I refuse to fault anyone for having Kareem as their best but try to have a better argument. Hakeem played 18 seasons to Kareem's 20. Hakeem was a double-doublr machine from his rookie year for about 13 of his seasons. Faulting him for health is absurd. Hakeem didn't have one if the greatest players of all time, top 5, as his partner for half his career. Hakeem was a better defender, especially rim. Shot a better percentage & Kareem's production started to fall around the same amount of years as Hakeem's while being on a loaded Lakers while Hakeem had to carry Houston alone more than a decade of his 18.

Wilt Chamberlain is easily the best ever.
      Most skilled?
      How do you judge skilled?
I have stats you have your opinion.
And one thing to consider I don't think anyone who didn't play basketball until 17 i believe, is more skilled than other professionals playing it their whole lives.
He is my favorite center of all time but I don't think of him passing the ball or hitting an outside jumper when I picture him playing.
      Do you?
Then how can he be the most skilled?

He must have had some skills.

I’m gonna tell you I live in Houston and I watched Elijah Juan for his whole career here in Houston and I may be a little bit biased, but this guy is definitely one of the greatest NBA centers of all time and he’s definitely in the top five or three centers ever. He just wasn’t a big boat, big mouth or anything like that a very humble person very soft-spoken.

What’s so cool about Hakeem is that they say that he had very low efficacy fluctuations between opposing teams (like how certain players did great or lousy against different teams/defenders). The reason given is that for him “Very difficult shots” were typical shots for him lol. So it makes sense, as a defender your goal is to force people into “Bad shots”, so if Hakeem’s actual bread & butter shots WERE “Bad shots” already then that would explain the great consistency regardless of who was defending him. I suppose Steph would be like that as well.

Finally hearing from somebody who KNOWS what Moses did for Hakeem! I met Akeem 2 days after he got here! ALWAYS DRIVEN! And Moses made him TOUGH! And even with all that Moses did to "make the man" .. Akeem rather the employ the same "street tactics", learned respectfully to smartly out-maneuver! They couldn't tussle at the Summit nor at Hopheinz Pavillion. They had to take that "blood on the floor" kind of scrap to Fonde'! By the time he got to the NBA, this I can tell you, Akeem had seen some of everything, was TOUGH, and was READY! So many stories to tell...

@@hiddengospel That's awesome. I don't have direct experience with it, but I'm fully aware of the teaching / playing / mentoring that Moses gave to Akeem. Akeem was super raw and unpolished when he got to UH. No doubt his effort + Moses teachings helped catapult him upward. Side curiosity - for some reason Hakeem charges a boat load of cash for players to train with him. I don't get that. I doubt Moses charged Akeem anything..

Hakeeem is the second best center I have ever seen (after Kareem Abdul Jabbar). Hakeem is 7ft center version of what these youngsters praise Kyrie Irving over, but also being the best defensive player of his era and one of the best defensive players of all time.

Iirc MJ said he was one of the only ones he hated to face and they didn't even play the same position and he was MJ's first pick in a dream lineup, that says it all.

You are 100% Correct, Hakeem is the best Center to Ever play NBA basketball. Wilt was really good because of his bank shot, Hakeem could go to the bank just as well. Shaq was good because he could Dunk. Hakeem could dunk just as well. Hakeem was never Influenced by popular culture, hence his 34 dollar sneakers (his jersey number). .so he played like the Dream. . However, Had he seen something or had been told something that he was not good at, he would have perfected that too. In his own words, he was UNBEATABLE.

Who is best Defensive Center of all time? Hakeem, leads block shots all time, no one is even close. He is top 10 in steals!!. Who was the best offensive center of all time? Hakeem didnt have all time scoring, but he is definitely top 5. People dont include Hakeem in both categories, everyone thinks Mutombo leads block shots, he is not even close to Hakeem!! In an era where he was triple teamed and still scored 40 points, Hakeem killed it in the post. This is why he is the best, he is both the best at Defense and no one, I mean no one could stop Hakeem in his prime and best in Offense. He was too fast. Props to the African, he was a beast and should be the best of all time, his numbers dont lie.
