Hahaha good one 😅😅 I've suffered from this too, but lately I had a revelation around the importance of training in my life and how it is not the be all and end all. So I've been so much more chilled about my training and so far it's been really liberating. I feel like it's going to be able to help me achieve my calisthenics goals a lot easier.
This affects every part of my life. Especially when you are good at a lot of things it's hard to decide what to do. Maths, engineering, programming, art, graphics, dancing, calisthenics, music. I have an often paralysed by all the avenues I have to persue. I find it much easier when I have a few thingz to focus e.g. I have an event competition or exam coming up. The greatest struggle of being a jack of all trades.
Dont worry. The consistency of my videos is result of same thing and exact same problems&struggles. Im a student, business owner and coach, working as an editor part time, training and all that does not let me focus heavily on one thing. So i totally know the struggle brother

Jesus, this is so spot on. FL is my favourite static skills of all time, previously I did lots of different exercises like hold/raise/row/IC/LsitPU/weightedPU/bandassisted/DFlag and much more in single FL session, overthink too much with my workout and eventually got burned out from it with no improvement. Now i started my first job after graduation, with my mind occupied mostly at work, i "reprogrammed" my FL workout just with 3x FL raise 3x FL row and eventually my FL improved faster than before without overthinking it.
Forums and youtube have like 987218476 information/tutorial/guide/progression on how to achieve/master a skills. They will tell you to do this, do that, follow this, follow that (they are correct because they are advance athlete sharing their previous experience). What really matters is depends on how fast the individual able to find the root cause of causing the plateau in their progression (every beginner/intermediate will face plateau in their training i believe). Overthinking with unnecessary sets and overtraining was my issue back then, i literally ditch most of the workout sets (including static hold, since it taxes my CNS heavily) and focus on main 2, FL raises that involves eccentric and concentric, and FL row that strengthen the lats. Occasionally checking my hold time and it got improved surprisingly.
Hahaha, the biggest trap in calisthenics is the one on Dejan Stipke's back 😂 jokes aside, another great video bro. I really like the way you analyze calisthenics topics, truly a source of value here on TH-cam amidst a sea of commercial, generic calisthenics content for the masses.

Really good video! I've started with callisthenics multiple times already and what always made me give up after a month was just being burned out from doing all the research and trying to perfect a routine, making me not want to do anything anymore because it wasn't maximum effenciency. Now i've gone into it with a completely different mindset, focusing on satisficing instead and i've been concistent for 4 months, made alot more progress and it's become so much more fun aswell!
This was incredible, by far your best piece until this point. There's not much to say man, this to me is possibly the most useful bodyweight/cali/gymnastics mindset video. A must watch if you want to get at a serious level in this game. I remember how we used to talk about the necessity of having someone like Zack Telander in the bw community and man, it makes me damn proud to see that you're becoming that figure.

Oh man, I'm falling in love with your content! Fucking amezing! This one just hit me, I was just before watching this, doing this overthinking thing... Luckly I've been doing the things I've to do, I didn't not train because of overthinking, and neither hop programs... My case: I've stick to a specific 2 years program, and I'm very very consistent, I try to learn, and always I liked so much how my program is programmed. But now, I'm a few months close to finish that program, and I was OVERTHINKING LIKE CRAZY, what to do after it... my options were like: start a new program (buy a new one, like a program that you sell), start again the same program (like re-doing the phases), etc. But this makes me feel more relax now, be more confident in that I'm putting effort in it, and maybe it's not perfect, but it is good enough :) My plan for now is: to re-do my same program, and maybe add some extra sessions of strenght only workouts. I'm just calculation how much to add, to not overtrain, to have enough recovery. Well, I just found this video and was like gold for me. Dang, I really like this video and I think this topic needs to be discussed more, not just with calisthenics, but with just general hypertrophy or powerlifting training. Not sure if you’re familiar with him, but Jeff nippard I think is an example of this over analytical approach to training. He’s got great training advice and knowledge, and I agree with him on so much, but he’s not the guy to go to if you’re a beginner, all of his information being thrown at a beginner like I was when I found him only threw me off course rather than guiding me. I love Jeff so don’t get me wrong, but I feel as though Greg doucette and the massive popularity he has received is really a reaction to this hyper analytical training that some guys like Jeff have been pushing for. Just my little tangent
I think I liked video, until the end. As I agree that overthinking is absolutely worst and paralysis you get makes your life real hell when you try to achieve something. But with Calisthenics precisely I think there is more to that. I have seen many "beginner" calisthenics videos. And I was confused, but then I started analyzing and not overthinking to figure out why I did overthink it. Because its not possible I can be only person on earth that takes nothing out of all these videos. So just for the context, I am heavy person 100kg/170cm, with sedentary lifestyle. I have no previous sport experience, and when I say no - literally mean no experience. So when I wanted to start calisthenics, it is literal hell. The overthinking part in Calisthenics for me came from the fact that all those videos are all aimed at people with: -any previous experience in fitness/ sport/ anything related to exercises. -expectation to know what they wanna achieve when they live in this community for split second. [For example me -I just wanna be healthy. I dont wanna have huge muscles, or even some specific muscles. I just wanna be in better shape, which rather seems to be absolute crime in this community. ] -capability to make many things from the beginning. Like: normal pushups, pull ups, dips etc. -investing from scratch, pouring money into rings, bars. bands, when you just wanna try that sport if it fits and all options without them are rather too hard. And you are trying to find something that works for you. And everything is trying to be "helpful" and "guide you." But then you realize that you cannot do any of those exercises, or you just cannot wrap your head around it, you cannot do any of those routines, even they are marked as absolute beginner or beginner. You are getting winded up for this "short and easy" warm up. So naturally you wonder - why can't I do that? And then you are trying to overthink and overanalyze - because how come 99% of other people can do all of that and you can't? And everything spirals down just like in a video. In my perspective - I wanted to know what I am doing in general, not to master it but not just "accept information" just like that and have any idea what is happening and what is tried to be told to me. My knowledge and understanding was not even knowing what series and reps are. So I was beginner not only in calisthenics but also in fitness. So naturally I wanted to start from beginner videos, which would explain to me like a beginner what is what and how everything works, but because of things as listed above, expected and wanted me to know myself, what I want or what should I be capable of. Which makes you scroll for million of videos that are for "absolute beginners" and they really are not, so you just overthinking yourself, about what is wrong with you and what is wrong with them. And you hear that "everything is so customable" but then you get to the point those videos are telling most general things that are not telling you as a person much or super specific stuff, that does not apply to you at all. Those videos are never talking from top to bottom, they are saying. And in the end you are giving some fast general sentence that is not meaning much to me. Just a bunch of words that routes you back to overthinking or overanalyzing things. Or at least they do for me. And I know the best advise for overthinking is just not to overthink. But the way you said it not helping.
Great video, production quality is top! 🔥 I can really relate to this. The times I've made the most progress, I was not overthinking my training, but I was sleeping well, my life was not very stressful and I was sticking to a sustainable training program :-)
Man this is great! And I thnik this is why I'm not making as much progress as I want. For example in HSPU one side is saying do chest to wall HSPU back to wall is BS. Another say back to wall is good for brute strength and arching is not a big problem. So I decide to train back to wall until I will hit full ROM back to wall HSPU and then when I will have more strength I will switch to chest to wall. I do this mistake often in last 6 months I switch from ugly chest to wall to freestanding negatives, then again to ugly chest to wall and now I decide to stick with back to wall and build that strength.
Man yeah exactly! You gotta stick with one thing, at least for some time. Anyways brother i hope you are more self aware now and wont make this mistake again

I never had that problem i just train and thats it i mean if i just want to increase reps in dips just do dips if i want front lever i just do negatives this always works for me i just go it while other people is like hard work vs smart work im like just work with consistency (and of course little knoleadge in the fundamentals for example the fact that the progress is just adaptations of your body in order tho be able to perform better the in the next session of training)

Paradoksalnie najwięcej złego w świecie kalisteniki/street workout'u zrobili tacy ludzie jak Barstarzz i ich słynne "rutynki", Bar brothers i ich wszyscy pseudonaśladowcy czy pojedyńcze "gwiazdy" street workoutu którzy niejednokrotnie mieli podłoże gimnastyczne lub ćwiczyli na siłowni wcześniej lub w trakcie nie przyznając się do tego i myląc początkujących. Mam na myśli te treningi w których było milion ćwiczeń na jedną partię często różniących się jedynie wariacją czy splity na 7 dni w tygodniu które proponowali. Czemu paradoksalnie? Bo gdyby nie oni to ten sport może nie byłby tak popularny jak jest obecnie. Wszystko co wymieniłem prowadzi do największego problemu w świecie tego sportu. Do wspominanego w filmie overthinking'u i overanalyzing'u bo chcąc jak najszybciej osiągnąć nasz cel chwytamy się wszystkiego co tylko wpadnie nam w łapy.

Secondly what difference does it even make for you, for real... even if that was my goal to make money.. would something be wrong about it? -capability to make many things from the beginning. Like: normal pushups, pull ups, dips etc.
-investing from scratch, pouring money into rings, bars. bands, when you just wanna try that sport if it fits and all options without them are rather too hard.
And you are trying to find something that works for you. And everything is trying to be "helpful" and "guide you." But then you realize that you cannot do any of those exercises, or you just cannot wrap your head around it, you cannot do any of those routines, even they are marked as absolute beginner or beginner. You are getting winded up for this "short and easy" warm up.
So naturally you wonder - why can't I do that? And then you are trying to overthink and overanalyze - because how come 99% of other people can do all of that and you can't?
And everything spirals down just like in a video.
In my perspective - I wanted to know what I am doing in general, not to master it but not just "accept information" just like that and have any idea what is happening and what is tried to be told to me. My knowledge and understanding was not even knowing what series and reps are. So I was beginner not only in calisthenics but also in fitness.
So naturally I wanted to start from beginner videos, which would explain to me like a beginner what is what and how everything works, but because of things as listed above, expected and wanted me to know myself, what I want or what should I be capable of.
Which makes you scroll for million of videos that are for "absolute beginners" and they really are not, so you just overthinking yourself, about what is wrong with you and what is wrong with them.
And you hear that "everything is so customable" but then you get to the point those videos are telling most general things that are not telling you as a person much or super specific stuff, that does not apply to you at all.
Those videos are never talking from top to bottom, they are saying.
And in the end you are giving some fast general sentence that is not meaning much to me. Just a bunch of words that routes you back to overthinking or overanalyzing things. Or at least they do for me. And I know the best advise for overthinking is just not to overthink. But the way you said it not helping.

I can really relate to this. The times I've made the most progress, I was not overthinking my training, but I was sleeping well, my life was not very stressful and I was sticking to a sustainable training program :-)

Man this is great! And I thnik this is why I'm not making as much progress as I want. For example in HSPU one side is saying do chest to wall HSPU back to wall is BS. Another say back to wall is good for brute strength and arching is not a big problem. So I decide to train back to wall until I will hit full ROM back to wall HSPU and then when I will have more strength I will switch to chest to wall. I do this mistake often in last 6 months I switch from ugly chest to wall to freestanding negatives, then again to ugly chest to wall and now I decide to stick with back to wall and build that strength.
Man yeah exactly! You gotta stick with one thing, at least for some time. Anyways brother i hope you are more self aware now and wont make this mistake again

This happens when it comes to starting a business you start overthinking about the steps to starting a business
I never had that problem i just train and thats it i mean if i just want to increase reps in dips just do dips if i want front lever i just do negatives this always works for me i just go it while other people is like hard work vs smart work im like just work with consistency (and of course little knoleadge in the fundamentals for example the fact that the progress is just adaptations of your body in order tho be able to perform better the in the next session of training)

Mam na myśli te treningi w których było milion ćwiczeń na jedną partię często różniących się jedynie wariacją czy splity na 7 dni w tygodniu które proponowali. Czemu paradoksalnie? Bo gdyby nie oni to ten sport może nie byłby tak popularny jak jest obecnie. Wszystko co wymieniłem prowadzi do największego problemu w świecie tego sportu. Do wspominanego w filmie overthinking'u i overanalyzing'u bo chcąc jak najszybciej osiągnąć nasz cel chwytamy się wszystkiego co tylko wpadnie nam w łapy.

Dude... come on... first of all, the channel is not even monetized and is far, far from it. There are no ads in the vid as you can see and last thing i do it for is the money, did not earn a single penny through it. Secondly what difference does it even make for you, for real... even if that was my goal to make money.. would something be wrong about it? I dont sell anything, you lose nothing, its only small reward for creator for his work. And thirdly, no i did not stretched out the video, its natural length.
