If you leave it slightly open and then tighten the allen screw to only slightly release at a higher rpm. You should be running good and still get the flutter sound. There is a TH-cam video on how to properly adjust it.
you could also use a mid term setting. like 75% recirculating and 25% atmosphere. + a more tight spring. you would have just a little tssh that's not too much and doesn't affect your engine working.
Tune isn’t necessarily required, but it’s always recommended. If your car is having issues, I’d get it inspected first prior to installing any aftermarket parts. Hope this helps!
Reaction is great for sure. Glad you got that all sorted. Mini pops pretty damn loud but only in sport mode with the tune fortunately. I’d make the neighbors mad for sure.
I have a 06 Legacy GT, I have the exact same bov and it’s been on since I got it, you think I should keep it on recirculating? I didn’t know I could change it and it has never been on recirculating, I’ve been trying it for a few hours now
So I have a 2018 wrx is pretty much stock besides the exhaust and and a short shifter that is after market no cobb yet, can I still install the blow off valve without have any problems in the future?
For WRX, I personally would stay away from blow off valves. I’ve read that you can install bypass valves (BPV) without any problems but I’ve also read that it provides little to no benefits. I could be wrong though. In my opinion, only replace the stock BPV if it’s cracked or if you’re pushing a lot of power.
@@Issacko2431 but if you have the GFB BOV like mine then you can adjust it (turn the ring to open it) to where it vents to atmosphere. It’s not recommended but it gets the pops.
to much atmosphere vent causing it to run rich hense the pops (unburnt fuel getting by and igniting) adjust the BOV to more vent to the intake and youll be fine
Heck yeah it's loud and I'm sure the video is not showing exactly how loud. I like that right side corner pick of your car throughout the video! That's really cool bro! I'm going to have to figure that out😁

Just need to adjust the blow off valve pre load setting to (+) two to three turns, this will eliminate the poping noise.
Prob need to go into it and change the springs
Those are some loud pops. The blow off sounded really cool. Looking forward to seeing the process of getting everything dialed in.
Thanks man! Got a few more things to straighten out but she’s running fine.
Run it 50/50 so you still get sounds and the car is still running good 👍🏼
Thanks man!
I would think you would need to tighten the spring down a bit
Tune require in this ? I have been looking for a lot of video about this gfb , just worry my car has issue . Please advice

Thanks man! I bet the Mini sounds good!
Gotta tighten that spring up a bit. Things blowing off at super low rpm

The car liked it when it was on full recirculating. It idled and drove better. I would keep it at recirculating if it makes the car happy.
@@ronfromportland perfect, not as loud but it still sounds great, and yeah, if the cars happy I am too!
How do you use that retainer clip that goes onto the blow off valve how do you put it back on the hose pipe
Push the tabs in with pliers to open it up, then slide it on the BOV.
@@ronfromportland oh cool what setting would you get the most pshhhh noises out of hard or soft?
Adjust pre load so it will shut of quickly the spring tension is way to soft

@@ronfromportlandthe gfb blowoff is a bpv, you adjust the atmosphere/recirculation hence the rotating sleeve
Can i add this valve to my stock gt?
You typically don’t need a tune for it but be mindful that it may throw off your AF trims if it’s not set to 100% recirculating.
Hey man how did you tune thos pops??
I didn’t tune it at all haha. The pops were from the BOV being opened up all the way which caused the loud pops lol.
@@ronfromportland dammm mine doesn’t pop mine just makes a woooshh sound is there any tips to make it pop?
@@Issacko2431 it’s probably better that it doesn’t pop. Popping excessively most likely means that it’s running rich.

Nope, it’s not. It has an aftermarket catback and down pipe

Yup, got it all figured out! The pops did sound cool though, I admit 😂

@@scottsledzianowski5271 I actually sold it and I’m back on the stock BPV. I had it set to all the way closed though.
