    The same thing that has happened
    to St. George has happened to
    Bend, Oregon. Everything is
    wonderful......until everybody
    moves there. They have become
    overpopulated. There was a time,
    many years ago, when I considered
    this area. Sadly, that is no longer
    the case.

      Same happened in California. People flocked there from everywhere. You can't stop people from moving around the country for climate, work or affordable housing (if any). If you're informed you will notice that it's happening all over the country. States and cities that weren't in the radar are nowadays popular.

      Yes, we have lots of retirement communities. This is the place to go when you retire. :) When hiking in the area I've seen desert tortoises, lizards, snakes, frogs, and have been warned of coyotes or foxes in the area. I would say the most prevalent bugs we spray for are cockroaches, ants, and scorpions (I've only seen a couple). As far as rent, it depends what you are looking for. How many bedrooms? Single family home or condo? Thank you for watching!

It is very scenic, with mountain formations so close you can literally drive up and walk a minute and touch them , but still theres 300+ more days in a year. But where any young pple go to socialize I don't know, other than a bunch of kind of expensive looking restaurants and gyms, 2 Walmart's and a small mall for shopping. What pple do for work to afford all these beautiful million dollar houses in the hills I have no idea, but even mobile homes start at $75,000 and land lots at $45,000.

    How do the locals treat you if you’re not LDS? I’ve heard that if you are a business owner, and not part of the LDS church, then they will not do business with you.

    • @ComeHomeStGeorge
      @ComeHomeStGeorge  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Everyone's experience is different and unfortunately, there are always a few who are unfriendly or won't associate with those who they see as different from themselves (and that is not limited to LDS people or St George). But for every horror story I've heard, I've heard more of the opposite - stories of amazing neighbors who went out of their way to help each other out and also welcome new people to the area. But more specifically, as far as businesses go, I've never heard of a business being shunned because the owner was not LDS (at least not in this century). I could see people opposing a type of business perhaps, but not shunning a business simply because the owner was not of their faith. In fact, I don't know how you would even know, generally speaking, who owned a business or what they believed. I do business with companies that treat the customer right and provide a good product or service.

    Is St. George going to run out of water?
    Local officials now say the area will run out of water within a decade. In response, they have taken drastic-and controversial-steps to ensure future hydration: a $1.3 billion to $2 billion, 140-mile pipeline to retrieve 27 billion gallons of water out of the Colorado River that feeds into Lake Powell In the 17 years they have collected funds for the pipeline, they have done nothing on this so called project. This says it all. This town is going to get decimated.

    I got a dui completely sober here, believe it or not. All the cops have to do is say you're not acting right then say you didn't pass the roadside test to take your vehicle and take you to jail then its 2 months before the drug test comes back and unless you have $800 to get your vehicle back they keep it. I finally got my test back 2 mo later completely negative, no old thc, not a drop of alc, nothing, yet my van has been stolen and sold in an auction and I still have court to see if they just convict me anyways. Then I've been stopped by cops on my bike 2 times since then in 2 months. No wonder nobody here goes out after 10pm and you won't see anyone riding a bike or barely even walking thru town. Even if you're a conservative and don't hate cops Id stay away from here. There's no crime but the cops obviously need to bring people in to keep their promotions and they don't care whether you support them or like Trump or not they need the revenue from fining and ticketing you and a justification for their job and there's no real crime here other than them I've never been anywhere I got carjacked before
