You are a true biker at heart. I doubt if I would have done it any differently. If this bike is a keeper then resale values should not bother you too much. Thanks for introducing us to this unique brand of fine motorcycle.
Thanks. I agree. You should be Buying a bike like this to keep and ride. It’s a brand new bike / model so resale values are unknown. I always buy with my heart. Probably why I’m skint. 😂
The main problem with all these Chinese bikes is there is sweet FA dealerships and aftermarket parts will be a long time coming, agreed it looks good and seems to go well but second hand values will be zilch in no time.
They are owned and built in Italy I believe. But they are Part of the Keeway group which is Chinese but to be fair their standards are so much better than they used to be. Same with Benelli which is part of the same group. Every time I see a new one you can see more improvements.
Totally agree with you Mike Hurley. Dealership establishment is #1 for me in any vehicle or machine. Anything 'consumer grade' item (eg toaster or TV), I can live with if it dies during it's lifetime. But for a vehicle that I consider would last 30 years or more, then dealerships are critical. I can imagine some bikes being written off by insurance companies because a drop in the driveway scratch the zorst and there's no OEM or aftermarket replacement. The MBP's pricetag, lack of long term dealership support, fear of depreciation, reluctance to buy a new brand, etc will kill sales, so market share will make these sorts of bikes unviable, especially as regulations will tighten up on what we buy & how we use it (eg crazy speed limits in Wales, or ULEZ rules). Frankly, I think the 'golden years' of motorcycling have passed, and we can only enjoy what's left before it's no longer a thing for people to indulge in. Yes, China can make some good motorcycles if they really want to, but it's too little too late. Motorcycle owners are a 'cliquey' bunch and if they're not rusted on to their Norton, Triumph, BMW, Ducati, Moto Guzzi, Vespa, Harley Davidson, Royal Enfield, Yamaha, Suzuki, Honda, Kwikazfuki, KTM, then they're not spending money on all the other remaining brands on the market.
Maybe, Like KTM then. If you buy a bike for resale value and not how it makes you feel or how it looks and handles then you're more dealer than rider. They are unproven but I remember all these things being said in the seventies by older bikers regarding Japanese bikes...Time will tell.
The other thing that is worth noting on the MBP is that it comes standard with Metzeler Cruisetec tyres. That's a virtual discount on the purchase price, as a lot of other bikes don't have such premium tyres. It might sound like I'm a biased Cruisetec fan, which you'd be right in thinking that I am. Also, a big thumbs up to MBP (Keeway) for providing footboards on this bike.
I love the look of the bike very much a Vmax look . The rear of the bike looks cool. You could even think that its a Harley V Rod . Great stream thanks 👍👍👍

very interesting, I can tell you a bit of info, the bike is made by a company called Gaokin, look up the Gaokin Thor GK1002 to see more and it is sold by a part of the Keeway group outside of Asia, as MBP in Europe, a new company based in Italy, it stands for Moto Bologna Passion, there is an adventure bike coming using the same engine as well
Remember seeing this bike 2 to 3 years ago, but it was called Gaokin Thor. No idea where MBP has come from, but their website doesnt really tell you much. They dont seem to have much of a range of bikes coming out. Looks good, but I bet there are zero aftermarket parts for it.
It’s brand new to the uk. I can’t find any accessories for it yet. Give it a couple of months. Hopefully they will have started to make some bits by then.

I agree that only time will tell about reliability and Kawa name have its weight, but I enjoy what I see here and all reviews I watch by now they are all positive.
I’ve not heard anything negative about these yet. The very positive thing I’ve seen recently, is in a dealership that sells them I’ve seen one of their mechanics buy one. And he’s an experienced mechanic as well. That for me is high praise for the bike. Those guys know the difference between a good and bad bike.
I honestly don’t know. I can’t find anything online which confirms service intervals. I’m going back into that dealers in a week or so, so I will ask. 👍
It feels like the 1970's Japanese invasion of bikes, only this time it's China. China has made some real pieces of crap bikes, but they have also made some AMAZING ones, too. I LOVE the Chinese bike start up with the lights, and dashboard displays. EDIT : That Vtwin is absolutely stunning !

@@GillyBikes Yeah, it might take a little time, but people are starting to see, like the JANUS motors are Chinese Honda clones that are supposedly bulletproof.

Brother, i have this motorcycle since 2023 but i cant find any accesosires for that. Is there any that you know ? Can I add batwing, side bags ? Also in the rainy days the back tire is throwing all the dirt to my head and back on the road
I hope the 650 comes over to the UK. this bigger one is brilliant though. If In2moto would have given me more for my part ex I would have bought one. 😭
@@GillyBikesits honestly a lot of bike for the money. The only unknown is its longterm reliability, but im sure it'll be on par with most tbh. The 650 would do great here i think, so fingers crossed.
This is a nice looking bike, keeway need to bring the benda CF700, nighthawk and the benda leapolion 450 they are stunning.. A heated motorcycle seat would be great.
MBP (Moto Bologna Passione)....is based, as the brand name says..in Bologna, Italy, as is the design team for this bike. MBP is part of the Keeway/QJ Group together with BENELLI, based in Pesaro, Italy.
@@halfnelson6115 oh dear, this "so..made in China" uninformed bias again ! Do check out where KTM and BMW have certain engines manufactured, then of course there is PIAGGIO & Zongshen and, here's a good one, check out how much Zongshen manufactures for Harley-Davidson. I can remember being in a motorcycle showroom in the early 1970's and hearing...."so....made in Japan" . Yes, believe it or not, the welding was awful, the handling was rubbish - but - oh so quickly things changed. It's happening again, this time it is China and brands like VOGE, CF MOTO and MBP no longer fit the "so..made in China" bias and those brands are joined by the Keeway stable that includes QJ Motor and Benellli. (I won't even get into the fact that I owned a SUZUKI Inazuma 250 that was manufactured in China !! )
I totally agree. I bought a Voge 300 rally after I tried one. Much better than the Honda. Voge make engines for so many different brands like Kawasaki and bmw. Yet “it’s Chinese” will always be said as though it’s a bad thing. On the plus side it’s those people saying that which is keeping their prices down. As soon as everyone catch up and realise they are good that’s when the prices jump up. For now I’m making the most of those lower prices 👍
Un saludo desde España, excelente review, actualmente tengo una Honda Rebel 1100 pero me gusta la MBP 1002, qué opinas, esta la 1002V al nivel de la Rebel? Un saludo
Dropped into millennium on Sunday with a couple of mates, there were two mbp bikes there, we knew nothing about them and all three of us were impressed with how they looked, it was a surprise when we were informed about what they were.
They seem to have appeared out of nowhere. I never heard of them until they appeared at Wigan motorcycles. Looks amazing. A really nice bike to ride as well. Much better than the Kawasaki Vulcan s that I had, much more refined than the last Harley I had and better the Honda Rebel that I’ve tried. I’m really impressed.
@@GillyBikes it will be interesting to see how they are after they have been around for a year or two, might go for a second hand one if they turn out to be good
Looks exactly like the "GK 1000 Thor" from the same manufacture that builts the Brixton Cromwell.👍 Good looking bike, but why does they change the very cool name? 🤔
Nice looking bike. If that had hydraulic valve train, and a local dealer where I live ... I could be interested. Not a lot of luggage options, but a backpack is better than nothing.
Buy an Aeristitch one piece suit, if you intend riding in winter. And a heated waistcoat to warm the heart, ensuring blood pumped to the nether regions is already toasty. My own "record" was -16c, which was friggin awful.
The Aerostitch one piece should be your first buy. They are not cheap but can be put on and off in seconds. And the armour works. And yup, -16 at Bonar Bridge in Scotland one December on a K1200RS, doing a Xmas present run for nieces. Was warm when I left Edinburgh...@@GillyBikes
Them handlebars look like theyd fold up if they had any pressure applied to them, only time will tell on these lesser known chinese bikes if they will still be good after 20yrs like alot of the japanese or harley cruisers.looks the part though.
I believe they are owned and built in Italy. The overall fit and finish looks very premium to be fair. But with it being very new to the market you’re right. Only time will tell how it looks in 20 years.
The warranty is my peace of mind. But I understand what you mean. Honda is an old and reliable manufacturer and so is trusted. These new companies have to earn all of our trust. Only time and reliable bikes will do that.
I was given the bike to use that day only. someone else was getting it the day after. Hopefully as my channel grows I will get to borrow them for more than a day. But at least everyone know what they are like to ride in the rain now 😂
This is what Harley should have done with their new Revmax motor... make a New super V-Rod. I think it is great NEW Machine. I hope these Chinese machines come stateside. Interesting to see how reliable these will be in the long run.
I got gjven a speed triple s for a day a few years back. Same weather. Its as though i CAN have something nice to play with, im just not allowed to enjoy it very much.
Overall it looks great. A Chinese bike. However I would wish for a full rear fender instead of the mud slinger that is on there now and not a fan of the pointed trim sticking off the front of the tank. I didnt get the feeling it was a very powerful bike but adequate to get you around. Thanks for putting up with the rain to make this review.
I had it in the lowest power mode on account of the rain. Even in the horrendous weather I really enjoyed spending the day with it. It’s top of my next bike list.
Not bad looking, in a sort of "fruit of an unnatural union between a Virago and a DN-01" style. I'd worry about durability, though, and spares support a few years down the line.
Really interesting bike. I'm not against chinese bikes, I have 2 x 250s, but finish and corrosion resistance is generally poor. For £9k+ I hope this is addressed.
I’m trying to get one of these for a few days to compare with my mates £20,000 Harley Davidson. Shockingly his Harley is already full of rust and it’s only 6 months from new. Hopefully get that done in the next few weeks.
In the past I would have agreed. They did send a lot of crap over, But their standards have really improved. They look and feel so much better than they used to. Now however is the test. How will they look after 12 months of crap uk weather??? Hopefully still the same 🤞
Good on ya for taking the bike out in such bad weather! I was intrigued by this machine at first. But I got concerned by the size of the bike. I am a bigger rider and I don't think I would be very comfortable on it. For reference, I currently ride a Victory Vision, and I realize that any bike would be a step down from that in terms of comfort and touring chops. Further, I don't see any option for luggage or windshield options. Then I did some research and found out what is really happening here. No thanks.
The joys of Euro compliance. They make most exhausts look big, bulky and ruin the sound. Thankfully the aftermarket ones will be here soon to improve the looks and sound.

The Bosch electronic fuel injection system ensures precise performance every time. The full-color 5” TFT digital dashboard brings new technology to an old-school- inspired build so you can easily see all your ride metrics at once.
Thats a futuristic looking boat anchor. Does it have a good support for maintenance and parts? That's a honest and problematic question. Do you buy them at your local lawnmower dealership? Most Chinese bike are.
Maybe 30 years ago 😂. These bikes are being sold all over the UK now. Being imported by Motogb so all of their dealers have them and lots more that they supply to. As for other parts of the world I have no idea what they do or where they sell them. In the uk everything is good 😎
Nice review, It looks good, but also looks Chinese cheap to me. IMO Over priced. I have a used 19yro Road King, $6k US. That's what thills me now. Have a Great Ride!
I agree. I usually get bikes after 1 million TH-camrs have already reviewed them so I don’t bother with the technical stuff. I figured by the time they get to me they have already seen a lot of other videos so I would just be repeating them. I’m not used to getting one early like this. I will remember that if I get another one early.
I kind of agree with you. It looks big and you expect a much better sound and then you get quite a weedy noise out of it. The exhaust would have to be changed for me.
Unfortunately i think they have priced it to high.. to give it a chance they should of priced it at 7k . i bet the service interval is short aswell. I understand its cheap compared to the competition, but the competition is established 😉
That’s the battle they have. But I do think there are lots of people out there that want, but can’t afford or justify paying £20,000 for a Harley but they would be happy to pay less than half for one of these. Me included. And to be fair a £20,000 Harley will lose a stupid amount of money. At least £5,000 for the first year gone.
That is the question. If people buy them then yes. If they don’t then no. Only time will tell but I really hope they keep going because these bikes are brilliant
If we all liked the same things life would be boring. What suits some will Not suit others. I will say though These bikes do look better in person though. I don’t think being on camera does them justice.
I will hopefully see this press bike again in the summer. So it will be interesting to see it after all of the magazines and TH-camrs have played all winter on it.

Good review inspite of Shit weather. I want one. In UK this year, Summer is on the 21 July.
Thanks. It was a bad weather day but the bike performed really well. Hopefully I can take one out in the summer when the weather is. Better.
How's hoping for a 2024 heritage classic 114?
Brother, i have this motorcycle since 2023 but i cant find any accesosires for that. Is there any that you know ? Can I add batwing, side bags ? Also in the rainy days the back tire is throwing all the dirt to my head and back on the road
That’s what holding me back buying one. I’m told there are accessories coming but I’ve not seen any anywhere yet. How has the bike been for you?
Great looking bike tbh, and i also am interested in its 650cc version when that drops, as thats great looking too.
Nice. Will test drive one.
You should. Let me know how it goes.
This is a nice looking bike, keeway need to bring the benda CF700, nighthawk and the benda leapolion 450 they are stunning..
A heated motorcycle seat would be great.
Yes and heated grips. For me that should be standard
MBP (Moto Bologna Passione)....is based, as the brand name says..in Bologna, Italy, as is the design team for this bike. MBP is part of the Keeway/QJ Group together with BENELLI, based in Pesaro, Italy.
Thanks for that. I’m going to do some research on them. I’m a big fan of
So... made in China?
No. Designed and made in Italy. Most likely using parts that are made in china.
Un saludo
Який розход бензину на 100км?
I'm an Enduro guy but if I were looking for a cruiser I'd really check that out.
These are really worth thinking about. I had loads of fun and would 100% recommend one.
But why is it always raining? I live in the north of Ireland and it never rains there.
I’m pretty certain it’s always dry here until I put my bike gear on and then it pours down.
When you have the chance take it... and you did.. Love the bike. Hope you had some hot soup after that ride.
Absolutely. I did need a few hot drinks straight after to warm up.
@@GillyBikes it will be interesting to see how they are after they have been around for a year or two, might go for a second hand one if they turn out to be good
@andydavidson I seriously considering a new one. I just want / need there to be a way of getting some luggage on the back.
I like the looks of that bike and would love to throw my legs across one. Do they sale here in the US?
I would bet they will make there way over there. Don’t think they are there yet though.
I absolutely love it. What a great bike ❤
My favourite bike of the year. So far….
I seen one of these at the bike show. That back tyre is huge 😎. Looks amazing.
Yes. That back tyre is obscene. It looks so big in person. I don’t think the camera did its size justice
Big tyre = big replacement cost :(
Could it have been the rider modes that made it struggle at low speed in 2nd gear?
I’m not sure. Hopefully I will get it again in the summer and check it again.
It is a Turkish bike. I am glad you also like it too. Cheers!
It’s a great bike wherever it’s from.
Have considered the SWM Storm breaker if you want a 1200 engine as a Harley made under licence
I will take a look at those. Thanks.
Looks exactly like the "GK 1000 Thor" from the same manufacture that builts the Brixton Cromwell.👍
Good looking bike, but why does they change the very cool name? 🤔
I honestly don’t know. I like the bike but the name is a bit forgettable.
Nice looking bike. If that had hydraulic valve train, and a local dealer where I live ... I could be interested. Not a lot of luggage options, but a backpack is better than nothing.
That’s the only thing that worries me. Hopefully a rear rack will be on the options list soon. I can’t tour with just a back pack. 😭
@@GillyBikes Looking at the bike, there's just no option to mount anything, except possibly a soft tank bag.
That was what I thought as well. That just wouldn’t do for me. I live in hope that they create something.
Buy an Aeristitch one piece suit, if you intend riding in winter. And a heated waistcoat to warm the heart, ensuring blood pumped to the nether regions is already toasty. My own "record" was -16c, which was friggin awful.
Wow that’s cold. I have heard good things about heated clothing. I might have to treat myself to some for the next winter.
I will take a look. Thanks.
Warm hands can save your life. Once the hand pain starts in the cold, its incredibly distracting.
Quite difficult to grab the breaks quickly as well. Heated grips / gloves are a must in the winter.
I would be looking at the Honda Rebel 1100 UK on the road price £10.499 on the road. That extra grand would mean peace of mind.
The warranty is my peace of mind. But I understand what you mean. Honda is an old and reliable manufacturer and so is trusted. These new companies have to earn all of our trust. Only time and reliable bikes will do that.
Those gloves should sponsor you! A rain gear company too!
That would be the dream. It would certainly save me some money. 🤔
An actual review by a real rider. Why? Test ride in the rain i subscribed.
I’m really tempted to buy one. Might have to trade my Yam in.
I got gjven a speed triple s for a day a few years back. Same weather. Its as though i CAN have something nice to play with, im just not allowed to enjoy it very much.
Absolutely. The worst luck. Hopefully I will get to play on it properly in the summer.
What make of jeans are you wearing.
They are from JTS biker clothing. I’ve had them a few years now. Really comfortable.
Wish these bikes were in the USA.
I think they would do well over there. Hopefully you will get them soon.
No mention of the engine or even capacity why?
Sorry I must have left cut it by mistake in the edit. It’s a 997cc
Looks like my friends Indian Scout 🤔 it's a good looking bike but it sucks the weather is not dry
I’ve been promised that I can borrow one in the summer. Hopefully get a camping weekend away on one. That’s the plan anyway.
Not bad looking, in a sort of "fruit of an unnatural union between a Virago and a DN-01" style. I'd worry about durability, though, and spares support a few years down the line.
It’s always going to be a worry with a new bike. Only time will tell but based on the quality of this I hope they are here to stay.
Good looking bike.
I think so. Much better in person as well.
Great review :) I wish I could be more enthused about products from china but they don't play by the rules and their quality and safety show it.
No thanks.
That’s why is never bought one myself. There doesn’t appear to be any aftermarket parts for it. If I couldn’t tour on it that it’s no good for me.
Fine looking-blackrd out making v engine the central point of whole look.
I love the looks. Cool from a few angles.
The exhaust is a tad bulky and low but otherwise I want one
The joys of Euro compliance. They make most exhausts look big, bulky and ruin the sound. Thankfully the aftermarket ones will be here soon to improve the looks and sound.
this bike has took my interest and what a shit day to test a bike around Warrington .
You’re not wrong. Great bike. Shit day. I got completely soaked
Those silencers 😮 should be quiet then 😅
I didn't hear how many cc's the engine is. That is pretty important to know.
It’s 997cc it’s a bit of a beast.
@@GillyBikes yeah right buddy🤪 124cc
😂😂😂 I would race this against any 124cc.
@@GillyBikes hmm okay after that, mbp vs vmax
That’s a 1200 so that’s cheating 😂
What’s the cc of this bike
997cc 4-stoke V-twin engine with cylinders positioned at 80°. The open chassis shows off the powerful motor that’s capable of a maximum speed of 198 km/h and puts out 70kW at 7600 rpm. The liquid-cooled system and 6-speed transmission deliver pace via a belt drive for a dependable and low-maintenance ride.
You’re lucky. A 19year old bike like that just wouldn’t work in the uk. The weather would have turned it to dust.
Not much technical data in this review, I think knowing the cc is very important, drive train? ??
I agree. I usually get bikes after 1 million TH-camrs have already reviewed them so I don’t bother with the technical stuff. I figured by the time they get to me they have already seen a lot of other videos so I would just be repeating them. I’m not used to getting one early like this. I will remember that if I get another one early.
Looks nice, sounds like a lawnmower.
I kind of agree with you. It looks big and you expect a much better sound and then you get quite a weedy noise out of it. The exhaust would have to be changed for me.
It looks like Judge Dredd's bike. Especially the handlebars.
Now you have said that I want one even more 😂
Unfortunately i think they have priced it to high.. to give it a chance they should of priced it at 7k . i bet the service interval is short aswell.
@@GillyBikes good luck ...
niiice
They really are 👍😎
Chinese are making a full court press with new bikes, leaving European and American brands at a disadvantage. Will they survive ?
That is the question. If people buy them then yes. If they don’t then no. Only time will tell but I really hope they keep going because these bikes are brilliant
A Chinese v-rod?
Much, much cheaper though 👍
Lovely looking bike apart from the horrible exhaust system
I don’t think they have any after market ones either. Hopefully after it’s been out a while there will be a few to choose from.
Too bad it's not readily available on the Western side of the pond.
It’s very new for us in the UK. I hope it takes off because it’s a great bike.
I think in China this bike is called the Gadkin.
Yeah I’ve seen a few different names for it. I think they have picked the worse for the uk though. A very strange name.
If a V Max and a V Rod had a badtard son this would be it.
Looking like a v max
TF screen kind of annoying to look at like your phone. They could of made around and nicer to fit the cruiser style.Overall doesn't inspire me sorry.
If we all liked the same things life would be boring. What suits some will
Not suit others. I will say though These bikes do look better in person though. I don’t think being on camera does them justice.
Very weird looking in a good way.
Thanks for review. BUT £200 for a pair of gloves is why motorcycling is declining.
You don't have to spend £200 on gloves.
It’s because they are heated gloves. Before this I’ve never spent over £60
You don’t. Unless they are heated and ride in the cold without heated grips.
I have a $200 dollar pair. I also have a $40 pair. I wear the $40 pair 90% of the time.
I have a £50 pair that I mainly use. These ones are just winter / cold weather. Hopefully only come out for a few months a year.
Don't leave it out in the rain for to long, it Will rust
I will hopefully see this press bike again in the summer. So it will be interesting to see it after all of the magazines and TH-camrs have played all winter on it.
Name a bike that won’t.
