Our washer has progressively gotten worse to the point of not working sayin unbalanced even when it wasn't. I was so worried about a big repair bill until I saw this video. Ordered the new springs on amazon and just finished installing w/ the help of this video. Fingers crossed it spins out, but even if it doesnt this tutorial was fantastic

Your video seemed to be the quickest and most simple way to replace the rods. It took me more than an hour to do it but I did it by myself and I struggled with getting the rods into place at the very top because the drum was so darn heavy… needless to say, I did it! Thank you so much for the video and the ease of how you explained how to do this. I did a load immediately after installing the new suspension rods and it worked perfectly!

Thanks. Your video actually explains how to fix UB code. Others just explains the obvious the machine is Unbalanced. It shouldn't be Unbalanced on every load and the owner should not have to physically balance every load. That is what other channels were explaining to do ridiculous. This is great information and tutorial.
I just did this repair. Worked great. Looked around TH-cam and saw a video of a Maytag being worked on and their rods go in from the bottom of the machine! I'll take the Samsung design any day. Good video!

Thank you for this video. I was about to pull the trigger and buy a new washer. Bought the same rods off of Amazon, got the old rods out no problem. Once I put in the new rods I made sure the machine was balanced and then ran the calibration cycle that takes a couple of minutes. Washed a load and had no issues! Almost exactly the same model but the 5200 version whatever difference that is 🤷♂️
Calibration cycle? How do you do that? I replaced my springs and the thing hasn't improved at all. Can barely wash anything without getting the bin banging on the wall and this code.

I had this issue and the 4 nobs underneath the washer machine had to be turned down to the floor to balance off the machine. I moved washer machine to get something that fell behind it. The nobs twist and the machine became unbalanced. So try this first before you spend to much unnecessary money.

Your video guided me to the point where of pulling up the panel. Do you just pulled until it came up, mines isn’t coming up so easy. How did you do it?
It’s a little tricky but will come up at the right angle. After all the screws are out lift the back up a little and then wiggle backwards pulling towards the rear of the machine then up if I can remember correctly.
Do you have to add lube to the new rods before installing them? I have a similar washer, same issue. Ordered replacement rods on Amazon, going to arrive on Wednesday. Planning on installing them that day.

I was getting the UR and UB error. We replaced these parts which happen to be the same for my very similar Samsung washer. It worked like a charm for about 20 washes and the it started doing it again😭😭😭😭😭 any other recommendations?
One user said they go Nyogel 767 dampening grease and put that on where the springs are like they had from factory and that fixed the issue. It’s worth a shot!
@@R0T0RGUST unfortunately that won’t help. If it didn’t fix it most likely you have another issue. Some people have been told I’d a computer issue with the control board. Bummer that It didn’t fix yours.
@@MrKnowSomeThings I got some nyogel 767 damping grease and applied it on the shaft under the springs’ travel range and that did the trick. Just did an oversized load with sheets, towels and clothes in it without the unbalancing issue. Problem solved.
Was the machine banging when before you replaced the rods. Also, how do I know which rods to buy. I pushed down on the drum but it doesn’t have a bounced spring effect. Could they still be bad.
@MsElegance23 during the spin cycle it would start out fine and then start to bang and the washer would pause and give the UB error code. This would continue over and over even with small loads of laundry causing a cycle to take 3-5 hours to finish washing. The rods didn’t seem to have a bouncing spring effect when I pushed on the drum either. If you look up Samsung suspension rods on Amazon and type your model number in. They will list all the model numbers that the rods work on. Just match that up. 👍

Now ive done bought a cheap set off of ebay, a set from amazon, and from samsung that are over priced. Still off balance. Even slathered the rods down with extra dampening grease. So whats the real fix for this issue? It passes in the diagnostic mode, but still wobble with any size load
Sorry to hear you have been having trouble…. That stinks. That’s been the real fix for thousands of people. A few people commented on here that a repairman came out after it didn’t fix theirs and were told that is was the computer. I heard that was expensive, it may be time for a new washer. Good luck trying to figure it out.

Not that I am aware of! If you really have made sure the machine is level and adjusted the feet of the machine I would say this has fixed about 80% of peoples issue.
@@MrKnowSomeThings thank you, we fixed some light subfloor issues and level the floor. It worked great for 3 loads and then it started shaking badly again. Now I’m having to do this step😪 To make matters worse, after the UB or UR code it restarts the rinsing cycle making me waste so much water
I’m sorry I’m not sure. Did you check to make sure the suspension rods were the same length? Assuming also that the machine is on a level surface? Not trying to imply you didn’t just making sure basics checked first.
Check to see if the drum is actually wobbling when empty and spinning before it stops and presents the UB code. If it is not wobbling but still says UB it could need a new control board.
That stinks! If it fixed your issue initially you may recheck to make sure the springs are all still mounted correctly in the drum and there isn’t an issue with one of them. Otherwise, I am not sure as I haven’t had the issue return so I haven’t needed to troubleshoot further at this time. Wish I could be more help.
The only other thing I know is to really check and make sure it’s level. Unless you are washing a really heavy comforter you will need to center the load.
Bummer. I would just make sure the machine is level and the suspension rods are locked in. If they are then sounds like the drive mechanism for spinning may be an option but I’ve not looked further into the issue yet since ours is currently working.
Bummer, it has helped almost everyone here who has had the same issue. I am sure you have checked the other common unbalanced issues and made sure the machine is level and adjusted correctly. I can’t think of what else it could be
It was ub code. I do not still have the old rods but there was nothing super noticeable wrong visually but the drum had a lot more movement with the old compared to new.
I’m 99% sure this is the issue that I have with my washer. I called a mechanic and they said it was fine they just have to trouble shoot it then the other mechanic said it’s the shock piston that needs to be replaced.. should I just take matters into my own hands and do the work myself? Lol
I think you can do it. Give it a shot and if it doesn’t fix it then call them but for $40 it’s not a lot of money lost if it doesn’t work and it has fixed probably 85% of people’s issues on here.

Good day, I wanted to ask, the washing machine DC68-03172B-03 does not spin the drum, it turns at low speeds and that’s it, it won’t start anymore! please tell me what is the problem?
I’m sorry it could be multiple items and I have not personally had the issue yet. If it sounds like the drum is trying to turn it could be the motor coupling at the bottom which actually turns the drum. See if that is warn out. Otherwise there are multiple sensors on the machine, if it doesn’t see the lid as being closed it will not spin either. Does your lid lock? If not that sensor may be bad. It may also be a control board issue. Sometimes they go out and sometimes they just have glitches. Try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and plugging it back in and retrying. This would only do something if the prior mentioned things were not issues. Good luck

Clipping it should be good enough as long as the hose is far enough away from the drum. I didn’t rewrap mine and I havnt had any issues.

You do not need to add anything to the replacement suspension rods. Just install and you should be good to go.

No I’m sorry, other than making sure new rods are correct for the model. Same length?
Can I just buy some beefier springs and change those?
Just buy the upgraded suspension rods and replace and you should be good to go, if that’s your issue like it has been for many others here.

My samsung washer is only 2 mo old. I just received the Ub error. Do you think the springs need to be replaced this soon?
2 months old I would say the springs should not be an issue. Make sure it’s leveled.

Any idea why it says unbalanced after new springs... even when empty on a self clean cycle?

Put more weight in the center of the drum when washing clothes.

Give the suspension rod replacement a try. It has helped fix a majority of washers with the error. Not all, but a majority.

Just the unbalanced error during the spin cycle. This went away after the suspension rod shocks got replaced.

It was ub code. I do not still have the old rods but there was nothing super noticeable wrong visually but the drum had a lot more movement with the old compared to new.

I’m 99% sure this is the issue that I have with my washer. I called a mechanic and they said it was fine they just have to trouble shoot it then the other mechanic said it’s the shock piston that needs to be replaced.. should I just take matters into my own hands and do the work myself? Lol
I think you can do it. Give it a shot and if it doesn’t fix it then call them but for $40 it’s not a lot of money lost if it doesn’t work and it has fixed probably 85% of people’s issues on here.
You might need to call a professional to replace these

Is this new or you bought it used from someone? If it’s new I would take it back. If you bought it used, try the suspension rods and go from there.
Good day, I wanted to ask, the washing machine DC68-03172B-03 does not spin the drum, it turns at low speeds and that’s it, it won’t start anymore! please tell me what is the problem?
I’m sorry it could be multiple items and I have not personally had the issue yet. If it sounds like the drum is trying to turn it could be the motor coupling at the bottom which actually turns the drum. See if that is warn out.
Otherwise there are multiple sensors on the machine, if it doesn’t see the lid as being closed it will not spin either. Does your lid lock? If not that sensor may be bad. It may also be a control board issue. Sometimes they go out and sometimes they just have glitches. Try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and plugging it back in and retrying. This would only do something if the prior mentioned things were not issues. Good luck
