Nice informative video. Be careful heating roti directly on gas is not good because it is harmful for health. Heating roti on burning wood or coal is good but avoid doing the same on gas.
Hats off to this young girl who cares for her health and her family's and also goes to work. I am a senior citizen and i used to make jowar rotis for many years. I can share some of the tricks to make these millet rotis from my experience. The flour had to be freshly ground and consumed within 2 weeks. Otherwise they taste slightly bitter and also there is less stickiness or binding. After two weeks, use really hot water at first, close cover for few minutes and add ordinary water to knead the dough. I used to mix warm water in the fresh flour and knead it really well each time i make a roti. Then make a ball, flatten it and roll the side of the tikki all along to even out the cuts in the sides. Then apply flour liberally to the flattened ball. Now start patting it by hand and expand the size to a medium size roti. You can liberally use dry flour to help expand. If any cuts appear at the edge, learn to slowly join it as you pat the roti. Don't change the side of the roti as u make iit. Now put the down side of the roti on a medium heated tawa, facing upwards. Immediately sprinkle some water all over the roti and spread it to cover a thin layer all over the roti. if it is too hot to the hand, use a small clean cloth dipped in water to spread the water. Because if this, the roti will not get cracks. When it is slightly dry evenly, flip it on the tawa to other side and heat it. Now put it back on the tawa, down side facing up and make the heat high for 30 seconds or so. Now take it off the tawa and in the same side, transfer to the direct stove till it fluffs up . Hold for few seconds and take it off the stove. We can make rotis the boiling water and steam way if u cannot do it this way. I find the rotis taste better the way i do it. This is the traditional way. Anyways, taste is not as important. Consumption of millets is important. All the best!😊

Sometimes roti taste bitter. So I stopped wasting my time on making millet roti. Could you please guide on which brand millet flor is good? Thanks
