Chris Webber was one of the greatest, yet most overlooked power forwards of all time.
In his prime, he was just as good as any superstar in the NBA.
Unfortunately, his NBA career did not end as well as he hoped.
In 2002 the Sacramento Kings had one of the most well balanced teams of all time.
Led by Chris Webber, Peja Stojakovic, Mike Bibby, Vlade Divac and Doug Christie the Kings had the best record in the entire league.
If not for some questionable officiating in the 2002 Western Conference Finals against the Lakers the Kings may have won their first NBA championship.
Also had Bobby Jackson, the 6th man of the year when he was with them

That’s an interesting conclusion to draw for a guy that choked in crunch time and called a timeout when the team had zero and cost his team a NCAA championship
And C-Webb woulda probably been one of the top 75 players ever!
@@jontee194that’s an interesting conclusion to dismiss a man’s entire professional career and the point being made because of a mistake he made in college.
Chris Webber nowadays in this Adam Silver basketball would average 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists. He was a player with a lot of class and passing ability. He deserves to be remembered as one of the greats in his position.
Doubtful. He never liked playing center which is the position he'd have to play in todays game.
@@lastman4853 According to Basketball Reference, he played 100% of the time as a center for 2 years, scoring over 20 points, grabbing more than 10 rebounds, making 2 blocks, and dishing out 4 assists... One of those years was his rookie year. Throughout his entire career, he played 30% of the time as a center and 70% as a power forward. Of course, he was capable of playing as a center... one must know what they're talking about before writing nonsense on the internet.
@@JohnDoeTroll Why don't you learn to comprehend english? I never said he wasn't capable of playing center. He didn't LIKE playing center which is why he demanded to be traded from the warriors.
@@lastman4853 nah
@@lastman4853what if he played with a true big tho? CW playing with Joker would be comical. Both can pick to apart from the high post, and stretch the floor while also killing you in the paint.
C Webb was so much fun to watch.
Webber is my favorite player of all time ✌🏾
I like that!!!
I loved Chris Webber. When he dunk he wanted to kill the rim. He was robbed of the MVP.
and the Kings were robbed the finals entry, also
MVP which year and against who ? Not better than Shaq or Duncan those early 2000's.
@@yoe91he should've won one just for turning Sacramento around. The Kings had their greatest success with Webb.
CWebb was a true legendary baller man. Enjoyed watching him him play
C-WEBB my favorite basketball player definitely underrated to me. This dude was a beast!!!
I would like to salute Chris Webber for putting his pride/ego to the side and coming to play for the Sacramento Kings. Those was good years in my 20s living here in Sacramento when Chris Webber, Jason Williams, Mike Bibby, Bobby Jackson, Doug Christie and I can keep going on with the list of outstanding players on that roster at the time, we should have been able to have the privilege to play for the championship ring , but because of big city little city they didn’t want to see my Sacramento Kings win the championship ring that year because we would have whooped the nets easily, but I guess the power at B wanted the bigger city of California to have the spotlight.
He's my personal favorite PF
C Webb still one of my favorite players ever
I was such a fan of Webb that I would study him and began mimicking his playing style in my early teens... he literally taught me the game of basketball
Weber was ahead of his time, if he was in today's NBA he'd be a top 5 player
I thought about this too. And I agree.
He seemed a lil too small to rebound the basketball like his contemporaries.
lol stop dreaming bruh no he wouldn’t
He Def would b top 5 easy.
C Webb my favorite big man all time
That's why i love this channel, because Sean represents/shows love to all who deserve it.
so true, showcases some of the underrated players who were on the cusp of being legendary but because of their teams or injuries, they were top dogs for only a few years
Man, Webb was a beast. When he played for Sactown, that was our best squad to date! He was versatile as fuck and his passing was on Majic level, EASY! That man had a high basketball-IQ, no question!
One of my favorite players!💪🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
C-Webb! One of my favorite players of the '90s when I was growing up! And the 2002 semis against the Lakers? Epic!
Sooooooo much fun to watch. So elegant moves, especially at his height. And the dunk on Sir Charles - maaaaaan! 🤩
C Web had best hands of any big man EVER!
His "paws" had like fly paper on them! You throw the heater at him, he caught it in stride and flew over you fr a slam!!!
"When you sat down furniture was movin" Hahahahahaha Ernie is wild!
One of my fav' player ever ♥️
Webber would destroy guys like Sengun and Adebayo today, he could probably make Jokic life very hard too
no indication he'd be efficient vs Jokic. He wasn't the best defender despite a few blocks and was an adrenaline/athletic player whereas Jokic is all brain. Not a good match for Web.
He'd be worse in todays game because he doesn't like playing center. That's why he demanded to be traded from the warriors.
@@yoe91That’s the dumbest opinion I’ve heard in a while. He’d get his and Joker would get his. It’d be a showdown.
Wouldn't be close. Joker would destroy cwebb
Yea he couldn’t guard Webber but joker can’t guard really any one
I was a junior in high school in northern Michigan when Webber was a senior at Detroit Country Day.
I kept hearing news about this kid in Detroit, minus social media.
I turned on the TV one spring Saturday morning (3 channels with outdoor antenna)
There it was Chris Webber playing in the Palace for MHSAA Basketball Finals.
I had never heard of these guys because we didn’t have media outlets like we do today.
And during that game he made his announcement to attend UofM.
Honestly his all around game was a favorite of mine.
One of my faves coming up in the 90s. Salute to CWebb. Definitely had that dog in him.
He was the best passing PF in his generation. The Sacramento Kings when he was there was one of the most entertaining teams to watch. High octane basketball
Als Kings-Fan seit 1998 bedanke ich mich mal ganz herzlich! 🙂
As a Kings fan since 1998 I say THANK YOU VERY MUCH! 🙂
C Webb does not get the respect he deserves. He is an ALL Time Great. Should be talked about as a top 75 all time player. He had that knee injury and it cut his career a little short, but man was he a beast. One of his favorite players was Magic and you can see it in his game. He has a lot of Magic in his style and ability to pass and lead a break. If Cwebb played today he would be a center and I'm sure worked on the outside game a little more, but either way he would be DOMINANT as a center today. MVP caliber and up there with Joker and Embid easily.
My favorite player as a teenager. The shoulder injury he suffered with the bullets/wizards and then the micro fracture knee injury with the Kings is the only reason he isn't talked about with KG, Duncan, and Dirk. If sheed didn't get the ring with the pistons then he would be forgotten on those lists like C Webb
With the exception of Duncan, I can’t definitively say any of the power forwards of that era were better than CWebb. He got robbed of some of his prime years, but he was a top 5 player in the league for a bit and had the Kings in title contention. A couple bounces go their way, and they would’ve kept the Lakers from being a dynasty. Undeniable talent and one of the best passing bigs ever
Sacramento was good enough to win it all.......unlucky he never got a title with that team....he was good and that team was pretty awesome.
I thought he was a taller version of magic in a power forward body
Sometimes he was for sure. Especially early C.Webb
yes, except not nearly as good.
Point guard genes
He was one inch taller.
@@yoe91 I think skill wise, he wasn't far off. Magic could impact the game more because he was a PG
I really enjoyed this Sean. I'm really feeling this content. Especially since I have so many memories watching the basketball from the time you feature on your channel.
A true legend
Lifelong Lakers fan but that 01’-02’ Kings team with Chris Webber is my all time favorite team.
I love this show, so positive
First of all - he's so decent human being and lovely as person.
Yeah so decent he took $ at M and tarnished a grt Us rep! I'm a 2nd gen M grad snd loved his game but-- He had a chip on his shlder in H.Schl regarding getting paid but unlike Juwan, took $ he felt he was due - screw who he hurt!!
My all-time favorite power forward
Mr Webber was such a nice young man when he came to Sacramento, sort of a shocker when he did. Parents had season tickets for the greatest show on court, it was just fantastic. All those guys were great, they deserved to go to the finals that year. C Webb was a beast, so quick, still put the power in power forward
Saw some crazy stuff at Arco Arena. Isaiah JR Rider made a shot from half court, going out of bounds, back to the basket
Telegenic and seemed like an intelligent guy
This shot th-cam.com/video/h7MFaPOfGeU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=a_ipvVJDO57Ql7Cy
He was a HOG !!!!!!!
Yesssss!!!!! Yes! Yaaaaassss!
He was the reason I was a kings fan
I played against C. Webb all through middle school, high school, AAU, College. I didn't go pro lol. Facts 👌🏿
C Webb held it down in a tough era and won on every team that he was on
Love C-Webb Go Blue
Met Chris, and Antoine Carr one night at a restaurant in Old Sacramento......turns out Chris owned the place......both were really nice, funny dudes....
Great representation of us Class of 91 lol
Stellar video as usual! I remember C Webb saying he wanted to grab the board and run the break like PFs like Barkley and others. He had superior passing ability as a big and had one of the most terrifying dunk mean mugs. Legend.
C Webb looked like he was ready to tear up when Barkley was saying that stuff about em 😂 he love the game I respect it .
Webber is definitely one of my favorite forwards of the 90s-00s.
Him, Garnett, & Larry Johnson were exciting to watch….
"When you say down there were furniture moving!" Ernie
😂😂😂😂
My Fave Player in Sac. Loved him!
2nd favorite NBA player of all times
Sheed must be talking about his 1st year or 2 not having a jump shot bc he DEFINITELY had a jumper. Mid range was Hella consistent. That's 1 of the many things I remember bout his game.
Yeah, he wasn't making sense on that one.
All you need to know is that cwebb played sf when he was at Washington! Gotta have skills to do that
Hey Sean, thanks for this video, CWebb was so creative and fun to watch specially with those memorable Kings. How about a video of Pau Gasol? He was the first spanish AllStar and NBA winner, he changed the notion of spanish basketball all by himself. The course of his career (from being called "gasoft" to defend Dwight 1v1 in the Finals) and his relationship with Kobe are very interesting. And he speaks on your intro 😊
cheers from Spain, man!
i love this old school channel
That's crazy how that bottom tooth fits perfectly in the top row gap....
One of my all time favorite players. Chris was one of the most talented 4’s to ever play the game. Could do it all. Score, board and pass. I would take him and Derrick Coleman over most PF’s as far as overall talent.
Cwebb was my first favorite player when I fell in love with the game.
Who else remembers watching the game C Web poster Charles Barkley!🤔....🤣🤣🤣
I'm a Buckeye fan living in Columbia Ohio. Let me tell y'all, C-Webb and Jalen Rose had is all secretly wanting to be like them. They were so cool that the enemy even rooted for them
ron harper next please
Cwebb my favorite player of all time
My favorite jersey I have is a Washington Bullets Webber throwback I got from my partner for my birthday. It's embarrassing how many people ask who he was that are old enough to know better 🤦🏽♂️
I always thought C-Web was a great one! The Fab 5 got me into March Madness 😁
Chris Webber had point guard genes
Injuries/surgeries really derail a lot of good and potentially great players in the 90s.. especially Chris Webber we would’ve been up higher on everyone list as one ring atleast
He should have stayed at Golden State.
C Dub would kill in today's era
A bad maan. Powerful , maybe the best hands in history . You couldn’t throw it near him and he not get it. He had clamps for hands and they were huge. Great wing span and he could get off the ground before he hurt his knee.
As a T-wolves fan, seeing Webber and the Kings vs my Wolves in Garnett's MVP year was fabulous, think 2 or 3 games in a row went to overtime they were tense! That Kings team is so criminally underrated, which is one of the reasons it was so much fun to get Adelman as a coach in Minnesota - seeing those same patterns on the other side of the ball - odd but very nice.
That series would’ve been better had it not been post knee injury Webber
Pre-microfracture C-Webb was a bad man.
Webber would give the Joker a run for his MVP in the current league
As a Wizards fan I can't believe we kept Juwan it pisses me off
my favorite player! CWebb4
Hold up they asked C Webb about playing today and I couldn't help but think of him on GSW team with Steph and Dray, and Klay Wow!
What could have been.... He should be an NBA Champion.
The power forward position is hard to rank. How much do you put in championships, overall impact on both ends. Points, rebounds, blocks.
Duncan, Malone, Barkley, Green, Kg, Dirk, Webb, Worthy, McKale, Pettit, Hayes, Wallace.
Chris played the point forward position but played it in the paint...
Yeah it's true, each decade had a massive dominance for a specific position. The 80's was high scoring SF's (tons of them), the 90's was the Age of the Center, and the 2000's was the golden age of PFs, even Karl Malone was still there 2000-2004 and scoring 20+. The 2010s: age of the PG.
My favorite player from back then..and still..shoulda won a chip, but Lakers were in the way.
Injury kills great talents... c-webb, talentwise, is on the same place with duncan and garnett
Under appreciated and under rated. C Webb was the truth…way better than Sheed. Sorry
Weber is 11th best player...as of a few years ago.
6:55 that trauma is the reason KG did Noah like he did. " You can't be a fan out here"‼️
Yes
Bruh I remember Sprewell and Webber on the break in Golden State matter of fact I still have BOTH of their home and away Warriors Jerseys lol....STILL THE BEST TEAM ON NBA LIVE 95 too. lol
Webber
Cwebb was as good as Duncan and KG prior to his knee injury. Kings might have gotten 1 title had he not gotten hurt they had a great team
I always thought about if him and Duncan switched roles and Webber played for the Spurs instead…. I think he would’ve been looked at as a better all around player than Timmy in my humble opinion
He was better than duncan before injury
@@at2130Facts!
Ernie is a Beast😅😅😅
A better college player than an NBA player could not play above the rim and that's what my eyes saw
Yeah you can't name Duncan KG and Dirk without mentioning C Webb ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿 timeout!!!
My favourite player. He could do it all. Except stay healthy
I was a deeply invested kings fan when they had that squad.
I really wish the refs hadn’t screwed them.
Yall remember them DADA's lol
C Webb should’ve a ring. They were robbed that one year, and were better than the nets.
Setting the precedence for running the floor for a PF? um Karl Malone entered the chat.
Webber is like a slightly skinnier Zion with so much more skill and motor. And D.
