    Just bought my 2022 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack 392 Hemi Shaker 6 Speed Manual Transmission vehicle , Black on Black . I’ve been driving stick shift vehicles all my life and absolutely love it . Another positive point is these young kids have no clue how to drive a manual shift there for they can’t borrow it lol . My new car is for Sunday drives , not daily use . When I test drove it 2 weeks ago it took me back to my teenage days of driving my 1967 Chevelle big block 4 speed car . I was hooked on the new Challenger the first mile , especially the sound and shifting the gears and downshifting noise . Zoom Zoom Zoom

    During the "gas crisis" my Dad bought a 78 Datsun B210 Wagon 5 speed. He said he hated it and would never get a manual again.... Well, it was a Datsun 4 cyl, and he was used to large cars like the Bonneville, so in reality I think he just didn't like being crammed into a tin can with zero power. Meanwhile, my Mom was driving a 74 Catalina 2 door with a 400 and she never complained 😉😉. I have never been a Mopar guy but I had a Durango with the small V8 and enjoyed it. I am really leaning towards getting a Challenger as a second, "fun" car.

    Great content on a badass Street Muscle Car! With my Scat I went with the 392 with the ZF 8 speed, it's over a second faster ET, and easier to deal with in heavy traffic every day. I used to have the Tremec on my RT Shaker.

    When people bad mouth Dodge Challengers, I scratch my head and wonder what car they actually drove. I hear people talk about how the interior isn't nice and the seats are uncomfortable. In my opinion, the seats are the most comfortable car seats I've ever sat in. Everybody who rides in my car talk about how they love the interior and how good the seats feel. I guess people expect a workout when working the clutch pedal in a car like this, but it is actually pretty light. After getting used to driving a stick shift car again, I don't even think about it. I thought a heated steering wheel was one of the dumbest things I ever heard of. i would not have ordered a car with it, but since it comes with the Scat pack-T/A package, I got it. Now, I hate to drive cars without a heated steering wheel.
    My employer provides me a car to drive, so I don't have to drive my own. Even though it costs me nothing to drive, driving that 2020 Malibu (worst new car I've ever driven) almost makes me want to park it.

    I took delivery of mine in July and it looks just like yours, all white except for black spoiler and gas filler door. I also have a manual and feel the same way you do about what it's like as a daily driver with this one caveat, since I have diabetic nephropathy in my feet the problem I have with the throttle is not getting enough power and stalling sometimes, but I'm getting better. While this car is powerful it is also too heavy to be as fast as it should be for the power, but it makes up for it by being fundamentally fun to drive. If you have ever driven a classic muscle car, especially back in the day when they were new and not classic like I have, then this thing takes fun to a whole new level. This is my Vanishing Point car, I waited 50 years to get it, and I am having an absolute blast driving it, even in slow town traffic. I do wish I had it out where you live as I would like some lonely open road to open this thing up on. Love the channel, and your car. I know it sounds cliche but there is just something about a Mopar that is truly special. I think it's that they are just different enough to not be part of the pack (no pun), or make their own pack.

    I have a '23 Challenger Scat Pack Shaker edition with 6spd. The difference between "the car driving you" with an automatic and you interacting with and driving the car is huge. If you're buying a car to actually drive, get the manual.
    I just drove it from Clearwater to Atlanta (which is a constant, gradual uphill pull) and i averaged 24.2 mpg and running around the back roads and city put here in a semi-rural area is about 20 mpg. My '22 got just slightly less.
    I also used to live in Utah (Ogden area) and RWD in the snow is a challenge but the solution is to *turn around* and back out of parking lots and sticky spots! 😊
    I had a '74 Road Runner with a pro-stock 340 in it and I got around fine, watching others be stuck while I backed out of trouble. 😊
    (And it's "RPM," revolutions per minute, not RPMs, revs per "minutes." 😊 😆
    Nice car.

    She's large, she's bulky - Back end is short and easy to manage, front end is difficult as Austin mentioned, Yet easy to to get used too.
    Most importantly, The scat pack packs a punch. There are not many that can keep up. Flipping the backend is super simple and a dime turn is instinct - front end won't move.
    Dropping to 4th or even 3rd on the freeway creates a power band that is absolutely insane. Lower end torque for days. Performance pages show all time highs for all track specs including G's. As Austin mentioned driving in the dead of winter on icy roads is a challenge, however it's not impossible - Even with the 11 inch treads that come stock with the wide-body.
    Important note: Scat Pack Challenger circa 2019 and greater are considered SRT models. They do absolutely include the SRT functions and in dash controls including suspension and traction mods. Launch control and "Burnt-out" (Line-Lock) are covered by factory warranty (Note, your tires are not are included).

    Found and bought my new!! '22 manual scatty shaker Challenger three months ago, straight off the showroom floor of an obscure Appalachian Mountain town dealership. While no stranger to either V8s or stick shifts, this is my very first experience with a muscle car and I am totally crushing on this tank of a baby !
    Tho I've only managed to put about 800 miles on it, my mostly in-town and frustratingly crowded interstate experiences pretty much echo every point you made: the low-end, though totally controllable power amazes me (like when you're first in line at the stoplight, it's a wittle hard to control the urge to squeak the tires on take-off😂);
    And Bro, i feel ya on killing the engine...done it a couple times myself...sooo embarrassing 🥵;
    The suspension feels a bit stiff for something that's attempting to split the difference between being a sports & luxury car, but what the heck! I'm used to an older Sequoia, which feels like riding on a hay wagon in comparison.
    I also agree that for interstate driving it's usually 5th or, with luck, 6th gear...living in the foothills of the mountains makes determining which & where a bit more of a challenge ... I was absolutely thrilled the one time the computer showed i was getting over 13 mpg!
    And YES! Absolutely in tune with your sentiment about the probable extinction of manual trannies. I am beyond happy and blessed for the opportunity to not only sit behind the wheel of, but actually own such an amazing reminder of American nostalgia and engineering ingenuity.
    When i die I might just ask to be buried in this car!

Also, it is hard to know where the front splitter is. And it does move side to side easily if you push it too hard through the turns.😂 It is a great highway car and that 6th gear is very tall.

    I understand why people hate driving a manual in city traffic. So daily driving a manual should be for enthusiasts ONLY. I enjoy driving a manual ('02 911 turbo 6spd and '18 RT Plus Shaker 4 piston Brembo 6spd) but I can't recommend it in big city traffic.
    If fuel economy is of any concern, a person should consider a Corolla or Civic. Challengers are big comfortable cruisers and remind me of a BMW 8 series, just better looking.

    i have not found a video of what it's like driving a scat pack, as a daily, in a city like LA or NYC with rush hour as being part of your daily life. I drive 40miles a day and get stuck in traffic. I work weekends as well so 2 days out of the week I get to enjoy the road. I'd like to own a scat pack, but it seems I have no use for all that power so I'm opting for an RT. If anyone has a scat pack and lives in congested areas please let me know if it's still worth it.

      Right now! There's a bunch of leftover brand spanking new 2020 scatpacks with options sitting on lots for $37k. $10k+ under msrp advertised. The manufacturer will give more incentives to help the dealership clear out their old stock. And, you have a better position to negotiate from being that it's already a year old. But, reality is, we don't care, 2021's are no different than 2020's. You're not missing out on anything.
      I bought my 2018 in spring of 2019. It's trade in value is only $1k less than what I paid for it almost 2 years ago.
      I used cargurus when I was shopping. Just beware of some dealerships advertising prices with rebates that you won't qualify for. I called ahead to confirm the actual price before making the 78 mile journey to purchase my torred T/A.

    Just so you know RPM is singular. Revolutions per minute. You kept saying RPMS. The Corvette Z06 2010 model 427 (7 litres) allowed me to start in 4th gear. In fact the only annoying thing about it was that in city driving in first gear if you didn't take it above 30 mph it would signal you and require you to put it in 4th gear. Pretty much any car on this planet would stall driving in 3rd gear at 20 mph yet alone 4th like my Z06. At 75 mph in 6th the rpm stood at 1230, so basically taking a nap :)
