    Absolutely loved this first episode!
Seeing Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla, Ezra Bridger and, of course, Ahsoka Tano in live action was brilliant.
Oh, and Sabine’s Loth-cat is so damn cute!!

HOLY FREAKING CRAP, this episode didn’t just meet, it exceeded my already high expectations!
If it wasn’t evident before, these 2 episodes prove that Dave Filoni is the true apprentice and successor of George Lucas. His eye for the details of the same classic samurai films that inspired Lucas is all over this show. What’s really surprising is that these episodes are made in a way that even people who didn’t see Rebels can get into this show without being lost, while hardcore fans like myself who watched it from day one are well and truly rewarded for watching it from beginning to end.
Also the actresses for Ahsoka, Sabine and Hera are absolutely perfect! I especially love that Clancy Brown got to play the same character he voiced in Rebels.
And Ray Stevenson as always was amazing, Rest In Peace Ray, we will never forget you!

My wife and I took a break from packing for a holiday to watch the first episode when it went live here (at 1pm). We were only going to save the second until after dinner, but by the end of the first neither of us could summon the courage to hit Stop.

I treat the 'chest stab' like being shot by a gun. Sometimes the bullet hits a vital organ and it's light out. Sometimes the bullet passes through with minimal collateral damage and you survive. I guess Shin (Baylan's apprentice) hasn't mastered her 'aiming for a vital spot' technique.

(It's a gorgeous piece of work - I'm so excited that they have included it, along with various snippets of Ahsoka's theme (obviously), Hera's theme, and I thought at some points during the first two episodes I heard a tiny hint of the Thrawn organ and Ezra's theme during the hologram/when she was thinking about him - I have to re-listen though).

An observation: The two dark jedi are using lightsabers with Kohlen crystals which are orange and of lesser power than the Kyber crystals normally used for blades. A pair of these crystals were discovered by Qui Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan, while on Pijal, during an investigation of the blackguards who used the crystals as personal energy shields that are impervious to lightsabers.

In the games Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor (I apologize for spoilers 😓), there's another survivor of the Night Sisters, named Merrin. Some of my knowledge about the new villains ;)
An astute Reddit user, well-versed in Norse mythology, discovered a striking similarity between these new villains: their surnames are linked to mythological wolf brothers, descendants of the fearsome Fenrir. Sköll, one of these brothers, relentlessly pursues the Sun, symbolized by the goddess Sól riding her chariot across the sky, while Hati pursues the Moon, represented by the god Máni on a chariot. A chilling prophecy suggests that during Ragnarök, the mythical end of days, both Sköll and Hati will finally capture and consume the Sun and Moon.
Baylan Skoll is inspired by a pair of villains from legends
Jerec and the dark Jedi cult from the Dark Forces Jedi Knight game series - used orange lightsabers made of synthetic crystals. For example, Filoni took the Dark Troopers from this game series and used them in the Mandalorian series.
Jorus C'Baoth from the original Star Wars sequel from the legendary book series Heir to the Empire Thrawn trilogy, where he has a similar appearance and connection with Thrawn.
Huyang (a robot voiced by the legendary Doctor Who David Tennant) talks about Baylan escaping Order 66. I wonder why his sword hilt is so special.
Otherwise, the planet with "Stonehenge" will be the place where the Purgyls are born and therefore this ring in its orbit. In my opinion, they will catch the whales that will get them along the star path and since I am returning to legends again, this can also have a strong impact on the timeline and so that we don't get the so-called SW multiverse that would lead to the Thrawn trilogy and not to Rey :D ;) but maybe not, we'll see.
And I'm really looking forward to the final showdown and Anakin's involvement in this whole thing.

If you add abismal stone faced acting which prohibits any kind of facial gesture (the best acting was performed by CGI androids) along with mechanical sword fighting, you get a boring woke (yes, there are Crayola heads in space) continuation of the ill fated sequel. I'm like an abused housewife with Disney Star Wars, I keep expecting the best but I'm prepared to get slapped in the face and thrown into the wall. The first 2 episodes were good but Disney Plus shows in general have a pattern of starting off good before it goes to sh@t.

Using the show Babylon 5 which had telepaths ranked from P1 to P10 as an example Sabine ranks as barely a P1 so while she qualifies she will never be on the same level as Ezra who is easily a P7 or P8.
