They used to be incredible back in 1.4.2 and a few patches before they removed the Shock Troops. They had less HA but not by a lot but had around 62 body armour ehich was 8 points less than the maximum. And had like 40 arm armour.
I liked them even more than linebreakers back then. The combination of the executioner's axe and great body armor made them very deadly, especially for close quarters combat during .
@@Eddison33 Yea,I remember fighting Aserai armies with multiple Palace Guards. They were wrecking my Legionaries. Back then the Menavliatons would cost around 1.000 denars while the glaives a whooping 128 denars. Holy moly the game was broken back then.
use the shield filter. If you look on my channel i have a tutorial on how to understand the Battle Order system. it's not perfect but a lot of people struggle using it since they don't realize there is a filter
in 1.8. throwables are actually really good. 3 axes don't make a huge difference, which i do state. But having throwables is way better than not having them , as far as i am concerned, since there might be situations were they do come in handy
You know, a unit with "Guard" in them are supposed to be great. 😑It hurts seeing TW nerfing originally great units into either okay, mediocre, or useless units. Higher tiered troops are supposed to be great. 😭

Be sure to vote in a few days when we are going to make the poll for Empire or Khuzait.
New helmet for Palace guard downgrade from closed steel cap which is now for veteran infantry only.
You give too much credit to the throwing axes, instead of 'utility' i would use the word useless to describe them.
