    I did the math some time ago. During his 15 seasons where he was healthy and allowed to play, Kobe averaged 27.8 or 27.9 points. That would have been the 3rd highest ppg of all-time. When you factor in that Kobe played in the dead ball era, he is unequivocally one of the 5 greatest scorers of all-time, and firmly ahead LeBron.

      @sandman1008 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @IENetworkTV It matters when we're talking about who the better scorer is. Kobe was firmly the better scorer than LeBron. LeBron may have sustained a consistently high level of scoring, but when we're asking who the better scorer is, we're asking who is the best at coming onto the court and getting you a bucket, not who avoided injuries and scored more points over an entire career.
      Kobe scoring 27.8ppg during his prime, before injury, during an Era where the pace and scoring is the lowest in NBA history, shows that Kobe was the better scorer.

      @jaydot4956 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @sandman1008 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @jaydot4956 Well, LeBron is a great scorer. There's no doubt about that. But Kobe was better. That's without question. Plus, as I've said multiple times, Kobe's prime was in the dead ball era, the lowest scoring era in NBA history. If we were to adjust his scoring to the pace of the 2010s and especially the 2020s, those stats I mentioned previously would be close to 30ppg, if not more. Context matters.

    The main reason why Kobe's ppg average for his career is lower than LeBron's is because of those 1st two years he was in the league, he wasn't just handed the team like LeBron was. They had Shaq, Eddie Jones, Van Exel and Elden Campbell there back then and Del Harris was a bit of a Kobe hater so he was coming off the bench with little playing time. However in his 2nd year he was voted to start the all-star team despite still coming off the bench. Take out those first two years and their scoring averages for their career are virtually the same. The Lakers also didn't start winning Chips until they got rid of all those guys and made them a 1-2 punch.

Kobe truly deserves to be
    Top 3 or even Top 2 in the NBA tier list. Im a Kobe guy too and i can safely say that MJ is untouchable, but Kobe is my personal GOAT because of how he played the game.

    Lebron did not have a better career than Kobe or Duncan if we only talk basketball. Now if you want to talk about hype and attention surrounding them, then maybe yes. Lebron is not a better scorer than Kobe. I'm not Kobe fan, but he had more skills on the offensive end than Lebron. The pace and scoring were also lower during Kobe's run. I wish people would stop with the Lebron guarding 1-5 BS. Why didn't they put him on Duncan or Joker? Why didn't they put him on Dirk? The 4s and 5s he did play good defense against aren't guys that would be considered Dominant. Playing relatively well against Pau Gasol doesn't mean he can really guard post players. Lebron isn't a scrub, but he is certainly overrated

What's crazy is people overlook those facts. If LA had one against Boston Kobe would have had a 3 peat. I know that's a would no buts about. Lebron is great. Lebron has made a name for himself. Kobe hands down is and was a machine. I got to talk to Kobe and I have to say that he is definitely the greatest basketball player to me. Like you said, you have to literally watch the games. Ive been watching bball since the last Lakers 3 peat. Lebron throughout the years has gotten lucky because of how soft the NBA has gotten while he is aging. Teams aren't playing defense like they used to, scoring averages keep going up. Lets not forget about stat padding. I used to watch lebron steal rebounds from chris bosh. He holds the ball for 20 seconds to get the perfect assist. I've watched kobe pass the ball with his teammates not knowing what to do with it and pass it back to him with 2 seconds left on the shot clock, all the time. Lebrons chase down blocks doesn't make him an elite defender lol. The guy literally rests on defense. Context is key. Watch some old games. Lebron would stay in games late just to stat pad. Meanwhile kobe scores 63 in 3 quarters and sits out the 4th.

Lebron didn't win JS and was getting his ass whooped left to right, until he teamed up with Wade and Bosh. It's the same story in the Olympics. Lebron didn't win JS until Kobe stepped foot in the picture. Lebixxhes Report had that poll between Kobe and Lebron and the votes were neck to neck. The coach should have started age 19 Kobe his second season but would not. Western Conference was the clearly best from 1998-99 to 2010-11 Season (9 > 3 chips, more 50+ win Teams). Nor can you deny that that the 1998-99 to 2010-11 Season was a Dead Ball Era with lower NBA Pace & PPG.

      @Carlos-dr8qq ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A head to head record has to do with how the rest of the team was constructed. Look at them playing 1 on 1 vs each other. For example the game where the Lakers played the Heat in Miami March 2013. Kobe KILLED both Wade and LeBron. Neither one of them could stop Kobe. The Lakers had Mike (No D) Antoni as coach and 40yr old Nash at point guard. The Lakers lost that game, but Kobe was BALLIN!! At the end of the game Wade ran up to Kobe to give him major props because Kobe was killing Wade and Lebron. The Heat put like 4 different guys on Kobe that game, but no one could stop him. That's just one example of many. LeBron's advantage is a Tank of a body. Kobe's advantage is skill and mindset. LeBron is the worst at making clutch free throws in games. That's why the Lakers lost Gm1 of the 2023 West Finals. LeBron for his level should not be a choke at the free throw line in clutch moments. I'm a Lakers fan. I've never seen Magic, Kobe, Jordan miss free throws consistently like LeBron. LBJ is not as mentally strong as Kobe. LBJ has no post game. He has a big body and does not dominate in the post. Why, he's not as skilled as Kobe. Period. I hope LBJ won't choke at the free throw line again in next years playoffs.

      Game winners are irrelevant if you don't need a game winner. Besides LBJ is scared to take most game winning shots. LBJ admitted that he did not have a killer instinct. He wasn't born with it. It shows in games like Gm 1 of the 2023 West Finals. I was thinking that LBJ threw that game on purpose. Gm 2 missing a breakaway dunk, and a reverse layup in crunch time. There's a mentality that LBJ is lacking compared to Kobe. In the playoffs Kobe didn't choke at the free throw line, and did not miss breakaway dunks etc. PERIOD.

Lebron is better at covering the passing lanes, and Lebron is better at protecting the rim as well, which Kobe does not do. I've seen Kobe chase down a block maybe a hand ful of times. And I've NEVER seen Kobe block aa dunk from the front, he got out of the way every time.

    Finally, someone gets it, stats don't tell the WHOLE story. This is my concern with history, people will resort to stats to create false narratives. The eye test and the "little things" are key. I am neither a Kobe Bryant nor a LeBron fan but rather a Lakers fan. To me Kobe has my respect though, his mentality, tenacity and work ethic was unmatched. Certain players know that stats are key to trying to solidify their legacy (brand), so they stat pad their games and lose many of them to accomplish this selfish task. Two way players will always be better than those one sided offensive players in my book.

    Whenever it comes to load management, you always say the best ability is availability. However, you’re defending Kobe’s averages by excusing his lack of availability and health in the later stages of his career. You act like LeBron never having an injury is something we should hold against him. Yes, Kobe was a more dynamic scorer than LeBron because he was far better at 3s, midrange, FTs, and overall took more difficult shots. However, something has to be said for LeBron scoring more on average for a longer period. At the end of the day, it matters who puts up more points with better efficiency, and LeBron does both better than Kobe. He even has higher 3PT % and FG %, and has the most points in NBA history. You’re dismissing this argument far too easily

    For y’all keep mentioning shaq y’all do realize that shaq was in the league 4 years prior to Kobe getting drafted you also realize that when shaq went to the lakers Kobe was on the bench the first 2 seasons, shaq had 6 or 7 seasons of being the main guy and never won a ring . Shaq didn’t win a ring until Kobe entered the starting lineup in year 3. Shaq needed Kobe to win, Kobe didn’t need shaq. Kobe won and went to more finals without shaq than shaq did without Kobe. Also Kobe winning with gasol is equivalent to lebron winning with just bosh, K love, without kyrie or Wade on the team Kobe overall has won with less talent on his team and has faced overall tougher competition. Lebron made it to 9 finals in the east because the east was weak that’s why when he got to the finals and played the western conference team it was a different story 3-6

I understand everyone in this atmosphere need to play good/bad, ying/yang towards certain athletes to keep certain people listening. I rarely heard you speak on any other players in nba. It's getting redundant for you to keep LeBron relevant in his 20th season and continues to be a top 10 player. I haven't heard one positive word about LeBron unless it's followed up by sarcasm with a slight shot at LBJ. Are you doing now? Yes. Their are younger players who you can mention as well. Over the past 20 years I am willing to bet LeBron name has been everyday of the news media. Not even Jordan didn't receive this much criticism,not until now after MJ retired, but dam man who will be you all next target
