The way they react to birds is how my friends realize my “new commander” is actually me just sneaking rat colony or persistent petitioners into a new shell.
You guys should do a week were you have to play partners but they all have to be monocolored. (Rebbec and Arden, Sengir and Tormod, Breeches and Krark, etc.)
Easiest way not to break a Commander is to pull a Seth, which is to never cast or play the Commander to begin with. WOTC: Let's make Eminence a thing. Me: -_-
lol I didnt notice this before but tomer got the direction right which was a suprise until you realize the editor flipped the video leading up to and after it until later. tomer needs to make his room symmetrical to make it easier on him;
Not even four minutes in the episode yet, but I had to stop and ask: Richard: ...no Battle Screech? No Soulcatcher's Aerie!? How can you be a bird tribal deck without Soulcatcher's Aerie?
So fun fact: the myth Toski is based off of, Ratatoskr was a squirrel that would run up and down the world tree delivering gossip between Nidhoggr (a dragon trapped at the bottom of the tree) and an eagle perched at the top, causing both parties to become salty.
Omg yes Richard! Derevi is my bird tribal commander as well! The goal is to use Derevi to untap your lands to cast more birds! All cards in the deck are either birds or have birds in the art, no exceptions!
This was brilliant! And no worries about the audio - still easy to understand. Also, that late-game Judge's Familiar *needs* to be a new Commander Clash moment!
I had a Derevi bird deck awhile ago. Everyone has a plan till a squad of pigeons shows up and no one can block a bunch of flying weenies. It's oddly effective and I love it. Richard repping bird gang like a pro.
I find it funny they said Allela was fair out of the Throne commanders. I built an Allela deck that literally never lost, even when I was being attacked by the entire table as archenemy. Her value was just too much I ended up taking her apart just cause it got to the point no one wanted to play against her cause they couldn't seem to beat her... I loved it. Rashmi was the same way, I could control the board and just out valued everyone. I miss playing those two.... O yeah, Derevi was my 2nd Commander I ever owned... People hated that deck.
14:27, "Deviled Eggs" sounds like a particularly janky Against-The-Odds-Style Mardu sacrifice deck with Mayhem Devil as the payoff to a classic Eggs combo.
My first Modern deck was Seth's Budget Magic "Flying Men," and Judge's Familiar was a *great* card in that deck. I never lost to Mardu Pyromancer in spite of a manabase weak to their Blood Moons, thanks to Familiar and Mausoleum Wanderer.
Tomer could have attacked with the witch stalker at the end sacked the bird he has to draw a card off korvold, and pump the witch stalker with insatiable hunger since it has trample. The bird gone would lower the power of the others and maybe Richard wouldn’t have double blocked it. That seemed like the most optimal line I could see
1:10:19 FYI, "The Bush" refers to undeveloped natural areas. It's a more used term by english speakers in Africa and Australia. While I've never heard the phrase "bushmeat", a poacher hunting in the bush, even if for meat, is a very real problem and one I'm surprised MTG would make a card of.
Man, I understand it wouldn't fit the theme of the week, but it's kind of unfortunate timing to see Tomer running a food themed deck when the food themed commander was just spoiled. I'm guessing they won't want to play another food themed deck so soon.
I was hoping for Atraxa Saproling tribal personally, with every card that can remove counters or whatever to make the tokens. But that's ok, these commander also seem really fun
Sorry about my poor audio this episode. I accidentally deleted my audio for this video so we had to use a backup.
Makes sense... was a bit thrown off
Tomer has the voice of an angel... no matter how crushed the audio is
Love that a quick recap is back. I like to hear about the decks that don’t necessarily get to show what they are trying to do.
Still sounds way better than Gavin that one time
Even the backup still has decent quality.
The double facepalm at Richard's deck tech was perfect.
not just the double facepalm, it's the double double facepalm!
@@DuckandDuctTape lol
It's been 2 minutes of the video and the Editor already managed to win my heart once again.
The way they react to birds is how my friends realize my “new commander” is actually me just sneaking rat colony or persistent petitioners into a new shell.
Any time tomer gives someone grief for playing a creature outside their tribe i always think of his "warrior" deck lol
"It's just bird tribal, guys, I swear, I don't see what you're so scared of!"
*casts Toski*
I'm crying 😂
"Hawks eat squirrels, and then squirrels eat hawk eggs, and that's the circle of life"
-Seth probably better known as David Attenborough
That's rich thank you ( :
The good ol'double face-palm when Richard announces he's bringing the birds back
Richard is my hero. Not the hero we need, but the hero we deserve.
First thing I do when Richard's list hits the screen is look for Dowsing Dagger. Never fails.
Some people have their pet cards and it's great :D
I was surprised there was no Mox Diamond this week.
You guys should do a week were you have to play partners but they all have to be monocolored. (Rebbec and Arden, Sengir and Tormod, Breeches and Krark, etc.)
I love this idea a lot. Please do!
Great idea!
Coming back to this episode and hearing them mock Secret Rendezvous is hilarious knowing how much Richard runs that card now
You guys should have a "Past Glory/Old Flame" week where you play powerful commanders of the format's past. Give us a week with Jeleva, Jhoira, ect!
Richard, I love this deck so much that I'm immediately building a paper version. Never have I so quickly looked at a deck and said, "I need it."
All right, Richard is my new favorite because he keeps representing bird tribal, which appeals to me as an ornithology student.
The fact that the bird deck is now 2 - 1 just shows how dangerous this deck is
Tomers audio has that "last night i rage quit and slapped the mic too hard" vibe
I liked having the outro this time around!
Easiest way not to break a Commander is to pull a Seth, which is to never cast or play the Commander to begin with.
WOTC: Let's make Eminence a thing.
Me: -_-
I thought Seth broke that habit of not casting his commander several seasons ago.
This group is easily my favorite MTG people- keep up the great work you all, thank you for the content
The article in the discretion goes to the color shifted week. Just thought you should know
Outros are back! I love this show so much!
The crew: we're all dead right?
Richard: nah
Also Richard: *has coat of arms in hand*
This episode is basically when Seth played fair "Vannifar Wizards" and locked the table out XD
"Your life doesn't matter, Tomer." Richard 2021.
lol I didnt notice this before but tomer got the direction right which was a suprise until you realize the editor flipped the video leading up to and after it until later. tomer needs to make his room symmetrical to make it easier on him;
I want the birds to be a recurring villain this season.
Fantastic episode concept. One of favorite parts of this channel is how fun the themes/concepts are each week!

Richard consistently giving everyone the bird.
Richard trying to justify Toski takes me back to the real old Clashes. Spooky Lightning Greaves.
Seth "I have like 10 power" his board has 26 power
I love that the outros are back
I had a Derevi bird deck awhile ago. Everyone has a plan till a squad of pigeons shows up and no one can block a bunch of flying weenies. It's oddly effective and I love it. Richard repping bird gang like a pro.
The deck list's in the description are for episode 9 not episode 10

The worst is when you hesitate to kill someone and they take you out lol
Thank you for bringing the outro back!
Can't wait for next week's cEDH and the classic "T1: are we dead yet?"
1:31:05 wizards recently gave us Burn Down the House -- someone left the oven on for too long
14:27, "Deviled Eggs" sounds like a particularly janky Against-The-Odds-Style Mardu sacrifice deck with Mayhem Devil as the payoff to a classic Eggs combo.
To be fair squirrels frequently fly. Basically the same thing as a bird far as I'm concerned.
Shouldn’t a better title be ‘PowerShifted” week? Haha love the show!
The face palms...I love it. In tears at the start already. Come on birds.
Nice shirt crim. I have the same one.
I love the face cams! You all seem more human and likable.
Been a while since we had a nice trash week. I like how everyone’s first thought about making trash decks was random tribal decks.
Random tribal decks can't defeat the Random tribal master.
Probably my favorite episode in a long time. The game didnt felt like a slog for once and you were all on theme
Oh snap the abacus is back ! Richard needs to do a betrayal chart at the end of the season.
Damn, I did not see that Diregraff Captain line... Nice play, Seth 👌
As soon as I heard the word "bird". I died of laughter. The facepalms!
That back wall is really cool, but i'm still waiting for the MTGgoldfish sippy cups!
Food boardwipe? Descend upon the fisherman.
Birds are just squirrels with wings.
Richard was secret squirrel tribal all along!
Birds are the new Zelda Chickens: anger one, and you'll get drowned
I was hoping Crim did a Nekusar vehicles deck and joke about all the wheels in his deck
Your reaction to agro is to intense. You were all above 35 life and you were already making a fuss abou it
Tomer, would you have considered 'Forked Bolt' as a food related bolt?
now I want to make a Korvold Dinner Party deck... food, drinks, tables, chairs, goblets/cups, and various guests
Tomer: "All nonland cards are related to food in some way"
Me: Immediatly see Kozilek, Butcher of Truth in the deck list. "Suuuuuuuuuure."
Butchers are related to food though. His food just happens to be truth :P
I'm confused, we have busted commander week and no chulane? Is he even too busted for this week?
I mean it really really hard to build a crap deck with chulane, as long as you have creatures he's broken.
@@AufziehMeister1 so just build chulance enchanter,
Chulane Kithkin? IS HE THE TRUTH?!
Loved the title for your deck tomer
Decklists?
Scout Tribal! That was my suggestion in stream chat! Nice Seth
Whoah, was that Crim quoting 'Mr. Mastodon Farm'?
The Chipotle comment made me want a burrito :P Thanks for the fun game!
"I'm playing with Korvold, but it's centered around food"
If I see cauldron familiar and witch's oven, I'm gonna close the video right there
Tomer could have attacked with the witch stalker at the end sacked the bird he has to draw a card off korvold, and pump the witch stalker with insatiable hunger since it has trample. The bird gone would lower the power of the others and maybe Richard wouldn’t have double blocked it. That seemed like the most optimal line I could see
richard bird tribal never gets old
We should get an Allstars week where you bring back decks that have won before.
They did this once before back in season 4. I support revisiting it though. It’s the opposite if revenge week.
Okay, that was a cool Swords to Plowshares Seth.
Anyone know what's going on with Tomers Mic?
Shill shaming is new, Tomer. I almost feel bad.
Are you guys ganna do the sippy cups and the soks? Would love to have them!!
I thought that Richard's deck was a budget deck, but the 3k moat is a bit excessive...
Gg Richard. The birds soared to victory!
If anyone's wondering Wingmate Roc is a bird creature that gains life!
I love that Crim is a Misfits fan.. also, that feels in flavor for Grixis, but that might just be me, idk :)
one of my friends plays a Derevi Bird Tribal deck and, can confirm, it's not much less broken than Derevi Stax
Outros are the best. I love hearing thoughts before and after, even if it's "I didn't get to go off".
gg, always kill Richard.
This was fantastic
I agree with Tomer, the only time people talk about colour pie is when someone suggests improvements for white & get told no.
I hope Richard runs the bird deck next week too for the meme lol
The decks I'm still looking to see are Old Partners + New Partners, so either two color or three color decks
Richard please give me the power of the birbs!!!
For reference it is not actually possible to rearrange the letters in Magus of The Wheel to form the word Amass. You are missing both an A and an S
Memes aside for Secret Rendevous, consider it this way: "Pay 3 mana, draw 6 cards against the archenemy."
Omg tomer you have built my idea :D
Gosh Richard is a champion of the people
Hurray for the return of outros!
You never let him live. I won't say who. But we all know. That wry smile hides a Bolas.
Birds are just to OP in Richard's hands 😆 🤣 😂!!!
Tomer repping DOOM in his deck. ALL CAPS ❤️
I love that Richard's deck is $4,000 in paper XD
too bad you sacrificed that food instead of the wolf Tomer
Man, I understand it wouldn't fit the theme of the week, but it's kind of unfortunate timing to see Tomer running a food themed deck when the food themed commander was just spoiled. I'm guessing they won't want to play another food themed deck so soon.
I was hoping for Atraxa Saproling tribal personally, with every card that can remove counters or whatever to make the tokens. But that's ok, these commander also seem really fun
