    We wouldn’t live or rather do our cabinets and appliances anywhere else. It really is a special place!

    Having lived here for 4 months as a legal immigrant living in St. George. It has been very hard for me to make friends here. The only friends I have been able to make are the fellow migrants from other cities outside Utah. Even though are wanting to move back. The place is hot and dry. It literally is 110+ as I type. LDS church is prominent here, racism in that religion is innate because of their teachings even though they say they aren’t racist. Making friends as a colored person is a challenge because of the religious beliefs of the people. Their book literally teaches that that colored people have sinned in previous lives or ancestors have committed sins due to which other people are dark colored. The only way is to repent and service which will lead the colored people to a different heaven from the white heaven. Also they believe they will go to a celestial heaven which kinda means they will be Gods 😂 Other than that St. George has nothing happening inside the town, there are 3 bars in the whole town and they are not really up to the mark. Most of the people are family oriented, expect 5-6 children per couple without considering the second marriages😂 The place is hell because people are not at all into mingling with other cultures. From economics perspective the minimum wages are low so expect very low salaries around $10-$14 per hour but the costs are high. A 1 bed room apartment will cost nothing less $1300 in the town. Food is expensive because of inflation and added costs since everything is imported here. No doubt it’s a beautiful place to visit but to live here is depressing and lonely despite the hot sun.

      your right about caucasian people not wanting to mix with other skin colored people, not only in st george though, this happens in utah in general, beautiful state no doubt but a lot of weird people.

    This was a really great video! I know tech ridge is good for the economy, but I wish they would stop tainting our beautiful red mesas with houses and businesses. It really detracts from the view that so many of us love.

      I get what you are saying about the mesas. I was recently reading that they won't be building right on the edge of Tech Ridge, so it won't stand out as much as it has on some of the other mesas that have been built on.

    I have seen many of her videos and I do comment on each one I see and put my 2 cents in and I truely feel that as good as she is she is a realtor who just wants to make money. Our city is run by the wealthy developers and realtors whose only objective is getting wealthy and with Washington County being the 2nd fastest growing county in the nation they are getting what they want. Many of our generational residents of 40+ yrs are being ignored for the said growth. To Hell with us we don't matter just as long as wealthy realtors and developers who have lived here 10 maybe 20yrs and dont know our county get what they want, growth. This is just my opinion and as you can tell I don't want us to grow this fast. We meed to stop for a spell so we can assess our city and fix what's wrong before we get more growth. Please whoever sees this video and watches. DON'T MOVE HERE WE DON'T WANT YOU. We are overcrowded. Let us live in peace with our limited space to breathe. Thanks

      Move to central Utah then if you don’t like the crowding because it’s not going to stop! It will get worse so maybe you should move and stop being an entitled brat, you don’t own the city and lol you think people will read your comment and care??? No one cares, maybe you should be out on the streets protesting since it bothers you so much 😂😂😂

      Agree. I wanted to retire there from north Utah, but with the traffic and new developments, all I could see is it looking like Phoenix. Crowded, expensive and rise in crime.

    We hope to move into the area. Hopefully this year. Waiting for the interest rates to come down first.

    • @ComeHomeStGeorge
      @ComeHomeStGeorge  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One thing to consider is that as rates go down we will most likely be back to bidding wars driving up the prices. We just don't have enough inventory to keep up with the demand. I understand the interest rates may be keeping you from qualifying for the loan amount you need, some builders or sellers are offering to buy down the interest rate. I would be happy to discuss options if you are interested.

    • @mr.mcallister6502
      @mr.mcallister6502 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ComeHomeStGeorge That is a concern. We have been waiting for two years to move because of the rates and we could not afford the mortgage payments at those rates. When they start cutting this May or June people like us may all jump into the market all at once. I would be interested in hearing about different options.

    All I wish is we had an actual skyline with tall (not skyscrapers) buildings like all the banks downtown (Wells Fargo, Zion, Chase, etc...) would knock the roofs off or restart their buildings and make them 6-10 stories tall. Also that empty lot on the blvd better be something tall like the Hilton being built down the street by the Best Western.

      At least there's things to do. But we aren't slowing down. We're the 2nd fastest growing in the US. It sucks but doesn't suck at the same time.

    • @kourtneylehman410
      @kourtneylehman410 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with you. As a 40+ yr resident, I hate how fast we are growing. Traffic now scares me, and the beautiful lava is being removed for resorts no one really wanted. We are fastly losing our beauty. We can no longer look out our windows and see red mountains. All we see are homes, and all of them are large, multimillion dollar ones. We are also running out of water fast. Who cares that we are the 2nd fastest growing city. We will be as bad as New York or LA if we don't do something fast. Yes, I'm with you on growth. Let's stop it for a spell.

    • @kourtneylehman410
      @kourtneylehman410 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry, it sucks no matter how you look at it. There's no good in growing extremely fast. We need to pace ourselves. People who have lived here for many generations are being slowly eliminated. No one will listen to them and what they want. It's all about greed with our politicians here in Washington County😢.

      @@kourtneylehman410 My family has lived here for generations. Not every local wants it to stay as the sad little trailer park it once was. also we will never become NYC or LA. we wont even become close to SLC size but whatever. That is the beauty about having different opinions. I love the growth and want it to grow more and more. Seeing new buildings, homes, stores, roads, etc... excites me, but I also do see where you are coming from and how it may suck to you and many others. It is sad to see fields and lava rock disappear. Also what's so bad about NYC or LA?
