Bannerlord Kingdoms Tier List For Conquering Calradia
Some kingdoms do have it easier than others when it comes to taking over Calradia.
Some can start very strong from the early game and others take much longer to take shape and get the war machine working properly.
In this video i take my 4500 hours of experience over multiple patches to give you my subjective opinion on which factions/kingdoms will give you the best odds to reaching your world dominance goals.
I'll do my best to tell you about strengths and weaknesses of each one of them.
Be sure to check out my Best Cavalry video: th-cam.com/video/3EfyL1jwDjM/w-d-xo.html
Or my Best Shock Troops video: th-cam.com/video/JdxDcO0bKpg/w-d-xo.html
As some of you might now i am not a fan of videos like these ones.
Altough the information might be of high value a well edited guide is far superior in satisfaction and quality.
But, alas, i am afraid that lately with a personal life getting busier and busier there isn't much more time i can dedicate to do my best in improving your Bannerlord knowledge and experience.
Hope you will still find the information of value and one day i hope to be back making the well edited and thoroughly researched videos you have grown to associated with this channel.

The Battanian roster is so weird. There is pretty much no preason to not just spam Fian Champions. Even in melee they outperform all the other units.
So, are they unplayable? Idk if there’s been any updates since this vid but I just got the game and want to do a battanian cavalry run. Is it going to be an up-hill struggle or are they just bad compared to other cav but you can still win if you spam them?
Hey, i am the guy who made the video. I have no idea about the state of the game right now, since i have neither played or kept up to date with the meta. Depending on the difficulty you play on the Horseman might still be decent, but for more info i suggest asking to Flesson19 and his community, he is one of the oldest content creators of the game and him and his community are still active and playing Bannerlord. Hopefully i helped you out.
@ appreciate that, mate. Cheers 🍻
Best horse archer, best shock infantry, one of the best heavy shock cavalry, second best foot archer, one of the best armor. They are just too powerfull. İ took out a lot 1000-1500 solid armies with 300-400 khans guards with minor casualties when you do some tactics. With just f1+f3 you still win but with a little bit more casualties.
There's no reason for these Units to be so OP, horse archers should always be inferior heavy cavalry they are so unbalanced with both their ranged and melee weapons
Only con is economy of upkeeping an army of Batanian fians is much higher then most other troops that is only con
The aserai infantry are good with the best commander ability and tactics, like in throwing skills there is a point skill your troops can deal 50% damage to shield with throwing weapons which can make it easier for them to outmatch other infantry after destroying their shields , also their spears can dismount enemy cavalry and knockdown their infantry simply they just need a smart player to use them
At this point I just subconsciously upgrade units I get in a certain way Aserai Recruit - All viable that I can afford to close my eyes and pick a random upgrade, though I tend to avoid Mameluke Cavalry Imperial Recruit - Legionary, Menavliaton, and Palatine Guard depends on what I need. I might add XBows from time to time but I prefer Vlandian or Mercs for that. Battanian Recruit - Almost Always Falxmen Vlandian Recruit - Most I turn to Voulgiers, some to Marksmen, a few to Sergeants Sturgian Recruit - Mostly Heavy Axemen and Linebreakers, I completely avoid the Woodsman branch Khuzait Recruit - I generally avoid them, I only want their nobles. If I do get them in large number, I turn them into archers and dump them in an allied castle.
Number one being your own kingdom, duh.
You understand that with wildlings you need to use engage command not just charge or stay at place, yes? 10 or with skill 12 javs at 120+ each with 150 (captain bonus) throwing skill and bonus shield damage. I doubt a lot more than half enemy infantry will get to a melee. They only problem is heavy shock cav. They don't heave spears and not able to throw enough of javs before cavalry hits. For any missile cavalry wildlings are scourge.
no shit Sherlock. i only conquered Calradia back in the day using only wildlings and myself as a throwing captain. Still the Wildling was very limited, prone to dying a lot and needed massive turnover to keep the army going. Javs where great for the start of the battle and then not so much as there is no AI behavior that rotates troops that run out of javs with troops that still have them. And yes i did make separate groups; and yes i did make thin lines to maximize Javelin throws. Therefore the rating is fair for the time this video was made Summer 2022 and if i dare to say it even slightly overrated. And if you want to question my tactical skill at the time you have twitch vods and higlights of battles. There are a few even here on YT. Enjoy them you might learn something about combat at the time, some tricks might even be good today.
Pikemen can definitely be micro managed at the front line have like 20 or so of them and then the rest of infantry, I’ll try it and see but I know I can make a use for them in campaign
What does unit X stand for on the chart?
Marksman. This video is over 2 years old. is the information here even still up to date? I haven't played since then
Vasans our hard too manage
How?
With an epic name like ‘khan’s guard’, I’d expect them to be the strongest Khuzait unit fieldable. I don’t actually see any issue with them, as they’re an elite top tier unit. If you get to the point where you have 300 of them, you’d expect to be a fricken demolisher. Their con is their difficulty to replace due to the exclusivity and resources required. What I actually believe is overpowered is the auto battle mechanics and how a bunch of lowlife infantry can overrun castles with few losses in a matter of seconds 😂
Does this apply in August 2024?
Hi, can't tell since i haven't played in a while. you can ask a buddy TH-camr of mine, Flesson19 if he thinks the videos are still up to date.
@@LyonExodus I tried it out, and I gotta tell ya…you’re on the money 😆
I never used these because I’m not a fan of blunt weapons. I don’t want prisoners and to be honest, I wish there was an “execute” button so I don’t have to just let them go 🤷♂️
Dude, you sound just like gru!!! Cool 😎
I'm experimenting with using them as dragoons. Going for a Sturgian/battanian army. Use them to harass and kill archers and keep enemy cav busy while my archers are earning their paycheck, then when the infantry lines meet I charge then dismount behind them. Suddenly the enemy has in practical terms a force of teir 6 infantry attacking them from the rear while my sturgian infantry is tying them up from the front. The AI shits the bed. Another great use is to have them dismount and hold a strategic position on the battlefront like a bridge before the enemy can put it to any use until the bulk of my infantry gets there. Having strong infantry holding a funnel while fians do their work is disgusting. Sturgians require a little more skill to wield properly, but when you figure them out they can be devastating. Just shun open field engagements if possible. Make the enemy fight you in the woods, rivers, mountains, villages, and other rough terrain.
The role of horse skirmishers in real life is to engage cavalry because horses are rarely armored.
Just edit the xml file so it has less melee skill and it’s balanced
I recommending editing the xml to give pikemen a shield and higher polearm skill and then they are more useful
20 bolts weighs around 2 pounds in real life just saying. Is it really that heavy to add some more?
Hey Hey. they can totally block arrows. Just.. only once or twice, is all
Disgrace to the Rhodes. Disgusting.
Doesn’t need noble horse
I feel quite hungry
Its pain in the ass to recruit these things unless ur playing kuzait. Can't kuzait settlements when at wars. Can only recruit like 30 noble sons before they declare war on u Recruiting them as prisoners is the only viable way. And steppe bandits.. how tf are we supposed to catch em
Historically they had some of the best horses and armor
The keshig are the khans guard if it was lore accurate
Darn Shame this guy doesn’t make videos any more :(
Omg, the Oathswron body armor costs 72k. Wow
Too OP? Hmmm that's why Huns and Golden Horde capture a half world 🤔
Just the opposite khans guards the unit make game balanced as they are shock troops. And khuzait lacks shock troops. İf it werent for them. Khuzait would be worse copy of empire or aserai. İ think fians and crossbows kinda op.
I see the title I see Battanian Fian
Let's see, it is realistic that the mounted archers are OP, there is a reason why the Mongols conquered so much as they were nomads with nothing more than horses, and even more so in times of light infantry on large plains, the elite of these units it is logical that they are the best in the game, excellent unmatchable archers on fast horses with a great spear and charging ability, for me the nerf should be that they should be much more expensive to get, that you need noble horses instead of warhorses to upgrade to that point, or both, with higher maintenance cost, even so it is difficult to maintain realism in a game when reality was not balanced, the horse archers were always OP
"Khan's Guard are overpowered." Genghis Khan who conquered 1/3 of the world: "Am I a joke to you?"
The producers of the game are Turkish. Armağan Yavuz (the producer of the game) says that Khuzait comes from the Turkish-Mongolian tradition. But you insistently claim that he is Mongolian. Do you have a problem with Turks? Why does it bother you that such powerful troops come from the Turks? The majority of Genghis Khan's army consisted of nomadic Turks. If this were not the case, Mongolia's population would not be 3 million today. Millions of Turks live in Central Asia and Anatolia. Please review your thoughts. Even the helmet of the Khan's Guard was inspired by the Kipchak Turks. If you Google Kipchak Helmet, you will see it.
mate i am sorry but you have understood very little about this video. There is absolutely no problem of ethnicity with the unit. it's the fact that watching the video again might show you how that unit can singlehandedly replace, almost fully, exception made for the Darkhans, every unit of the Khuzait rooster. I am not taking historical accuracy, or any racist take on the unit, just a pure design take about the faction, you can go watch the Fian video and you would find a similar take to the one in that video, altough the Fian makes much more sense for the Battanians since they have otherwise no archer unit. If i were to follow your logic than me finding the Fian OP must mean that i have something against White archers? Sorry if you got insulted but you completely missed the point of the videos my friend. I have taken my time to reply just because i found your comment to show that you got really offended and i wanted to clear things up.
Also you can see what the video aims at by reading the description........ i do think i even praise the aesthetic design of the unit at some point so i really don't get how you got offended
@@LyonExodus Thank you for your explanation. Yes, we are sad and angry. Unfortunately, we have a prejudice on such issues. There are many people who think that Turks are Arabs, imply that they ride camels and wear turbans, and describe them as hairy and uncivilized. Since Khuzait Khan's Guard is the most elite unit of the game, people deliberately show ulterior motives when they insist on not associating him with the Turks. We came to Anatolia from Central Asia and people constantly annoy us to make a statement because we do not ride camels. I think it's probably because the Ottoman Empire dealt a lot with Europeans in history. Turks and Mongols are two different nations of the same culture, so there are people who cannot tolerate the fact that Turks have one of the best troops even in a game. I apologize for showing prejudice, I am sensitive about this issue.
The Turkic-Mongolian tradition created this monster and thus they took over the world. We know that the game draws on historical realities, so it is no coincidence that this union is the best. The helmets of the Khan's Guard were inspired by the Kipchaks and they did this job very well.
kıpçak türkü yarram ne sandın

I don't see anything wrong with this *hhrrrrmmmmmsss in aproval
These guys shouldn't have a swingable polearm, period. They are horse archers, give them the best horse archers bow back but take the polearm away and give them a one handed sword.
Accurate to history though. Mongols did shred through a lot of nations unless they were walled, in a jungle or had an army specifically formed to counter them. I like fighting them they are a good challenge for experienced players to fight, and a safe option for those new to the series. So I personally don't have a problem with them being really powerful for those reasons.

The same problem with muskets
Idk what changed since this video, but at least according to Strat's melee testing in the latest branch they hold their own against every high tier infantry (except for the Legionary) even when set to hold fire. They're pretty dang good at softening up the enemy and then joining the shield wall, or you can even use them as the main shield wall while using shock infantry.
How on Earth do I make a unit of just skirmishers? I keep getting Oathsworn in the unit because they both have throwing weapons. This is soooooooooo frustrating.
Man your video sucks
