    Never actually realised you had to do this with a BOV, thank you for this video and good thing I watched it because I just ordered a GFB BOV for my 2010 Liberty GT

    Great info! I just got a 2018 sti and looking forward to doing the invidia R400 exhaust and this GFB next month. Videos are super helpful. You guys should make a video on how to clean one of these bad boys. It would be lit! 💨

      Invidia makes a pretty nice exhaust package, we're currently running their catless, divorced downpipe and their intermediate pipe. From there I made everything else custom with our very own rear bumper side exit exhaust.
      We may work on the cleaning video, thank you for that suggestion!!! Definitely time to clean our so we'll get working on that video ;)

    Just watched the video....Great job! Was wondering what drive mode you would recommend being in while fine tuning it? I, S or S#?

    • @TheFreedomMaker
      @TheFreedomMaker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely suggest using S# for all testing, as this will give you the adjustment at the cars limits.

    What happens if you turn the screw to far in? Any detriment to the tune/boost/sound etc?

    Never seen the inside of an sti.. nicely colored telemetry design. Is that stock that comes with vehicle including the boost monitoring? Wish my car had the boost monitoring.. hyundai's with turbos dont (maybe the N veloster..not sure)

    • @TheFreedomMaker
      @TheFreedomMaker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The stock STI has boost monitoring with a memory of the peak. We added additional gauges for tuning and accuracy. Typically the stock gauge is very close to our aftermarket.

      @@TheFreedomMaker thanks good to know. I have a quick question tho, I have my screw 1 1/2 turns tight. It doesn't open at 2k, opens about quarter inch at 3k and opens half way at 4k rpm. When it opens it slams shut immediately, so its closed long before idle.
      Do i need to go tighter or softer? Because the gfb tech in his video says it should open only about 3mm.

      Did your issues start after installation/adjustment of the BOV, or is this a new issue after having it on the car for quite a while?

    • @TheFreedomMaker
      @TheFreedomMaker  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This video is just for a Go Fast Bits dual port BOV. I’m not familiar with the Cobb but is it just a Bpv, a dual port, or just external blow off?

    WHY DO WE NEED TO TAKE OFF THE FACTORY GASKET?

    • @TheFreedomMaker
      @TheFreedomMaker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reusing the gasket is possible. You just have to be careful not to damage it. We had to replace ours as it was damaged and caused leaking. When we took the car for pro-tune, the tune shop tried cranking the bolts to compensate for a small leak and almost stripped the threads going into the aluminum intercooler. Better off just to order a new gasket than chance a problem down the road.

      Personally, the only sticker I like is a number with tire marks across it. I grew up racing dirt and stickers didn't mean anything unless they were sponsors so I kept my design simple. In comparison, the car owner is younger and likes to compensate innocence of driving with stickers. lol Thanks for watching at least
