Hey, thanks for joining. My name is Russell, but I go by RL Kramer. This is my book I'm holding in my hand. Hocus focus coming of age with A.D.D. and it's medicine's. It's my story of being diagnosed, medicated and departing from ADHD medications. It's a great book. I'm sharing with you an interview I did with an ADHD coach.
00:00:18:10 - 00:00:44:15
Speaker 1
I found him on Tick Tock and I sent a cold email and then he went into it cold too. And I give him a lot of credit for that. And we discussed ADHD. What are ADHD coaches? And my favorite topic, the medications. So this is a discussion with a really cool guy who is an ADHD coach who was really kind to share his time with me and I appreciated it so much.
00:00:44:15 - 00:01:03:16
Speaker 1
I will just let the interview begin. I will just say this was filmed almost 120 days ago. I don't need to go into the specifics of how busy I've been and what's been going on, but I'll just say that that answers the questions. But I finally did it. I finally published it. Ryan, thank you for your patience. Enjoy the podcast.

All right, Ryan, So can you tell me a little about who you are, what you do?
00:01:35:13 - 00:01:51:13
Speaker 3
Yeah, of course, Scott. So my name is Ryan Maier. I'm a certified ADHD coach, and I help other people like me who have ADHD to navigate through the storms in life that are caused by our brain wiring.
00:01:51:15 - 00:01:57:16
Speaker 2
Well, I'm just. Okay, I have more questions. But just briefly, what is the certification involved?
look forward to having my hands on the Hocus Focus
Thank you!! I hope it’s a good read for you
Have you seen Medicating Normal?
This was great. Love your interviews. Having a bad withdrawal day so I needed this. I think the withdrawal can be worse if you start and stop perhaps. Because first time i went off was because i got pregnant. Then after a year went back on 18mg concerta. On for 2 years. And I was having blurry vision, anxiety, pms. So my gut said its the medication. So i cold turkey off because i didn't know. Acute withdrawal after 5 months caused me to relapse. I was so close to probably feeling better but didnt have enough knowledge of what was happening.
Im on 7 months off. I took it fewer years than you. But im not supposed to compare. Im ready to work again but im still in withdrawal. One lady told me a story of a 3 year old on ritialn till age 17 and his brain is completely gone. He lives in a group home. Dont know his whole story though.
3 kids under age of six...he wobt be coming off anytime soon. And if he does you're the first person he's calling for support.
If its too Good to be True it probably is.
