to hard for me to learn so i never try for real. Try little when i was 12 and never more after that. It took 35 years of my life, till i find you to inspere me to try again! And now 2 Harmonica in my pocket! I will wait till my 50 years birthday, then i plan to blow all away on my train playing, no one, not even my wife know i training mouthplay, i hope all blow of they chair and say: WOW i had no idea you coud play harmonica 😄
Long text, but its my way to say: Juzzie, Thanks for sharing and learn out harmonica playing to us all!
You are a truly inspiration to very meny people! Wish you all good to you and your family! P.D from Sweden

Hey Juzzi. Just wanted to let you know I love your stuff. Just so excellent. Im starting getting into one-man-band stuff just now and adding a harmonica. your videos are a great source of inspiration. My biggest problem is getting super dizzy after a few bars of rhythm and i suspect it might be air control maybe ? Do you have any vids courses on how to deal with that ? You are a true legend man ! Hope you and your family are gonna have an excellent 2024.

Love your playing mate. I’ve been working on the shuffle chugging and, like you said, start out slow. I started out at 60 bpm and I just got up to 200 bpm. Still it doesn’t sound like yours. I’m curious. When you are chugging nice and fast, like in the video, how many bpm is that? I’m just wondering if I’m getting close or just missing something. Thanks.

Hello mate, what a video. I picked up a harmonica 3 days ago and thanks to you im already feeling like im confident in certain areas. Just a couple of questions mate please. I have a Hohner Pioneer C 10 hole harmonica and im really struggling with my 2 draw, as i noticed you mention in a previous video. Is it always ok to use 3 blow instead for 2 draw? i think it may be the harmonica aswell sounding really flat as its only a cheap one (£13)- I have just ordered a hohner marine band for £30 will this make a bit of difference? Im getting every other single note fine just not this. And second question- I have just been learning by watching videos on youtube of the basics really, how to hold, how to play single notes, then how to play certain songs with single notes. But i am just curious, i watched your video (number 1 harmonica groove that will blow youre friends away) and it was great it helped me loads, but i was just wonering on what you think the best approach is to learn? like i feel like i would really benefit with some advice on what you think is the best process, as im just unsure what i should be looking to learn first and the order up until say bends etc, there doesnt seem to be a set way of doing things but i was just wondering your opinion. at present i have learned the full video of yours with the 3 riffs, along with learning how to hold and how to play single notes, i also currently u block for single notes and i have read that this may be an issue in the future, can you help please? sorry for the long question, thanks for all the videos!!

Hi James. Great your lovin the harmonica. Hole 2 inhaling is very important. A lot of people struggle with this note. Try inhaling air through nose while mouth if you can. Also think of yawning as this is relaxed open throat. I created a course that is really good for technique. Also helps you learn lots by ear. 67 lessons so you just learn one a day and within two months you will play really good. Technique is really important from the start. I use lips and good seal for single notes. If you would like to check out my course here is a link juzziesmith.com/store/67-harmonica-lessons-mp3/ have fun

Thanks Norman. Your tongue can make great tone changes. Just work on that. I don’t use hand cupping much as always in holder while playing guitar. Awesome your playing 👍

The trick is to start on the bend and release it. That gives the wha wha sound 👍

What key are you using sir ??? or does it matter , my fave key is A .

      @JuzzieSmithYoutube  ปีที่แล้ว +1

I’m using key C. When you learn it then play on A. Also one of my favourite keys 😊

Hey Juzzie, is there anything I could do for you to be my harmonica teacher? I already know how to play it, I'm currently looking for a teacher to join me in the journey of improving my skills and become a professional

Hi Rebeca. I would recommend listen to the old greats like little Walter and Sonny boy Williamson. Learn to workout licks by ear and then use them in your own style. I’ll be creating more lessons at a professional level soon so best advice is try and imitate the greats 👍
