  • In this video I show you the differences between the Challenger R/T and the Scat Pack. The difference in horsepower between the RT and scatpack is a boost of 100hp, but does it make a difference?

    Hey bud just letting you know line lock only engages the front brakes to allow you to do a good burn out. Its a big thing in drag racing. It has nothing to do with suspension or driving in a straight line or whatever else you said. 👍🏼

    I’m a 6’0, 280lb guy, I drive a 2021 RT charger and boy lemme tell you if you floor it, if you actually floor it, that RT will pull you backwards and force to swallow your saliva back in… RT has a lot of torque for the amount of horsepower it has, making it quite the snappy experience. It’s just the perfect balance of power, speed and torque for the streets, and you’d still be faster than 75% of the cars out there. So, if you want a daily driver that can get you past the yellow light from 60ft away in a blink and still have time to look back and realize the light is still yellow and witness it turn red while you’re across on the other side already, it’s a nice feeling. The RT is the perfect car for the job!

      I recently acquired a 2016 hellcat to be a friend for my 2019 scat pack🎉to be honest I’m not in love with the hellcat, but it was a steal with 16,000
      It does need new tires though, so it’ll be more fun with real tires, unfortunately it’s in for minor tweak on tranny. It’s been there for over a month, I just drove up there to make sure it was actually there, and INSIDE! We all know how easy it is to steal these cars. IF you don't race, the R/T is the way to go. It has the classic muscle car feel along with very similar numbers (0-60 and 1/4 ) compared to the first gen 440/426 engines. PLENTY of power. ALL on mid-grade fuel.

    I know this is generational and I'm old (56), but I so much prefer the looks of the R/T over the Scat Pack (all that "blacked out" stuff just looks ugly to my eye). I wish they'd have offered the R/T with the option of the 6.4L.
    One thing that's often missed in these reviews is that the Challenger is a tall person's muscle car. I'm 6' 5" (and long torso) and I don't fit comfortably in either the Mustang or the Camaro (and certainly not in the Corvette or other "sports" cars). The Challenger was literally my only V8 manual-6spd 2-door option (and only if it does NOT have a sunroof...sunroofs subtract at least 2 inches of head room).

      Nikita Samsonov what car were you coming from? I’m in the market for an 11-14 challenger RT or 11-14 mustang v6, but I do like the mustang interior more, which would you say is the better buy? Especially for longevity until I buy a big bad V8? Is the R/T worth over the 3.7? I’m also used to Mustang size since I’m coming from the 4.0

    • @nikitasamsonov2909
      @nikitasamsonov2909 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      QUEEZY for longevity I’d say go with the mustang v6 because if anything happens it’s cheaper to fix. If you’re gunning for a v8 then settle for a new one, just my opinion.

    • @nikitasamsonov2909
      @nikitasamsonov2909 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      QUEEZY even on the interior of the new challengers it’s not that good compared to stangs but I’m copping a challenger because first of all the price is almost similar to a brand new 5.0 and in a scat you’re getting a 6.4 , much better sounding even on stock, more room inside, stangs are tiny inside in my opinion , and overall a challenger looks more aggressive than a stang

    • @Quintolloo
      @Quintolloo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @Quintolloo
      @Quintolloo 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nikita Samsonov yeah that’s what kinda leaves me ina tough spot hahaha newer scats are out out of my range and even if I had the dough I know I could get a new 5.0 for a little less and used less gas, easier to drive etc. as MUCH as I love to challengers, the Mustangs 11-14 or 18-20 always seem to be the better buy 😂

    I'm guessing the eco mode on the Scat Pack just holds it in 4-cyl mode for a lot longer. IOW, you're driving a 3.2L 4-cylinder Challenger most of the time in that mode...until you really step on it.

    • @rideintothesun8106
      @rideintothesun8106 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    • @marshall0792
      @marshall0792 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Eco mode lowers the throttle response, the transmission starts in 2nd gear, the exhaust valves stay shut, and yes the engine will switch to 4 cylinder mode. It keeps you from driving like a Jerk. But all you have to do is push the gas a little bit harder and the car will go back to normal.

    I've had a 2022 R/T for about 3 months now and I love it. That being said, I kind of wish I had ordered a Scat. One thing I'd point out is that a few difference you mentioned are merely a matter of options. The shiny pedals should come with either car in the trunk, to be installed by the owner. Also, the rims are a matter of options. The silver rims tell me the R/T is not heavily optioned. They are both sweet cars no matter what!

    For the first 100 miles
    • Depress the accelerator pedal slowly and not more than halfway to avoid rapid
    acceleration.
    • Avoid aggressive braking.
    • Drive with the engine speed less than 3,500RPM.
    • Maintain vehicle speed below 55mph(88km/h) and observe local speed limits.

    You're confused about Line Lock. The ONLY thing it does is lock the front brakes only when it is on, so that it is easier and quicker to smoke the rear tires. That's ALL it does. It did come from drag racing but has NOTHING to do with keeping the vehicke straight. That's the driver, stability control, and traction control that helps with this, not Line Lock. You may want to read the owner's manual online before informing people incorrectly, as i see that other people have called you on it. No big deal. Just familiarize yourself a little more.

      In my opinion, I have test driven ( somewhat aggressively) a new 2019 Scat Challenger and was impressed. But based on ALL the you tube vids, the sane ( smart) vehicle to buy ( for me) is the RT. Great looks and V8 sound. Comfortable ( smoother) ride, cheaper to buy, insure, and maintain. Good power and acceleration especially if you are going from a V6, front wheel drive sedan with a mere 205 hp and 230 ft lbs of torque. I'm retired and on a fixed income ( but I'm no old codger!). I still ride a mid-low 10 second sportbike. Going from a mid-high 15 second 1/4 mile time sedan , to a car capable of mid to high 13 seconds is a SUBSTANTIAL improvement! Plus, recent prices on tires have really increased.
